Had an issue with the newly installed gate due to it’s size. Troy came out very quickly and did an assessment. He came up with multiple options to resolve the issue. He came back a few weeks later, and made the necessary fix. This company really cares and stands by their work. Thank you so much for making the necessary repairs.

I would not use this Company at all. There were three homes sharing the cost of expenses. Iniatially the first side went up fine ., however a different crew came for the next side and it was installed very substandard. The gate was installed upside down and with an obvious cracked wood and there are holes that were puttied now showing. The tounge and groove which is supposed to be warranted has large separations. If they would just repair… fine, however as previous posts indicate Troy does not even return call, that Rhonda states he will…
My neighbor used his services again recently (don’t quite know why) but I asked the crew if they could just take a look at my fence while they were there, they instructed me to call. Rhonda said Troy would need to call and examine. It has been a month, I have called and emailed Rhonda iniatiaally had misplaced my phone number. They do not stand behind their «materials and workmanship» 3 year Warranty… it does not mean a thing !!!

Though we did not use the company this time around (went with a smaller option that could be handled «in house»), we were happy with the estimate and the obvious time and effort put into providing the details for us. Prices were right for the options we asked for, and we will likely use them in the future.

We needed to replace the fence on the property line with our neighbor. We got a couple of bids, but decided to go with The Fencing Pro. In December 2014, they installed about 60 linear feet of vinyl fencing between our yards. We also had them install a gate on each side of our home. The bottom rails of the fence soon started sagging, but we weren’t really concerned about it until a whole section fell in September. We also noticed that one of the gate posts had separated from our wall. I called their office on Saturday, Oct. 17, and also sent an email. Rhonda called me back promptly the following Monday morning and said they would have someone out to make the repairs when they were in the area. Two weeks went by without a word, so I called again today. Rhonda explained that she had our file on her desk and would have someone out when they were in the area. I told her this was not acceptable, that we both have dogs, and need the fence repaired. After being placed on hold while she spoke with Troy, she came back on the line and said Troy could come out today, but there would be a charge of $ 37.50. What? Our contract states that ‘materials and workmanship are guaranteed for 3 years’. When my husband got on the phone and asked to speak to Troy, Rhonda hung up on him. We are very frustrated at this time and just want our fence and gate repaired.

I would not use this company again. We shared the cost of the fence with our neighbors, but after reviewing the quote and realizing that the fence post footings were undersized based on the city code, they ended up charging us additional for larger footings (as required by city code), even though the quote stated it would meet code (state code only).
The product looked nice, but has already started to sag. I’ve had to adjust the gates several times due to sagging. We had one panel where the bottom support has come loose and the panels are slipping. This should all be covered under their warranty, but it has been over 2 weeks since requesting service and all they tell us is that «they will come by next time they are in the area.» This is not acceptable service to me. Then when we tried to push the issue to get it resolved, they hung up on us. Very unprofessional.

I had a shared fence that needed to be replaced. We were not sure if we wanted it to be wood or white vinyl. We called out three companies to give us quotes. The first company was way too high. The second company was fair and The Fencing Pro was the cheapest. I originally wanted to use the second company because they had nice brochures and a nice show room. My neighbor had used The Fencing Pro before and had a great experience with a wood fence. I agreed to go with The Fencing Pro after asking Troy and Rhonda a bunch of questions, but was leery because of some mixed reviews on Unilocal.Our job was scheduled about a month out. We decided to go with a White Vinyl fence (If you are looking for unique colors for the vinyl fence you might want to pick a different company. This company has your basic colors for vinyl). I stayed home from work the first day because I have sprinklers that are very close to the fence and did not want any issues with them getting broken. Felix (the lead foreman) introduced himself to me and walked me through what they were going to do. He was very kind, approachable, knowledgeable and yes he spoke English. Our property was not level and had a slope. I wanted to make sure it would still look level on top and that the height would remain the same. The first day they removed the old fence and put in a generous amount of concrete for the posts. The second day I went to work and came back at lunch. The fence was looking great! They finished the shared fence in two days and another side fence on the third day. They did a wonderful job! Not one sprinkler was touched. We will use them again for our back fence in spring. I felt the need to explain that I had a great experience with this company.

