Hands To Hold Salon

Awesome salon. Clean and quiet. Ms Kelly is very nice as well as all the nail technicians. They always do a careful job when doing manicures/​pedis and waxing. I moved from Woodbridge and started using this salon a year ago and had never had bad service ever.

A friend and me came in for her birthday. She received and pedi and I wanted a full set. I figured they would take us in at the same time. The one lady who greeted us got my friend and asked me to sit and talk to her as I waited for her to finish my friend so she could do mine. I asked who would be doing mine so we could leave at the same time and she replied to a man who was over there and he’s almost done. I sit her writing this review as my friend is almost done and I am still waiting. I have been here before needless to say I won’t be back.

I’m always quite picky about my salons and the way that my nails and hands are handled. I hesitated to try a new salon, but since I had been unsatisfied with others in the area, I decided to go to Hands to Hold after reviewing their organized website.
I am pleased to announce that I had a fantastic experience with the woman who did my gel manicure today. She was kind and paid great attention to detail. I felt like she really cared about how I felt about the outcome of the nails, all while engaging me in friendly conversation.
My nails turned out beautiful. Clean and neat and pretty close to perfect.
I will definitely be returning as I felt very comfortable in the welcoming environment and the results exceeded my expectations by miles.

This place isn’t too great. I paid extra for the pedi with extra massage, but I felt as though I got less than the average pedi offers.
Prices are a little higher than the average nail salon in the area. $ 8 for French tip!
The chairs are very old and the buttons were broken. The place is cluttered and dusty. Very dusty. Lots of out of season decorations. Kinda like a depressing garage sale.
No way I’d come back here.

Absolutely horrible experience. I’ve been to this nail salon a few other times and each time you think I would learn my damn lesson. Absolutely horrible customer service. I went in well before the shop was suppose to close and the technician immediately began to rush. I showed him a picture and he barely acknowledged the photo of what I wanted done and began to do a full gel set… when I saw my nails I was horrified it looked terrible. I kindly told him that it wasn’t what the photo looked like at all and both him and the manager began to speak in their native language which is absurdly rude since I don’t get what they were saying, I’m all about speaking in your language but not when you have a business to run. I told them that it’s not how I wanted my nails they attempted to convince me by some miracle it was going to get better with the gel… WHAT? I told then to remove the acrylic and that I wanted out. They kept going back and forth in their language which made me feel so special. I wouldn’t go here even if it’s the last salon on earth. Horrible terrible place. Not worth my time for a visit but worth my time for a negative review so people don’t have to go through what I went through.
You get one star only because I have to

second visit. moderate prices. friendly service getting toenails done so wife won’t accuse me of having caraboo toes. the foot and calf massage was nice too after. day of stop and go traffic

I’ve been going here almost 3 years. They can be a bit pricey. I’ve strayed over to a few other nail salons in the 3 years I’ve been here just to see what they were about but no one has done a better job than Hands to Hold. The other salons just didn’t compare.
I usually go on a weekday so it’s less crowded and I never have to wait. I take my daughter with me and Kelly is the best and pampers her so much. I really like all the ladies (and gentlemen) that work here. There isn’t one person I wouldn’t let give me a pedicure, they’re all nice and do a great job.

Never again. The service was awful. My daughter and I both hot mani/pedi’s. Both technicians were very distracted the entire time. While she was filing my nails I asked her to stop because she kept filing them down crooked and didn’t understand his to fix them properly when I asked. I left the salon with my nails looking the same as when I entered, but with s clear coat. The next day my clear coat polish was peeling off in pieces. My toenails the same. My daughter’s color fell off 2 of her nails the same night.
Don’t go here. It’s a waste of money. A monkey could have done s better job.

I visited here with my daughter (6yo) and had a great mother daughter pedi! The staff was very nice and helpful. They offered things without being pushy. We got to relax and have a good time. Usually when I have gone to nail salons the staff is talking in their native language the whole time, today even if the staff was talking to each other they were doing it in english and allowing me to participate in the conversation. Prices were good. I will definitely be returning :)

I went once and it was OK. Nothing made me want to return. The place has a worn out appearance. Got a fill and the service was fine. TV blaring the whole time — so if you like that, they have it. Doesn’t really lend itself to a relaxing atmosphere. Price was similar to nicer places in town.

Made an appointment for 1015. Arrived early. Sat in a broken pedi chair for 35 min. Water turned cold from waiting so long. No one helped me. Walked out with wet cold feet and no one noticed. NEVER GOING BACK!!!

I had my eyebrows waxed here, the next day my whole entire head was red and blistering. I wouldn’t recommend coming here for a professional wax if that is what you’re looking for. If you simply don’t have time to go anywhere else then this should be your last choice. I also had a gel mani and regular pedi. The gel came right off two days later. I have had my nails done better elsewhere, and for a lot less. This place is way over priced and the results do not match up.

Yes, I am of the male gender. Yes, I got my eyebrows waxed. It was fantastic! In and out in 5 minutes! You can’t pass up $ 10 for erasing that caterpillar from between my eyes! I will be going back to this shop many more times!

Nice little nail salon in the not so nice area of Stafford. Cute and comfortable inside. Some of their massage chairs appear to be broken. Uses OPI polish. They have 3 levels of pedi and mani, each a few dollars extra. I got the Deluxe with was supposed to come with a glass of wine, but I didn’t get it… Nails looked good. A little pricey for Stafford, but overall, not a bad joint. Clean.

I have had much better. I called the salon to inquire about their $ 35 early bird mani/​pedi special. They told me to come on in and I headed over. Next time I should do an appt or go during a quieter time. The tech seemed rushed to just get the mani/​pedi done as soon as possible.
One of my huge pet peeves is being rushed during a «relaxing» time and when all the techs in the room say one thing in English and continue the rest of their conversation in Vietnamese. I cannot stand that!
I would have loved to converse with them more but they seemed content to speak to each other only.
The tech also seemed a bit rough, but fast, with the mani/​pedi. It was too methodical for her. I really wanted to relax and appreciate the «me» time, but everything was bam, bam, bam.
The problem came when I went to pay. They said it was $ 40. When I told them I had called inquiring about their internet deal of $ 35, she asked me to prove it. I pulled out my smartphone to prove it and it wasn’t until I said I could prove it that she said she would «allow» it this time. Whatever. But the tech still rang me up for $ 40, so I objected and after they conversed in Vietnamese for a bit, I «won», Yippee.
So now you had a new client that could have potentially returned, but not after all that. No thank you. I’ll stick with my favorite place All About Nails in Dumfries. I was a fool to go anywhere else.

goooo julie… i love your work but its soooo far from my place. im just lazy but if i want to get a really well done pedicure then i need to take the drive.
