On the drive over called for directions, also made sure the room was ready, had a wedding to attend, and really needed to shower, shave and get out on the road. Mentioned to the hotel manager, that we couldn’t wait to get to the room to do all these things, they were aware we were headed somewhere important. Got to the hotel and they tell us that the water was shut off and it’s been this way for awhile! Asked for an ETA and they said about an hour. We asked for some assurances because we were going to be late, still they said an hour. First time they said water was shut off due to an emergency, second time they said it was because they were doing some remodeling, third they said there was a leak in the building. How much BS can you swing. Tried to purchase bottled water from the vending machine, $ 2 lost, the machine is empty and took the money. I can’t understand why the hotel manager didn’t tell us about the water problem earlier when we spoke. The water took a couple hours. Missed the wedding. First room they gave smelled of urine, like someone spent a week pissing in the corner. Rooms were nice enough, looked to be newly remodeled. Internet is wired and not the fastest. That day, once in the room, trying to call the front desk, they stopped answering the phones. No accountability. The last straw was when they didn’t honor the rate they quoted days ago when the reservation was made.
Amenities: Microwave and refrigerator in the rooms, but not in all. Rooms are comfortable and there is ample parking. Free Internet, although wired, they offer a cord free of charge.
I didn’t care for this place much. I wish I checked the Internet for reviews instead of word of mouth. The rate for a double room, two queen beds was in excess of $ 120 dollars. Could’ve stayed at the Hilton. Maybe.