Everything went smoothly. Troy came for an estimate which turned out to be the lowest out of four estimates. Sent in deposit. Rhonda set up and scheduled the job. Less than 2 weeks later I had a new Dog-​Ear tongue and groove fence in the backyard. No issues whatsoever.

So I just got a call from the gal at the Fencing Pro office stating that now, finally, they are ready to come over tomorrow to replace the piece of split wood on my front fence. They were aware of my previous 2-​star review about them, so I figure that’s why I got this call in the first place. Still I was all set to revisit my previous review of them here after the fence was fixed until she demanded that I remove my earlier 2-​star review from here FIRST or «we won’t come tomorrow». I was then chastised vehemently because I «didn’t wait long enough (a month) for them to schedule me» when I was never notified by them of some kind of time frame of when they could fix my fence after several requests by me for one. Troy’s email responses are very curt and brief and inform you of nothing. I was also chastised because I did not call HER instead. Why didn’t he have HER call me when he knew there was an issue? I told her «Why would I do that when I was already accustomed to communicating via email with Troy (the owner)? If he wanted me to speak to you instead, all he had to do was tell me.» But she kept cutting me off and arguing with me and claiming that they had already gone above and beyond «for you guys» by coming to my property multiple times. If they visited my neighbors multiple times, why is that anything to do with me? Apart from the fact that Troy himself mis-​measured the side fence by 11 feet which caused the workers to have to return a 3^rd day to finish one fence because they didn’t have enough material, that is on HIM, not me, Troy was only here once to give me the initial quote. So I’m perplexed as to how she would argue with me and claim they had already gone overboard for me and how I was impatient and that my review of their follow up service was unfair. She was so argumentative and constantly cutting me off, I finally hung up on her. So here I am now with a second review of them. I guess one wasn’t good enough for them — so now they get two. When will they learn to be nice to their customers and be responsive to them, particularly when they installed defective material? They didn’t need a truck to come over and pull off the 6 foot piece of splitting wood, so being «down one truck» was a lame excuse. This company got 5 fences out of the deal with me and my neighbors. But rather than give excellent customer service AFTER they have our money and use us all as great referrals and fix what should never have happened, this is how they treat people. All they had to do was be responsive and timely in fixing the problem they created and APOLOGIZE for my inconvenience and I would have ultimately given them a glowing review. Now, not so much. UPDATE: So now Troy has posted a comment on my original review blaming me for the splitting wood. He knows full well that new wood can split for no reason other than it is new wood. I didn’t break it. It just split on its own. He makes it sound like it was a really old fence. He had just installed it a few weeks earlier. I reported the problem as soon as I noticed it, which unfortunately wasn’t until after the workers left after installing the second fence. I never demanded he come immediately either, but I did inform him that I was eager to prime and paint the fence and wanted it fixed as soon as possible, but he gave me the run around, ignored my request for some kind of time frame and largely ignored my emails all together. So now because I wouldn’t take down my honest review of his bad customer service, he won’t come to fix the problem at all. I won’t be bullied. Just know that you are on your own with this guy and his extremely rude office manager and once you pay for the fence, you have no more leverage left to get them to honor their warranty. You would think he would care more about his reputation but he doesn’t, other than to come back on Unilocal and lie about what happened. UPDATE: I originally gave this 2 stars, but since Troy has come back with a response and lied about what happened, I have now lowered it to one star, and he is luck to get that.

Mixed experience with this company. We had a fence repaired between our house and our neighbors. Both of us called companies that we had previously used and The Fencing Pro came in less expensive so we used them. They are a little difficult to do business with and their response-​times are very slow. Not only did they raise the price on us but they took over 3 weeks to schedule the work. Once the work was done, we asked them to come back and stain the fence. They asked us to send them a check before they would schedule the job, which we did. After holding onto our check for another 3 weeks with zero follow up, they finally said that they would not come and stain the fence. They returned the check.
Now for the good. The work was excellent and the fence looks great. If you are looking for good work and can handle the poor customer service, then this is a good choice. I personally would not use them again as I think customer service is an important part of any business.

