Al Lang Stadium

Tried to go to the SPX at Al Lang tonight. I skate down, buy a ticket at the box office, walk up to the gate and security tells me I’m not allowed to bring my skateboard inside. I’m sure I’m not the only person that skated to a skateboarding event. Might have been a good idea to advertise that one form of transportation to the stadium is banned.

I like this stadium. It’s good size and the seating is excellent. There’s really not any bad seats.
Plenty of vending areas, Bathroom lines are ridiculous, not enough stalls and at least 2 are always backed up.
A great place to watch the Rowdies play

Wow the new stadium is beautiful; very nice upgrades with the seating and concessions and a gorgeous view of the water and a larger score board. My only complaint is the change of my favorite general admission section being prime seating; never understood why it wasn’t before! But now the kids can’t sit behind the goal area and interact with the players as they had previously.
Go Rowdies! As long as we have «Ralph’s mob» chanting and drumming, all is good!
Also great, cheap parking options.

I went to Al Lang for the first time a few weeks back for a Rowdies game. I thought I would enjoy the game, but I didn’t realize how much I would love the experience!
First of all, I think there’s something kind of cool (in a slightly weird way) about a baseball field that primarily hosts soccer. To my knowledge, baseball hasn’t been played there in awhile.
The stadium has an intimate feel, and a cool location right near the water in downtown St. Pete. I know a lot of people go to MacDinton’s or another bar downtown and then walk to the Rowdies game from there, which is another perk of the stadium’s location.
Perhaps the most fun aspect of the experience was the diehard Rowdies fanbase filling a section of the stands. They added a very fun energy to the game experience. I realize that has nothing to with the stadium, but it was very cool nonetheless.

I am a Tampa Bay Rowdies season ticket holder, and I love coming to matches at Al Lang. The atmosphere is always a lot of fun, and the club’s management has taken into account feedback from the fans and supporters as to what they’d like to see more of in the stadium, like better beer selections.
The TBR organization does a lot to engage with and involve the fans, such as providing many opportunities after matches to interact with the players and get autographs.
In my opinion, going to a Rowdies match is one of the best per-​dollar entertainment opportunities in the Tampa Bay area. You get exciting football in a neat stadium (yes, it is a little aged, but they’re making the most of it), with a great environment. I have to give a big shout-​out to the Rowdies supporter group Ralph’s Mob. They really add a lot to the matchday environment, with their clever signs (called tifo), chants, drumming, and even green & gold smoke bombs.
Go catch a match with our Rowdies, it is a lot of fun – they’re a kick in the grass!

Even though Al Lang Stadium is an older stadium, what goes on inside the stadium is always a fun and enjoyable time. It may be a baseball stadium, but the 2012 NASL Champions the Tampa Bay Rowdies Pro Soccer Team have made it their own. You can always hear the amazing energy from the crowd at these games outside of the stadium and you cant help but be dragged in. I will admit, the stadium itself needs a lot of work but, it does not deter anyone away from the excitement on the field. Whether you are a soccer fan or not, I suggest checking out a Tampa Bay Rowdies game. It is like nothing you have ever experienced.

Situated right on the water in downtown St Pete, this is a great old stadium. The Rays used to hold spring training here, but they got a new complex built for them in Punta Gorda. Al Lang is now home to Tampa Bay FC and they set it up nicely for soccer.

minor league ANYTHING is always fun, but division 2 soccer is a royal blast. fc tampa bay is also one of the most professionally run minor league sporting outfits i have ever seen. the team is well put together, and puts on a great show. if you love soccer you’ll love watching these matches. ownership shows up, interacts with the fans and is clearly engaged.
al lang field isn’t the greatest for viewing soccer, some of the sight lines are messed up, BUT it does create an intimate environment and no seat has a bad view.
what sets fc tampa bay apart though, is ralph’s mob, an independent supporters group that flood al lang and keeps it raucous with songs, chants and cheers.
if you have never experienced live football, fc tampa bay will get you hooked. a great time, a great value. can’t recommend it enough.
and come on up and sit with the mob. i guarantee you you will be singing your heart out before half time.
