FT3 Tactical

Took a group of 10 new shooters for a Father’s Day outing. The staff was amazing. They handled our group without a hitch even though it was a VERY busy day. Front desk is friendly, efficient, and really knows their stuff. You’d think it was Nordstrom’s. The Chief instructor, Mark, is one of the best I’ve seen. The Assistant Manager handled about 20 things at once as if it was easy. The Range Safety Officer was on the spot to offer tips and fix malfunctions. (I guess it is fair to say some of their rental guns have seen better days, but that’s to be expected when they get used as much as they do.). Safety is never compromised but they keep it fun. Absolutely zero military/​police style bossy attitudes (although I think everyone has that kind of background). This is a great place for a creative party. Just call ahead or you’ll have a bit if a wait on a Saturday. TY3 isn’t a secret for a reason.

The front desk is friendly but always busy. The facility is clean and modern. I like that they allow rifles. However the Range masters are constantly breathing on your neck and peeking over your shoulder and coming into the booth throwing your concentration off. The place is always busy and after a hour of shooting the range master was all ready asking if I was about to leave. After I had waited outside for almost an hour just to get a lane. Range master are not friendly at all and make the whole visit a bad experience.

As always — FT3 never disappoints in terms of customer service. You’ve got fun loving, helpful and very courteous front staff and RSOs!
Yeah — my Dad visits me in SoCal, and since it has been more than a decade since he retired from the Philippine military, I wanted him to experience the joys of again shooting a 1911 (in 45 ACP). I brought him to FT3 — he just had fun!
But… Let it be said — the reason for the «–2» star is that they need to have more vigilant in _​extreme_​cases of safety violations! Around 5:00pm, 11-​June — there was a group of guys in Lane #4 (as I would remember). One of the guy was shooting an AR15 to a target about 15-​yards out. UNFORTUNATELY, ALL eight (8) shots were hitting the ceiling and the steel rails. None of his group members cautioned and/​or corrected him on his shooting!!!
Most of ALL — there was no RSO to actually cite this IRRESPONSIBLE group of shooters (that give gun owners a bad name!)…
Am hoping that if FT3 does read this review that they take action and cite a warning the next time this group comes in (they should be able to as they have camera feeds and logs)…

This is by far the best indoor range in the Los Angeles/​Orange County area with a modern air filtration system, good selection of rentals, clean facility, professional staff and decent ammo prices. I drive 22 miles to get to the range and it is well worth the drive.

I visit FT a few months back. The staff is very friendly and the facility is well maintained. They also sell firearm and the staff seemed very informed. I went with some friends to get some practice with a pistol and ¹⁰⁄₂₂. One of my favorite gun ranges in North OC.

FT3 is my favorite establishment in Stanton. I don’t have any favorite shopping plaza’s or any favorite restaurants there… and I don’t know anyone who lives in this city, but I can say for sure that there is a kick butt range there!
The range is located in an industrial area (no surprise there) but does have a very cute, hip and modern exterior with some stacked stones around the bathroom entrance, and succulent plants surrounding the entry way. As a girl, I was pleasantly surprised by the nice décor and lighting. The environment is very welcoming and friendly for beginners.
Another cool thing is that this range lets you shoot shotguns and rifles, which some ranges may not allow, or may only allow in certain areas. Another plus is that their stalls have a digital adjuster button so you can see if you’re shooting at 4ft vs 5ft instead of having to guess. It allows you to keep your practice distances very precise. As we were shooting, staff was readily available to answer questions, and everyone was helpful and courteous.
For anybody who plans on taking up shooting as a hobby, I recommend to get your own eyes and ears, since if you plan on going more than a few times, it’s worth it to buy your own and get some that fit you properly for the best protection. I also always recommend double ear protection, so wear ear plugs as well as over the ear earmuffs.
Only downside is the price. Each time for two people will cost about $ 30 for range time. Membership is $ 375/​year, whereas most other ranges sell memberships for about $ 200-​$ 250/​year. So although it is a nicer, newer range, you’re paying the price.
Overall, I’d be back, and if I ever bring any beginner shooter friends, this would be the range I would pick!

My sons 16^th Birthday surprise today. This is a very modern shooting range not military looking at all. The employees with great attitudes and the experience very smooth for being the very first time my son handles weapons not counting of course nerf guns or tour of duty/​black ops PS¾.
I am a retired marine I recommend this business to all 16 years and older. This is a very experienced expert marksman and a responsible dad’s opinion.
Children should play with toys.

Has to be the best indoor range in orange county. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent facilities, clean, simply top-​notch. Best time to go is during the week.

A few things have changed recently at FT3. Don’t worry too much. They are still the best indoor shooting range in the OC. Current cost to rent a lane is $ 20 for the first shooter and $ 10 for the second. Range time is still 2 hours, which is still very reasonable. FT3 doesn’t sell their own ammo or firearms. There are some FT3 gear in the case though.
Everything else is still the same. Easy check in. They still offer a variety of guns to rent and memberships. Range officers are cool and they still have a nice lobby to relax while you wait for a lane.

