We checked in and went to our room. Two of the four bathroom light bulbs are burned out. Went to call the front desk only to learn that the phone cord was yanked out of the phone and broken inside the phone. There was no back on the tv remote so the batteries fell out. We specifically booked this hotel for the indoor pool for my kids. The indoor pool isn’t very indoor. Two window are completely missing allowing the 40 degree wind to blow through. Tried the exercise room. Neither the treadmill nor the tv works in there. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the evening and morning has in store for us. If it wasn’t the kids bedtime we would check out and go elsewhere.

This hotel is a good, comfortable place to sleep. It’s clean, convenient to the highway, and they have a free breakfast from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. I booked this hotel on Hotwire and ended up getting it for around $ 50/​night. Definitely worth it. I wouldn’t pay more knowing that I can get it for that price.
The front desk staff were very accommodating. For some reason Hotwire had me listed as needing a smoking room, but I don’t smoke. The staff looked for a nonsmoking room on the the second floor which I preferred. By they way, they have smoking rooms if you need to smoke. The smoking rooms are sectioned off and separated by the glass door in the hallway.
The room was very clean and the mattresses seemed new. They have a flat screen television that gets a few channels including HBO and wifi is free (but a little slow). The room has a small fridge and microwave so you could store a few snacks or leftovers if you needed to.
The fitness center is nothing to talk about, you’ll really need to head to a real gym if you want to get in a good workout.
There’s a Walmart, Starbucks, IHOP, Hooters, and Sonic very close by.

This hotel has been way more than we expected based on online reviews. The lobby and dining area is nice, the desk staff was very friendly, the room was way bigger than what we expected, and the bed was incredibly comfy. The room was even more upgraded than we expected with a newer microwave, mini fridge and a flat screen TV (as opposed to the old school TV in pictures). The reason that they get two stars deducted is because of the room cleanliness; they could use to focus on picking up from the last tenant better. Items found: beer can, old styrofoam fountain drink cup, a sock on the chair, bar of soap in shower (with hairs-​gross!), and (even more gross) a half used bottle of lotion on the bedside table. This took our great experience from 5 stars to 3. We plan on doing another mini staycation here again, but we are hoping they will clean up better!

Nice to write a good hotel review for a change because I’ve been disappointed with this chain’s — Choice Hotels — hotels in this part of the country recently. My number one complaint is windows that won’t open and very bad ventilation systems, but this place is excellent in all respects. They even had a free wine and snack bar in the evening!
