I love this place so much! Every year I stay at the tradewinds resorts and I eat at the flying bridge almost everyday for lunch or dinner. The food is great, the bar is incredible and the beachy vibe makes it even better. Friendly staff and quick service make it an overall great experience every single time!

I love this place. It’s small, hard to get a table but, if you can, you’ll get real good food with competitive prices. Go there.

Had lunch there twice on our recent visit to SPB! The atmosphere and food at the Flying Bridge was terrific. Lovely beach resteraunt with a great bar menu. Best part of the experience was our server Alyx. She was most attentive and friendly. She made some great menu recommendations and should be commended on her great service. Alyx made us feel welcome. We will be back later this spring and plan to visit Alyx and the Flying Bridge soon.

Staying at the Island Grand and the Flying Bridge was very convenient, a pleasant surprise for a beach lunch. The fish tacos were delicious and the service was great. It was very busy and all of the servers were working super hard, but were attentive and very professional. Can’t wait to eat there again!

Since we were staying at The Tradewinds Resort, we chose to have lunch by the pool area at The Flying Bridge. What you will find here are mostly wraps, burgers, salads and sandwiches. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and it was average, nothing bad but nothing spectacular. The kids had chicken nuggets with fries and my wife had a Almond Fruit Salad that came served inside a pineapple. Expect to pay hotel prices for average food options. For example, a hamburger will cost $ 12.00 and a fruit salad will run about the same. The restaurant does have a view of the beach/ocean and the pool area. They offer a full bar and you can either sit inside or out. Our service was friendly and prompt so that’s why I’ve chosen 3 stars.

We had lunch here during a conference. I ordered the cob salad which was decent. It’s typical, expensive resort food. The service was great.

Food and drinks are good. It’s an ok lunch. But know that it’s not a 5 star restaurant it’s basically bar food. I had the chicken cobb salad the other day though and it was very good lettuce and avocado were fresh and the chicken was wonderful. I will be getting that the next time we’re there.

I agree with the other reviewers, that the service was really good. However, the food was only good, not great. I had the Gyro. they have no idea how to make tzatziki sauce, which really makes a Gyro My husband had the Grouper sandwich and he liked it Our server was Jerica very nice, but never asked if I wanted another beer. It would have made her tip larger, and I sat there for sometime with an empty glass.

Service was amazing. Food-not so much. Grouper was tasteless, flat patty. Food is over priced for the quality. But it’s hotel food, which is par for the course.

Relaxed atmosphere, casual attire and seating — bar or table seating available. Had the crab cake sandwich, which came deep fried, prefer it traditional — should have asked and not assumed. Flavor was good. Recommend they use a different choice in bun to complement sandwich. Would visit again.

Kevin, our bartender was super friendly and made us feel at home. We love the grilled shrimp and get it every time. They are coked perfectly, never dry with just the right amount of spicy seasoning. The sauce that comes with it should be sold by the bottle.

Weak sauce. The mango alcoholic drink my husband and I ordered contained little to no alcohol, and we do not look like we’re under age. What a rip off. Seven dollar drinks that tasted like a virgin drink. The cheese sticks we ordered were frozen and tasted like they had been microwaved. Very disappointed. Maybe get a professional mixologist who knows the right measurements of alcohol in a drink. Birds wander about freely INSIDE in the restaurant. Bird feces much? Do we need to call Jon Taffer? You decide.

Wife had the Mediterranean veggie wrap which she enjoyed and I had the chowder and a gyro. The soup was great, and I would have it again. however the gyro was beyond disappointing. I had asked the waitress if the gyro was good and she made the mistake of saying yes. Not only was the mead burnt, it had only 2 flimsy slices barely worth mentioning. I would have told the waitress sooner how disappointed I was, but we didn’t see her again till long after I gave in and finished the gyro from hunger. I did make it clear to her when she finally came with the bill, and to her credit she did take the gryo off the bill. It is because of this I would give them another chance, and because the soup and wrap were both good, not to mention you can’t beat the view.

Nice place to catch lunch before hitting the sand again! I would have given five stars but the service was a tad slow.

The service: really, really good. Again, the waitstaff seem genuinely interested in making sure you enjoy the experience. Our waitress was very down to earth with us. When we asked how a certain item on the menu was, she was very honest. The location is wonderful. 10 steps from the beautiful white sands of St. Pete Beach. Burgers are real winners, juicy and char-grilled. I recommend the burger with guacamole and bacon. Mmm.

Flying Bridge has a great patio. My table was right up by the sand. Sitting on the beach in December made me crave a fruity cocktail. Their drink selection did not disappoint. I had the Marvelous Mango cocktail. It was quite tasty although I’m not sure how much liquor was in it. For lunch, I had the grouper sandwich. Although it was a it pricey, the grouper was perfect. Unfortunately, it was on a pretty bad bun. If I’m spending $ 17+ on a sandwich, some decent bread would be good.

The restaurant is anchored in the lagoon at the Tradewinds Resort and is an authentic Florida Cracker house although the redesign makes it hard to imagine it being one. It’s sunny and cozy inside with several small tables around the main bar. My friend and I shared a few drinks and the Nachos. They were cheesy and beefy though a bit on the greasy side. Pigeons and small wrens come walking around looking for hand-outs which is a little distracting. I saw people feeding them by hand although there’s signs posted around the room saying ‘DON’T FEEDTHEBIRDS! At least they didn’t get up on the table to join us.