This is probably the best range I’ve been to in Southern California. Very clean and efficient, with a comfortable seated waiting area complete with coffee and spa water. Good rental selection and the front desk is well coordinated with the range master– whenever I go with first time shooters we’re greeted with the friendly safety rundown as soon as we enter.
We’ve only gone on the weekends before opening, and there’s usually a line before the doors open. Check in is pretty smooth, staff is friendly and costs aren’t terrible (shooting is never a cheap activity, even when you bring your own guns and ammo.) The only issue is that the lanes are roughly *a million degrees* in the summertime, and the AC is negligible.

I visited FT3 for the first time this Friday, 4÷1÷2016, and it is an exceptionally good indoor shooting range. I have not shot in a loooong time, and I went there with my manager who is a more novice shooter. I brought my own side arms, so I cannot comment on the quality of their rental guns.
1. FACILITIES — their reception area is pretty nice and organized. They also have a lounge area with plenty of tables and chairs, in case you have to wait for your buddies, or if you have to wait for an available lane.
Speaking of lanes, there are a LOT of them. The actual range area is very well ventilated with plenty of lighting. Come to think if it, I don’t even remember smelling gunpowder inside the range!
The best feature of the range has to be their digital lane controls. It actually displays the distance of your target. You can also program 3 different settings in it, making the transition between shooters that much faster. They also have a screen mounted next to the control pad. You can use this screen to watch a video of your target if you are shooting at the maximum distance allowed by the lane. No more need to bring binoculars to see how badly I missed my targets!
2. RSOs/​Range Masters — best group of folks I have ever dealt with! From the moment of check-​in, everyone was very helpful, friendly and willing to help. Once we got to our lane, David (one of the Range Masters) came by to help us set-​up and explain the range rules to us. He then offered to give my manager some lessons on shooting basics. He was a very good instructor, and my manager felt very comfortable during her basics instruction. Once we got to the groove of shooting, I saw David making his rounds, stopping by each lane and shooter to check that everything was ok.
There was actually some sort of ruckus at another lane. A group of youngsters were having too much fun shooting their «operator rifles» and taking videos (no doubt to Snap Chat proof of their studliness). One of these «operators» started yelling «GET DOWN! GET DOWN!!» as he shot his rifle. I tell ya, David put a stop to that shit quickly, and he told Seal Team 6 to behave or else they will be kicked out. That tells me that FT3 is SERIOUS about SAFETY. That kind of behavior is unacceptable in a room full of people holding guns. I’m really impressed how vigilant David was and how safety conscious he is.
Overall, it was a great experience, and my friends and I are definitely coming back!

Absolutely the worse service ever. For being open for 5 years they are so unorganized. If they know that they get do busy, try to have more than two people helping check ins and out. Then maybe have someone floating to ring up purchases. Or to help whole looking at gear or ammo. The guy who was helping us for the entirety of 2 sec is an asshole and rude AF. I only came here because we had a gift card but f this place looks nice but it’s terrible. I will never come back here again
I only give one star because it’s making me give at least one. But if it’s up to me I would give none.

If you are looking for the best indoor range in SoCal, then you have found it.
I’ve been to every indoor range in the area. Ft3 is by far the best. Clean facilities, tons of shooting stalls, great location, very few caliber restrictions, and helpful staff.
That being said the only draw back with being king is having the following they do. This place can be jam packed! I never come and shoot on the weekends anymore because I don’t plan on waiting around. I do come during the week when I have time off of work. Even then it’s fairly busy. I try to get here before they open by at least 30 minutes so I’m one of the first in line.
I’d suggest investing in a membership if you are an avid shooter as it will pay for itself in the long run and you can also make lane reservations.
Another great Thing about ft3 is the knowledgable staff and range masters. Always super friendly, and helpful. Last time I was in one of the range masters spent a great deal of time helping a family that came in learn about shooting and shooting safety. He did it in a high energy and positive way. I’ve seen a lot of other range masters at other ranges be harsh and rude. Which isn’t what you want when it’s someone’s first time getting exposed to guns. You want them to feel comfortable and safe. That’s exactly what ft3 provides.
So come and check it out. Especially if it’s your first time shooting a gun.

Best shooting range in SoCal.
I went here just recently to shoot guns because I heard they had rifles and shotguns, most places don’t have that. They gave us brief instructions on how to use them and we had one guy that gave us a good experience and laughs wish I knew his name, as well as some other worker-​who was older– would give a lot of insight.
Luckily when we went, it was on a day that was free rentals! I was so excited and I had a blast (pun intended). This place is so much closer than the one I normally went to in orange.
I think I’m going to consider this place as my go to spot from now on!

My first time at a shooting range. Went with 4 guys and they brought all the guns. Some included 9 mm, 45, 357, 308 rifle and ar15.
I rented a 22 because it was my first time shooting a gun. The kick was very minimal and I don’t recommend wasting money renting this. Start off with something better lol. My favorite to shoot was the ar15.
5 of us, renting the 22, and bought some bullets and the total was $ 180. I don’t think I’ll be going back to the shooting range. It’s very difficult for me to know if I’ve shot anything. I feel like those paper targets don’t do justice for how I wanted to feel. I rather shoot cans or something so when I hit it, I know right away. The only way I know that I’ve hit is when I’m done, I move the paper close so I could see. That’s not fun…
Next time I go shooting, it’ll be some where I can shoot cans or fruits or something like that lol.

