Winn Dixie

My local grocery store. It’s not huge, but they manage to carry a great selection of foodstuffs, including produce. The store is clean, the staff is friendly, the prices are good (not to mention the gas discounts w/​purchase), and the cashiers keep the lines moving.

Everything is waaay overpriced. The bakery is just sorry: many items with no price tag, not just one item or two, MANY… I dont’ get it. Took a small sandwich from the bakery, no price. At cash register, manager that was helping with check out says: you took one with no price. Me: none of them had a price tag. Manager calls assistant to go and check out price: she comes back: $ 4.99. Me: what??? It’s such a small sandwich! Five dollars??? Well, paid for the sandwich anyway. Maybe it’ll be so good, I won’t be disappointed… Well, it was stale. Stale overpriced sandwich. To add insult to injury, I asked for some cash back at the register, and they (same manager) short changed me. Noticed and came back for my money. No apology, nothing. Their BOGO sucks too, as many times you’ll be charged for items that are supposed to be free after buying one. So you have to check your receipt carefully, all the time. Too much hassle… I’m just switching to Publix. Better costumer service and a great bakery where everything is fresh.

I was out of town when they made the switch. When I left it was sweetbay, I came back and they were closed doing interviews inside.
Now they are open and operating as Winn Dixie.
I just went in to grab milk, but it’s pretty much the same as before.
Wish they would have spent some time and money cleaning it so it’s not so dirty looking when you walk inside.
C’mon, this is where you buy your food from! Let’s put in a little effort people.
Will you see a lot of check ins from me here? You bet. It’s very convenient to me.
I mean my whole reason for going today was I needed milk for my babes. And dog food.
I don’t do the «big grocery shopping» days. And if /​when I do, that’s saved for SAMs :)
So will I be back? Yes — several times.
I just wish they would take the time and give the place a much needed scrub.
