Delightful. Set in a lovely area on the incredible Golden Isles is this wine shop. Not only do they sell wine but the store is overflowing with funny little items and cool wine related gifts. It’s fun to wander through and drink it all in. Speaking of drinking, there’s complimentary wine tasting where the staff is encouraging and entertaining. I’d gladly buy every single wine they offered.
It’s a great store and a wonderful way to buy wine. It’s not a huge box store or a grocery store where you set your drink next to the cereal on a conveyor belt. Just like St. Simons island itself, purchasing a bottle here is a personal and organic experience; relaxing, friendly, and surrounded by like minded lushes.
Every time I visit the golden isle, I will most definitely stroll in for a bottle or two and pick up a couple funny gifts for those people who have everything. (I plan on giving my employer a coaster that proclaims «you’re not the boss of me!»)
Now excuse me while I go and enjoy my sangria…

What a lovely shop and a lovely owner who introduced us to some wonderful wines and gadgets. We ended up buying a wonderful mango wine and of all things Choco Noir which we enjoyed over ice this evening.

I was thrilled to find a wine shop on this sleepy little island. My happiness grew when, Angie the effervescent store keeper welcomed us with a complimentary wine tasting. (Angie is also a hostess at the Rooftop at Ocean Lodge!).
FH (future Hubby) and I sampled about 6 wines. All the wines were delicious and unique and we ended up purchasing a mango moscato and a vanilla Pinot Grigio.
Angie also educated us on the difference in a wine’s taste with the use of an aerator and then let us taste. You can really taste a difference.
The shop itself has all kinds of gifts and goodies including cork holders, dish towels, stemware, wine holders, serving ware & more. I found several items, including an actual wine called the B word which makes the perfect gift for a friend lol. There were also pin up theme items and even gifts for the golfer.
If I’m ever so lucky to return to St Simon’s you best believe I’ll be restocking my wines from Wine Body & Soul.