Fancy Shooting Range ^_^
I was surprised to see a really nice water fountain in the entrance, wow! Fancy! (puts Sharp Shooter in Torrance to shame) This place is an example of how a shooting range should function. It’s a high-​end indoor range, very clean, staff are friendly yet professional and they have a strict policy. I liked the people that come here. There were nurses in their scrubs, elderly people, couples and families. aaawww ^_​^.
They have 28 lanes, 25 yards. $ 20 for the first shooter and $ 10 for second shooter. Maximum 2 shooters per lane, but they let 3 of us stay in 1 lane. There’s a 2 hour limit if it’s busy, but we stayed there for more than 3 hours mainly trying to teach Mommy Cakes how to shoot lol.
I really liked that they had staff/​instructor keeping a close eye on every shooter to make sure people were following the rules. I felt very safe. Sharp Shooter doesn’t!!! I also appreciated how nice the staff was to my mom.
TIP: First time shooter must shoot a 22 caliber pistol. Itt’s a low recoil weapon. Come early. This place gets packed and members get priority.

The front counter staff have been pleasant and friendly. Range gets busy and you fight for back counter space sometimes. But otherwise nice facility for sure.
My constant annoyance is usually the rangemaster that hovers into your booth whenever it strikes him as prudent.
And my recent trip has me LIVID. My friend and I brought our Russian rifles. And probably 500 rounds of BRASS cased ammo.
Well that’s when we get a visit from the older rangemaster… There’s steel cased shells downrange and we’re blamed. «Umm. Please look through all our boxes. No really. It’s all brass.»
Dude doesn’t find anything and we’re told not to shoot steel cased ammo anyway…(I’d still like to see how this affects anything, but that’s a separate convo). Even though we have NONE on us.
Well, it was a busy night and there were black (AR) rifles everywhere. Cool. I have some of those. But UH OH! More steel cases on the deck. Dude gets more aggressive with me and asks me to show him my ammo. I do. It’s my expensive Fiocchi BRASS ammo. He asks to see more. I show him another case of ammo and he says, «That’s your friend’s ammo!»
Yeah bud. It is. We’re best friends. The type of friends that share ammo. Is that allowed on your range, sir? Also, I showed you my own effing ammo.
And guess what recruits?! The AR15 is configurable to multiple calibers. Ever heard of an AR47??? That’s when a rifle looks just like an AR15, but it shoots silly goose ammo of 7.62×39. Admit it, old rangemaster. You don’t oper8. AR47s are a thing! Just because we had proper AKs, you were relentless with us.
Did you check ANY OTHER RIFLES to see if they were shooting Kommunist Kaliber, Komrad?!
But you didn’t check. Because we watched you walk to the front counter and snitch on us and point our way. EVEN THOUGH YOU FOUND NO DIRTY STEEL CASED AMMO ANYWHERE NEAR US.
Then you told my BFF, «I know your friend is shooting steel cases but won’t cop to it. So if we catch you doing that you won’t be welcome back.»
I let you inspect my station, rifle, and ammo. You found nothing. Yet you say and do all that?
Here’s my suggestion; Let ALL your employees know that there are «AR15s» that shoot 9 mm, .22, .223÷5.56, .300 blackout, 7.62×39, .308 etc.

I’m a first timer. I also hate to admit how scared I was driving into this place in a random alleyway and how more scared I was when I first entered the the range.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. We came in as a group of 6 to finish off my friends birthday day and it was 40 minutes till closing. We ideally wanted to shoot for only 30 minutes anyway and they guys were really nice about it and didn’t seem grumpy that we came in 20 after 9. They charged me for an hour even though it was only about 30 minutes of shooting, but that’s probably because they charge per hour, bummer…
There are a variety of targets to choose from, and I chose the shooting gallery because it looked like an arcade game to me and there were more targets to shoot at. Each additional target is $ 1.50 and it’s nice to keep as a souvenir.
After evaluating our drivers licenses, the employee also saw it was friends birthday and gave us a 10% off card for next time. We definitely do want to come back.
Like I said, I am new to shooting but my positive experience here with no problems even right before closing made me enjoy every bit of it. And oh, the bathrooms are even clean too.

After a long day of driving around trying to find a decent gun shop to pick up some supplies, we finally made it to the range.
Pulling up, this place looks like any other business in a white concrete tilt up. But when. You walk in you notice how clean and well decorated it is, especially for a shooting range.
As far as shooting is concerned all the regular is here and nothing special. I was taken back to how friendly the staff is. Most places like this, golf shops, paint ball stores, cigar shops, comic shops, etc… have bunch of snobby jerk working that make you feel bad for not know what they think they know. Not here. These guys were awesome. Helped me out a few times when I was having trouble with a new glock. I’m so bad with names, but the guy the helped really took his time and explained it in a way that I could understand. Thanks dude
