Barracuda Deli Cafe

Omg. Can you say authentic? Delicious? Life changing? We ate here while on vacation in St petes with the kids. The sandwiches were amazing. I can’t say enough. We stopped in twice. Once being when we were leaving and driving to the airport. We couldn’t leave without one more taste! We still talk about this place and it’ll be the first place we go back to the next time we are in st. Petes. Can’t wait!

I usually look past leaving reviews, but this… I couldn’t even speak – only grunt – once I bit into my Mojo Heaven. My husband had the Cuban, and up until now, didn’t even like them. This is the best Cuban food I’ve had in the Bay Area. They painstakingly construct the café con leche. Wonderful beachy environs.

Wow, just wow. I thought my expectations might be a little high coming in due to the rave reviews posted before mine. The food was incredible!

Cuban was perhaps the best sandwich I’ve had. So flavorful and generous portions. Very friendly staff and nice clean atmosphere. Definitely a place to return to if given the opportunity.

Absolutely amazing. Great, friendly service and awesome prices. I would come back here a million times! Tuesday special was 5 tacos, rice and beans, and a drink (including domestic beer) for a little over $ 9… Can’t beat that!

DITTO Jacobo — after reading yours and other reviews and saw top ratings, we weren’t disappointed. Hubby & I had cuban sandwich with a side of, what else… potato salad. YUMMO!

I got a Unilocal account specifically to write a review for this place. My family and I were on vacation in St Pete and went here for dinner. We went in kind of late and only realized that once we got there. The owners welcomed us in anyway. They are EXTREMELY hospitable. So kind, warm, and genuine. Amazing service. The sandwiches were amazing, too. My whole family was sharing bites of each others’ food because it was all so good. We loved this place. It was a highlight of our trip.

Hubby was making all kinds of noises eating his Cuban… He’s Dominican and extremely picky about his food and claimed it was the best sandwich he’s eaten in a long time!
The picky daughter LOVED her Caesar wrap and devoured the other half later and still commented on how delicious it was.
I had a platter with rice, pork and salad with a side potato salad… All solid at the time we ate it and 5 hours later :)

5 stars!!! Any person who says differently than 5 stars is, simply put, dumb.

Amazing Cuban Sandwiches! I searched on Unilocal to find a place near our hotel. I wanted my family to try Cuban sandwiches for the first time. We bought The Best Cuban and Mojo Heaven. We all love The Best Cuban! The sandwiches are huge! One sandwich can feed 2 people. We bought enough that we had plenty of leftovers for the next day. Staff was very friendly.

I have only ordered delivery, so I can’t say anything about the establishment, but the food I have ordered is WONDERFUL! I’ve chatted with Maria, the co-​owner with her husband. She’s a wonderful woman– she states her children & in-​laws help during the lunch hour which is when they are busiest. I order delivery on the weeknights– very fast delivery and well prepared.
I have tried the barracuda bowl with yellow rice and charro beans– very good and filling. The mojo pork is delicious.
What I keep going back for though is the cuban!!! It’s DELICIOUS! And I have Cubano friends and have spent a LOT of time in Miami! The cuban is not PERFECTLY traditional– not as flat and has salami on it– but the changes are DELICIOUS! It’s got the perfect amount of pickles and dressing. The quality of the ingredients it top notch (I took one apart to see before I ate it). Mojo pork is moist and flavorful and ever-​so-​slightly molds into the bread. The balance of flavors is PERFECT. I always have the potato salad as a side which, as one other reviewer said, is a good pairing. Be aware, the sandwiches are HUGE– you can share… but I always order full size and have for lunch the next day or even breakfast ;~)
I highly recommend this place– great delivery and delicious, home made food. You get a LOT for your money!

Very good food and the service was amazing. The 8″ Cuban was delicious and massive. Took half of it «to go.» The Barracuda burrito bowl was also a hit and a very hefty portion. Can’t wait to come back in February!

After eating at a little joint that a fellow Unilocaler claimed had the best Cuban in area, I can confidently say that Barracuda’s put that little sammich to shame!
Be warned, it is easy to drive by and never notice this little hole in the wall (aka «Hidden Gem»)!
I ordered the Cuban here and the meat was insanely moist flavored perfectly. The sandwich wasn’t as pressed as I’m used to, but I’m totally okay with that. They had just the right amount of pickle and dressings and I kind of want to move in with this family right now.
We also had the tres leches cake, made by the owner’s wife, and it was phenomenal.

The café con leche is on point and anything Mojo pork is good. They are fast and the restaurant is clean with nice indoor seating.

Super nice, great service !! The food was delicious! The mojo heaven and tacos, red beans and rice and corn all superb!!!

I highly recommend «The Best Cuban». The name is appropriate. The 8″ is generous in size and can easily be shared. It comes with a side — potato salad, cole slaw, chips, or beans and rice. I had the potato salad and it was a perfect bookend to The Best Cuban. Delicious!

Oh man. I really wanted to love this place. You walk in and can tell it’s a labor of love. It’s family owned and it seems like the entire family gives it their all.
It definitely has more of a Latin feel than a regular deli. The smells were great and the owner was nice. He explained to me that when they bought the deli they had to spend some time rebranding themselves because the previous owner had run it into the ground.
I ordered the pulled pork bowl with yellow rice and black beans. The size was extremely large but it was mostly from the rice and beans. The pulled pork flavor was great but there wasn’t much of it. For $ 9 it was a little steep given the massive amount of beans and rice.
Would I return? Yes but I would order something different.

Except for the addition of salami and mayo (which we had them leave off), this place had an authentic Cuban sandwich. First time we’ve ever gotten one this side of the Howard Frankland!
Nice people, great service and very clean! We’ll start making this a regular stop on our beach vacations.

Places like this are why I love Unilocal.I would never had considered eating at a place called barracudas deli while vacationing on St. Pete beach.
It is so much more then a deli. It’s it very clean and the owners are really friendly. And they have several sandwiches as well as many Spanish and American dishes.
The food was fantastic. As many other Unilocalers have mentioned the Cuban sandwich is one of the best I have ever had, the chicken burrito was loaded with flavor, and the homemade salsa wanted to make me bottle it up and send it home. Everything was so fresh and so full of flavor I wished I could have tried more of their offerings.
If your at or near the beach this place will exceed your expectations. Prices are very reasonable.
