My absolute favorite 5+ stars and some. The owner is wonderfully nice and always helpful. The people who work there are all very knowledgeable. Any time I come over I always get exactly what I need and some times even extra after tasting… Happy customer and good prices.

Not sure why there are 1 star reviews, especially around the service (sorry if you got dinged for having a crappy ID or being under aged-​shame on them). The staff here are incredibly helpful and nice. The selection of wines, liquor and beer are excellent. The pricing is ultra-​competitive and can’t be touched in the area (comparable to if not better than BevMax).
Also, note all the negative reviews are from people that don’t even live in CT, let alone Stamford. Take it from a local-​this place is excellent. They even sell high quality cheese here.

Rude employees. No hello or thank you! Maybe she was tired, she certainly wasn’t busy. With so many options around I don’t understand why you wouldn’t go someplace where you get a smile! I just came in for some champagne and Jameson and was literally greeted with a look of disgust that just reads «oh great another customer» not something you want from a service industry! So glad Unilocal is here to warn people about this.

My favorite wine store in Stamford. Great selection of all kind of spirits — beer to wine to single malt scotch. The store is not overwhelming and easy to grasp, with all the wines organized by the region, and the rest of the spirits organized by the type. Store owner, Zak, has a great wealth of knowledge and always available to help when advice is requested. All the wines and spirits are very well priced, and 10% discount is offered on most of mixed case wine purchases. Store also stocks a lot of unique products, from growers champagne to 30 years old single malt scotch to cult California wines and Champagnes. Store also conducts wine tasting every Friday and Saturday offering good wines to try. Lastly, if the wine or spirit is not available in the store, make sure to ask Zak — if wine is available in Connecticut, he will get it for you!
