The fish tacos were great. I upped my order to 3 instead of the regular 2, so I paid somewhere around $ 12 for some of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. My only complaint was that they really didn’t have any options for sides when I visited. I would’ve liked to see a fresh quinoa, orzo, or similar salad offered but I think they just had chips and beverages. Overall great tacos, would love to visit again.

I love food trucks, I am lovingly referred to by friends as the«Food truck tramp» as I switch favorites all the time. My new favorite you ask? TIKITIM’S! This place is legit! I don’t even like fish tacos, but everyone kept telling me how I had to try their fish tacos… I have been converted. I am pretty sure that the noises coming from me as I inhaled my first fish taco from this little blue truck were pornographic. Luckily for me, my friends liked them just as much. If Tim weren’t married, I would propose… but instead, I will just stalk this truck and eat all the tacos I can before food truck season is done. Well done Tiki Tim’s!

Totally legit. Both the chicken and fish tacos are great, and they get a bonus for breading and frying the fish. They’re pretty large for the price, too. More food trucks, please!

I absolutely love the pineapple ginger slaw. Mixed with the pulled pork, it’s dream worthy.

I am a sucker for anything with the word«tiki» in it, and luckily for me, Tiki Tim’s did not disappoint. Great food and great service. Also, the little girl assistant was tons of adorable. Since I do not work in either downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul and thus never really get the opportunity to indulge in the numerous food truck options available, I always jump at the chance to check one out whenever the manfriend and I are at Hammerheart Brewery on a Friday or Saturday. This time, it was Tiki Tim’s. I heard their crabcakes are INSANELY good, which they must be since they were sold out. Bummer, next time! So, option two: the fish tacos. Major win points: + the fish is fried to order! No greasy, sad, cold fried fish here! + the fish was crispy and tender, the fried batter was golden and gloriously seasoned without being overly greasy + the textures and flavors were amazing! Crispy, crunchy, savory, and tender with a nice spicy/zesty kick from their homemade sauce. I could easily eat those tacos daily. The tomatoes, cabbage, cilantro and a little lime were all the garnishes the taco needed. Seriously, this might be the perfect fish taco. I will definitely be getting food from Tiki Tim’s again, hopefully this time I’ll be able to get one of their tiki crab cakes before they’re all gone!

This is the best food truck Love the pulled pork best in town. The owners are so friendly and they accommodate to your needs too. They will even put your order in a bag if you ask.

Had the fish tacos at the Beer Dabbler this year. The best fish tacos I have had in Minneapolis. Super friendly staff! Great food experience!

We’ve been making a point of trying tons of food trucks at Mears Park when they’re out. Tiki Tim’s is our top so far. We got a full order of the Tiki Cakes and a full order of the fish tacos. Both were fresh, moist, flavorful and greatly sauced. Honestly, wish we’d each gotten a full order of each separately. Yhuuummmmy. The hubby did mention the soft tortilla for the taco seemed a bit weird, but we agreed it was probably for the taco challenged and to keep things from getting soggy and the like. Writing this review, I want all the food all over again.

As a general rule I usually don’t order seafood in Minnesota. However today I was in the mood for something a bit lighter and summery, so I went with the combo plate. SUPER good. The fish taco was substantial and full of flavor with a great sauce. The tiki cake(if I’m remembering that right — it was crab and shrimp) was really fresh and delicious. My new favorite food truck! Loved it.

I tried the combo plate, one fried fish taco and one crab/fish cake. The taco was great, a good size piece of fish, nice and crispy and well dressed with veggies and sauce. Crab/fish cake? Sorry can’t quite remember if this was just crab or a mixture, but it wasn’t so great. Tasted over cooked/fried and heavy handed on the sauce made the flavor get lost. Next time, 2 tacos please! :)

A relative newcomer to the food truck scene, I can see Tiki Tim’s making a name for themselves in what has become a pretty big sea of mobile dining options. As evidenced by the name, Tiki Tim’s focuses mainly on island inspired cuisine(save for the fried pickles). Their menu is fairly modest in size, comprised of Tiki(shrimp and crab) cakes, fish tacos, a Hawaiian influenced pulled pork sandwich and a smattering of side dishes. While the choices are limited, they’ve all been quite good. The fish tacos are the highlight for me, with generous pieces of crispy and not-too-greasy fish, but you really can’t wrong with anything(bring a knife and fork for the pork sandwich). The converted big blue Chevy is easy to spot on the streets, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Given that we’re about as far from the coasts as possible and a long haul from Hawaii, it’s nice to see someone aspiring to bring the tropical mindset to the streets of the Twin Cities.

This new truck popped up in Saint Paul a few weeks ago, and last week I had the chance to give it a whirl. They serve«island inspired» food, and when I looked at the menu I had some difficulty making a decision. Their three entrees that day were all up my alley. I’ll let them describe them. Fish Tacos– Whole wheat battered Tilapia filets topped with cilantro, green onion, red cabbage, tomato and our special garlic cream sauce wrapped in a flour tortilla from local La Perla Tortilleria Tiki Cakes — Crab and shrimp pressed into a patty with garlic, green & red onion, jalapenos, red bell pepper and our own special seasonings all breaded in panko bread crumbs and drizzled with a creamy roasted red bell pepper mayo Kalua Pork Sandwich — Tender seasoned slow roasted pork topped with homemade pineapple ginger coleslaw served on a toasted ciabatta roll from the Franklin Street Bakery If you know me, you’re betting I had the pork sandwich, and 98% of the time you would be right. Not that day my friends! I tried the combo platter where you get one Fish Taco and one Tiki Cake. The food was really solid. The fish in the taco was lightly battered, fried perfectly, and served with some very fresh tomato, cabbage, onion and cilantro. My only complaint was a lack of heat. I assumed the garlic cream sauce would have a bit more kick than it did. The taco was still very good, but I would have preferred a bit more spice. On the other hand, I could find no wrong with the Tiki Cake! The crab and shrimp were fresh, the red pepper mayo had some bite, and the veggies in the cake gave it a really nice texture. Crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. Very tasty! I will definitely try Tiki Tim’s again, but next time I’ll have to try the Kalua Pork Sandwich with a side of Tiki Cakes!

I headed to downtown St. Paul today to try and find a new food truck to try, and I found a NEW food truck. I haven’t gotten the whole«First to Review» ribbon in a long time, so way to go me. Tiki Tim’s is a bright blue truck that serves a pretty simple menu of Fish Tacos, Tiki Cakes, Kalua Pork and a potato mac salad. By the time I got there today they were out of Tiki Cakes, so I had fish tacos. They were really excellent. The fish was fried, but not greasy. I loved them. I can’t wait to get back any try the tiki cakes.