I have to report a bad experience with this company.
Our neighbors were replacing the property fence between us. They selected The Fencing Pro. They came out on a Friday, I had a quick chat to the workers, who told me they would come to me before leaving and make sure that I was happy with everything. This they never did. They left without leaving me their information or checking I was happy.
The fence had hundreds of nails sticking out of it, they broke my garden archway and left it dangling in pieces. They damaged my sprinkler system in two places which lead to my garden being flooded (and we are in a drought so need to conserve water), they moved my trampoline without asking if that was OK and in the process did not ensure that the legs were securely under the trampoline. When my daughter and friend climbed on it, the whole thing bent and collapsed. Luckily the kids were not hurt but they were badly shaken up. They left the trampoline bent and crumpled in the middle of the yard for us to sort out. They had to move some stored items when they cleared the old fence and just left them laying around and didn’t bother to put them back. My neighbor complained that she had to be on them to make them tidy up and made them clear the debris out my yard. They left the ground uneven with big chunks of cement lying around. When I phoned the secretary to find out if they would sort out the issues, she was incredibly rude and slammed the phone down on me. Troy the owner, then said he would send his men to sort everything out. When they came, and were about to sort it all out, when the secretary phone and said they would not be fixing the trampoline. When I asked to speak to Troy, the secretary said he doesn’t want to talk to me, he doesn’t have the time for this and slammed the phone down on me again.
I have had to pay someone to take down the broken trampoline and will now need to purchase a new one and get to pay someone to put it up for me again.
On the side of my house I have a gravel area. I just had paid someone to level it out and put fresh gravel down. It is now filthy and will need to be redone! The garden was trampled, so there is about 1 ½ yards of barren garden next to the fence. I will have to buy plants and grass to make the garden look decent again.
The cost of sorting out the mess after them will probably cost me $ 1 000. In conclusion I am totally confused as to why The Fencing Pro was selected to do the work. I see that their reviews on Unilocal are shocking. Word of caution to home owners — do your research. I wouldn’t select this company under any circumstance!

I called today to set up an appointment/​estimate. After explaining the job I needed done (driveway gate) I was told that they are too busy right now. The lady on the phone told me it wouldn’t be 3 weeks until they could get someone out for an estimate. I said that would be great! She then rambled on to say they are «swamped, the job is too small» Bottom line-​they didn’t want to do the job. If you need a gate now or in the future you might want to look somewhere else!

I recently had The Fencing Pro out to give me an estimate on replacing 100′ of fencing and a gate. From the start they were great. They came out the very next available estimate day as they only do them on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s. Then after I spoke with Troy about having dogs and small children in both homes (we had a section fall because of heavy winds) and a pool on the premises, he assured me it was a priority to get this fence done. So not only did they give us the best quote we had received, they did the job from the quoting process to completion in a week. This week also included two rainy days which does not help with fence installs! All In all from Troy, Rhonda, and the installers we received nothing short of awesome customer service and will never need to consider any other fencing companies.

I recently had my old rotting fence torn down and a new one installed. The work was great and they were fast. The price was right too. I had no complaints until I turned on my sprinklers. Every single head was broken off and I now have 2 broken pipes directly under the posts. Their contract states they are not responsible for broken pipes so I guess i have to dig everything up and do it myself. If you work with this company make sure you are there the day of the work and show them the sprinkler locations. I thought this would be common sense, guess not.
Troy, can you help me out at all with this? I would be more than happy to provide more info about the situation. I’m planning on having the rest of the fence done and would work with you again as long as I know my sprinkler system will be ok!

DON’T USE THEM. I hate my fence. The door doesn’t even work. It’s splitting everywhere the tongue and grooves are (that we paid extra for). When I emailed pictures to Rhonda she didn’t even reply back and I wasn’t going to get aggressive I just wanted them to fix it. Save your money and go with someone else.

