Jimmy Meatballs

options galore. .. well meatball options galore. .. never have I seen so many unique creations in the meatball genre. I like that you can do a 3 meatball sampler. My fave is the buffalo chicken ball. Enjoy!

They were a hit at our charity event! Light and delicious food! I like the creativity in the menu.
The staff was very nice and upbeat! I would definitely schedule them again for our next event!

Went here at the 4^th of July food truck rally at Channelside, and got the Death by Chocolate Balls, it was out of this world good.
Cake, brownie, Nutella, deep fried to order. It was as good as it sounds, if not better. I would definitely seek out this food truck to get food from them. I’ll keep them at 4-​stars for now, for not actually trying there meatballs.
And the immature child in me, was amused by how everything is called balls. It obviously meant for a chuckle.

I had the chance to try Jimmy Meatballs at the tree lighting after hearing a lot of awesome things about the food.
I got three meatballs — buffalo chicken, sesame ginger, and Korean pork. The sesame ginger and Korean pork were amazing but the chicken meatball was really tough and not that great.
I thought the price point was a little high for what I got and I didn’t leave full. I probably could have eaten more meatballs. I’d definitely go again if I came across Jimmy Meatball in the future!

Awesome food! We had dinner from here tonight at Hyde Park Village and it was fantastic. My husband and I shared a plate of Buffalo chicken and Korean BBQ and they were delicious! Kids had tenders and fries and those were really good as well. Can’t wait to try more from this place soon!

Jimmy Meatballs made an appearance tonight at the Hyde Park Village Enchanted Tree Lighting Party. I don’t get the chance to eat from food trucks often, so I’d already prepared to break my calorie budget and this truck caught my eye.
There’s a bit of an innuendo to its name, and JM plays on that with the back of its truck saying ‘Brake 4 Balls’ as well as a meal called Sample Jimmy’s Balls. I dig it. I think the bit of dirty humor made me want to try these meatballs even more.
I actually did Sample Jimmy’s Balls. They were delish! You get to pick three, so I chose Sesame Ginger, Buffalo Chicken, and Grandma’s Classic. The outright winner for me was the Sesame Ginger. If I wasn’t trying to lose weight I would’ve eaten a few orders of those, no joke.
My only objection is the price. It shouldn’t cost $ 7.50 for three meatballs. They were good, but I was expecting a bigger portion size. Other than that, I thought Jimmy’s balls were excellent!

By far the best food truck I’ve ever been to! Everytime I’m at an event I look for the truck!

I came across this food truck at the Tampa Bay Downs one Saturday and fell in love. I tried the sampler and chose the Sesame Ginger, Buffalo Chicken and Korean BBQ. Each of them were delicious and it left me wanting to try more!

I frequent this truck whenever they’re around. The BeachBall (crabcakes) over the dill slaw is TO DIE FOR! Only once did I get a mushy meatball & it was the teriyaki or brown sauce one & it was only once. This kid works hard & the meatballs & fries are superb.

Jimmy Meatballs was close to my office at lunch time one day, so I walked over after drooling and antagonizing over their menu! The thing I liked best about the food truck was that I heard (and smelled) some frying happening in the truck — not just the ping of microwaves like some other food trucks.
You can order a slider, a sandwich, or a sampler. There are about 5 – 7 different varieties of meatballs to choose from. I decided to go with a sampler platter — I got a classic (traditional meatball with marinara), Korean BBQ (with a tangy cole slaw), and the chocolate ball. The dessert ball was actually my favorite — chocolate cake and Nutella deep fried in a pastry. It was awesome!
The person I met, who I am assuming was Jimmy, seemed very hard working. If I have the chance to visit Jimmy Meatballs again in the future, I definitely will!

Tried Jimmy’s for the first time Saturday at Florida Ave brewery. I have to give high praise. The meatball sub I got was med-​well and tender. The seasoning was spot on and the marinara was flavorful. I am definitely a fan, check this truck out!

This is a fun food truck and they work to serve you quickly. I tried the same sampler as the other reviewer with similar opinions. $ 7.50. My favorite was the Korean – flavorful, balanced and with a kick. The slaw, dripped with the meatball was a nice finish. This ball did not hold together well-​was «mushy» but still flavorful and a favorite. The sesame ginger was slightly different textured and mildly flavored. I didn’t taste sesame but clearly Asian gingers. The buffalo chicken was pretty non-​descript after the last two. Presentation was stellar on the 3 though I hated seeing the amount of throwaways involved with 3 small trays and a large tray (though necessary with the wetness and space to «taste». I also tried the mini Jimmy fries, the small priced right at $ 2 though too heavily salty for me – with season salt and cayenne. Really eroded the tongue flavors with the earlier meaty choices. Can’t wait to try the beach balls next time. or maybe the death by chocolate or… mmm. certainly worthy of your taste buds. Icy Coke products.

Not sure why there hasn’t been a review for this truck yet. Jimmy has been around the Bay area since early this year. At any rate, the food here is great. You can order the meatballs 3 different ways: on a sub, on a plate, or as a slider. I prefer to get them on a plate because I don’t like filling myself up with bread and there’s usually other trucks around that I want to try… after all, stomach space is valuable real estate. :-P
During one of my earlier visits to this truck, I tried the Beach Ball Slider. It’s essentially a crab cake, but better. It’s a blend of crab and shrimp that’s breaded complemented by a lemon dill slaw. It was delicious and had excellently balanced flavors.
On my most recent visit, my friends and I got the 3-​ball sampler plate: Korean BBQ, Buffalo Chicken and Sesame Ginger. All of them were great, though just a touch too salty. Based on the presentation, it’s definitely apparent that much care is taken with the preparation — great contrasting colors, textures and flavors.
Overall, this is one of the more unique trucks and one that will be around for a while. This truck can often be found at most food truck rallies. If you haven’t already, definitely check out this truck. You won’t be disappointed.
