Action-Southland Towing

I needed a car towed from my work. The guy on the phone was patient with my lack of experience on the procedure and when the person who owned the car was identified just before the car was towed, the tow-​truck driver could not have been more gracious.

These people are crooks. They need to be put out of business. The landlord of the place my car was towed from handed out placards to be placed in the windsheild anytime my car was to stay overnight. It requires my name, phone number and drivers license. I borrowed a pen from the landlord, and 5 witnesses watched me place it in my car. The next day i foind out this p.o.s towing company took my car. They illegally took my placard out of my car and took photos claiming it was never there. They broke into my car in order to do it. Mind you they towed my car a few weeks before and released it because the landlord was supposed to have given out those placards preventing your car from being towed and hadn’t yet. This place is horrible, the people are horrible and are running a scam. I promise you I am going to sue the crap out of them. Stay far away from them. I don’t know how you people sleep at night stealing money from hard working people. If I could give you zero stars I would.

Don’t use this tow company. They are over priced and towed my car for no reason. They also scratched it. I’m currently fighting the charges. Complained to the police but they said there was nothing they could do. Property manager Tom 805 782 8800 of College Plaza had it towed even though I was a paying customer there. I tried to explain it to the 80 year old woman working at the impound lot and showed her the receipts but she didn’t care. They are a crooks running a scam.

Terrible! The customer service is lousy. I was told they would be picking up my car WITHIN the hour. An hour and 15 minutes later. no show. So I called back and asked if the driver is almost here and the person apologized and said they’re extremely busy. The lamest excuse for customer service, no empathy that I am stranded and their job is to come help tow my vehicle and I pay for their services. I understand I’m not the only one, but don’t set expectations if you can’t meet it. And no call back to at least inform me they’re running late?! So I canceled the request and had my younger brother bring his truck, strapped the car to his truck and towed it that way home… SLOWLY. Don’t waste your time folks!

Horrible. Genius company puts 10% discount via Unilocal check in, but no one seems to know about the deal. Good rates though.

This is to follow up on the formal complaint I filed on the BBB’s website today. I got towed around 4pm. I called Action at 6:05p, 7:49p, 7:55p, 8:17p (see enclosed picture) — was put on hold each time with no info given. I was hung up on by the person answering the phone twice as well. I googled Action Southland and showed up at their yard in Stanton. Saw my car there. Rung the doorbell starting at 8pm all the way until 9:30pm. Lights inside were on but no one answered. I was about to give up standing out there in the cold chilly night and started taking pictures to prove that I was there. Suddenly a gentleman (Aaron) showed up saying he didn’t hear the door bell even though he was in the back the whole time. I processed my paperwork paying the $ 265 fine which included $ 75 in after-​hours gate fee. When I was about to drive the car off the lot, I noticed that all my warning lights were lit on my dashboard. I think the towing must have tripped the computer on my 2011 Hybrid. Aaron said «how do we know your car wasn’t like that before the tow?». I said «Do you see the child car seat in the back? do you think I would endanger my child like that?». He agreed and told me to come back in the morning to talk to Wade the manager. The next morning Wade refused any responsibility and I was about to call the police. Wade finally produced a piece of paper signed by his manager Lee saying that if my Nissan dealer can’t take care of this, then their Action’s mechanic would. Wade then changed his mind and called a mechanic. Problem got fixed but I missed a whole day’s work.
I found Action’s uncaring attitude to be very offensive — from the folks answering the phone all the way to their top manager.

Another towing company towed my car from my complex when it was NOT marked or posted so if I hadn’t already had Ross from Action Southland Towing’s number, I would have had to wait until the leasing office opened at 10am to even find where it was. He was able to call around and find it for me. I know from the great feedback from businesses who’ve used him that Action provides signs and markings for their complexes if they support that community but this company didn’t. AND this other tow company only recently started towing and didn’t let the tenants know. Apparently you have to call into this security company to be on a safelist or something but how were we supposed to guess that? Seriously, all complexes should use Action Southland Towing. Take the guess work out of this and keep your tenants and customers happy. Ask for Ross.