Have to report a good experience with The Fencing Pro — from the bid/​quote process to job completion. The bid was competitive and Troy’s professionalism was the deciding factor.
The installation crew, led by Felix, was very professional and worked quickly. I went with a cedar cap and trim fence with galvanized steel posts. The workmanship and quality was commendable. Both neighbors seemed pleased as well, and that’s not an easy thing.
I would definitely recommend the Fencing Pro.

Owner Troy helped me with project at my house. He put up a very good fence last year and it has held up very well. Sorry it took me so long to leave this review. Pricing was fair and craftsmanship was fantastic! I highly recommend The Fencing Pro.

We had a new fence built by them 1 month ago an now it’s completely bowing and you can see through every slat. They are refusing to fix it saying this is normal for wood to move. Very frustrating. Of course they will fix it if I pay more money. Complete scam.

I finally got a check from this horrible business and on the «memo» section of the check they put the case number followed by «LOL» This is supposed to be a professional business,. To write «LOL» on a company check just shows you the type of business man this Troy Ford is. If anyone wants to see a copy of this just send me a message. Adiós Fencing Unpro.

Dreadful, unprofessional, cowardly, rude, and even hurtful; this was my experience with this individual… the owner of the company, Troy Ford.
I live on the majorly busy street of Chapman Ave, cross street N. Berkeley, across from the college.
There is a particularly lovely, wooden fence catty-​corner to our property which has a metal plate indicating it was built by this company and listing the number. I called about 3 weeks ago and was told they were too busy to even come for an estimate; okay. I called back late last week to tell me when they could come (left on a message) and I called back to arrange the appointment to my own calendar.
My time is split between an invalid mother here in my home; my sister suffering with advanced MS and myself, working with a badly injured ankle causing me difficulty in walking.
The appointment was made for today at 1pm. Troy (I’m assuming that is his name, he never gave me his name or identified himself by his company name) called, as I had asked that he do before arriving. He call about 20 minutes until 1 to say he’d be arriving in 5 minutes. Well, that’s not how quickly «things» go with older and incapacitated people, so I asked that he come in 15 minutes. I reminded him that he’d need to park on Balcom.
He called again, from his car on Berkeley. I told him again, this time with more explanation, that due to the new regulations, there was no parking on Berkeley without a permit. A bit of time went by and as I waited at the back door, looking to the alley, I saw he was coming from our parking area off the alley.
We have 3 rentals and four parking spaces to accommodate myself and those three renters. My sister is allowed to park in Berkeley with her handicap license plate, since we really have 5 cars for those 4 spaces.
I asked him again, with apologizing for the inconvenience, to park on Balcon, as those were reserved spaces for my renters.
He responds asking was I expecting them home. I responded that I didn’t know their schedules but that due to the extreme nature of our parking issues, it was an understanding that those spaces are reserved for their use only.
He left, indicating that he would now move his truck to Balcom, after overt indications of complete disgust with the request. And so I waited… and waited… and waited, there in the back yard. After about 10 or 15 minutes I called his cell; first call went directly to voice mail and the second went to VM after the usual number of rings. I called a third time to let him know that I had to assume he was not returning.
That was about an hour ago. He has yet to call.
Such disrespect and unprofessionalism!
The fence would have been the length of two properties; at the front (good advertising for him); and about 6 to 8 feet high. I wish I knew someone that could duplicate the fence he did for the neighbor… very nice fence (although I have not yet spoken with the neighbor to know their personal experience with him and or his work) but it is a nice looking fence.
Thank you for allowing me to vent after this very, very negative experience.

I wish I could leave a zero star but I can’t. I needed a price on fencing for four different houses. Supposedly it was the owner who came out to give me a bid which is somewhat hard to believe. After he received two calls from customers and one call from a foreman and he was unwilling to put his phone on vibrate I told him to forget the bids. He did say they were very busy due to the wind so I helped him out help him by saying I’ll have somebody else do the jobs. With the other bids we received it came up to $ 9000 but that must not be enough to put his phone on vibrate for 15 minutes. I had prepared a chart that showed By location if it was a shared cost or 100% for that house.
