I fly to Montana frequently and always try to have my layovers in MSP. I come here every time and get the meat and cheese plate with a glass of wine. However, I recommend getting a flight because you get more wine for a cheaper price!

Best place to eat in MSP airport! They have an extensive wine list and also sell full bottles of wine and other goodies. I’ve visited this location several times and the food items and service is fast and very nice.

It’s been a couple of months but meant to leave review for this place. Delicious sandwiches, freshly baked bread. If I hadn’t been on business travel would have been sorely tempted to try their wines and spend time here. This is a good find for an airport. Also great service and classy atmosphere. It’s small with limited seating so you may need to sit at bar.

Nice to have some decent wine while waiting for a flight. Our server(s) were far from friendly. Sat down and the she asked«did you just get here? It’s gonna be awhile.» Whatever, we browsed the menu and found something to drink. A different server took our order and just seemed angry the whole time. Never said you’re welcome, seemed irritated when asking for a second glass of wine. It was very strange.

Surdyk’s is such a refreshing alternative to a sea of Sharper Image clones, «Chili’s to Go,» or «Guy Fieri’s Latest Cry For Attention.» The shop is interesting on its own, a great place to pick up tasty deli food to take with you anywhere in the world. But the little restaurant area is a great touch. The panini was good. Surprisingly great spot for an airport. Surdyk’s is the perfect place for travelers who want something more satisfying than standard chain restaurant fare, or for when you just land in Minneapolis and it’s your 6th layover this week and all your flights have been horribly delayed and you turn your phone off of airplane mode and the first notification that pops is that Prince is dead and you just want to go somewhere to eat something original and good and watch videos of his performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or that time he covered Creep at Coachella on repeat.

Wish I had a chance to try the food. What a brutal experience with the server. Server didn’t want to clean a table for us even though we said we were in no rush. He wanted us to take a table that was too cramped to accommodate all of our luggage. Told me it was a big inconvenience for him. I tried to explain that we were in no rush and could just wait to which he replied«I don’t even care, my last day is Friday. Go somewhere else.» At this point we’ve decided we were not going to stay while this guy was working, however I thought I would let the manager know they had someone in staff telling people to go elsewhere. The manager shows up and this server now comes up to me in a confrontational manner and say«let’s see what you have to say to her.» I explain to her what happened and her only reply was«oh, sorry about that.» Hopefully staffing will be addressed, it’s a pity we didn’t even have a chance to sit down. Just in disbelief.

Incredible spot for being in an airport and exactly what we were looking for rather than the standard reheated stuff. This place is good enough, that we may start flying through so we can stop in. Wine bar and sandwich shop hook up in an airport and this is what you get — pure genius! We grabbed a couple sandwiches, a block of 6 year cheddar and a to go wine… absolutely brilliant. Not only is the place novel, the presentation and how they deliver made it even better. How many times have you been able to grab a prosciutto/pecorino and roasted turkey/manchego sandwich at an airports? Once… when you visit here! They have wine flights, solid beers and a selection of wine to go. The pinot grigio in a can is genius and the single serving small wine bottles with the built in cup — make that guy president! Not overly expensive and the only downside is the lack of seating in the actual restaurant, however, there’s plenty out in the middle of the thoroughfare. Absolutely incredible spot that will leave you wondering why we haven’t seen this in airports before!

Love this place. High quality food in the Minneapolis airport with great people watching seating right in the middle of the airport terminal. Whenever I have the time, I sit down for a salad but when I’m on the run, I’ll grab a chicken bahn mi sandwich and a kombucha from here. The prosciutto salad has enough prosciutto to feed 4 people, it’s insane. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the Msp airport(along with the the great places in concourse G)

Cool casual and actual food. Fresh and just right. Great wine. It might look like it’s in the middle of the chaos of central terminal but it’s actually pretty quiet inside. Go.

Why eat a simple cheeseburger when you can grab some marinated olives, a selection of cheeses and a bottle of Argentinian wine, which if you can figure out how to open it, makes your layover go way much better. Though I’m not sure if you’re actually allowed to drink your own purchased wine in the airport. Be sure you’re choosing a screwtop since the TSA goons probably nabbed your corkscrew. But hey, find a quiet spot and get your picnic on! Amazing selection of higher end delicious foods here, plus a proper restaurant if that’s your thing. Prices are a little high, but this isn’t McD’s folks. It’s good stuff!

Even though it gets crowded with airport traffic, they have some of the healthiest selections in the airport. Sandwiches made onsite for $ 9, variety of cold beverages for fair prices, and staff is energized and pretty nice. Cool thing, they have tv’s in every booth and have cute wine to go that’s TSA approved!

I look forward to having a layover at MSP so that I can come here, I LOVE it! Definitely as good as it gets when it comes to airport cuisine. Their wine selection is great and reasonably priced for being in an airport. They have several wine flights that you can choose from so you can try several different types as wine as well.(They also provide you with an information card so you can read about each of your wines as you sip them which I like) If I didn’t have you at wine flights, don’t worry, the food is amazing as well. Their charcuterie and cheese plates are fantastic. The entrees are great too, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. All high quality ingredients as well. The service is always quick and the staff is friendly as well – if you are in a rush they will wrap up your food to go for you.

Enjoyed a great meal with wife and 3yr old. We were trying to find something wholesome, old world, and well prepared. This place was fantastic. Recommend homemade pretzel, panini, liver mouse, and wine. Service was wonderful from Melanie! :-)

Wine flights significantly lessen flight whines. Add a pretzel or two, maybe a panini, and you’ll still be pleasantly satiated enough to be less bitchy to your fellow passengers and maybe even airport staff.

I consistently come here every time I fly back home from Minneapolis, which is a LOT! Airports are never much fun, but this place really transforms my airport visit and elevates it to a gourmet dining experience. Did I mention I love this place? It’s basically a wine and cheese bar with yummy charcuterie, sandwiches, salads and baked goods. You can get their food to-go and eat it on your flight also. The wine flights are really enjoyable and not a trivial amount of wine per glass! The wait staff really HUSTLE for the customers which I respect. No one wants slow service at an airport. There is seating inside(small elevated booths), and also tables in the mall area with power outlets(major bonus!). If there’s a live pianist playing that day you can wine and dine with live music! They serve Mighty Leaf teas and espressos as well to accompany your meal. I’ve tried the smoked salmon salad, the meats and cheeses platter, the chicken liver pâté, the salami and roasted pepper sandwich, the italian stallion panini, and poached eggs with prosciutto for breakfast. Every single thing I’ve ever had is delicious! I particularly love the accompaniments that come with the meats and cheese platters. Picked, mustard, grapes, strawberries, spiced/candied nuts(almond, walnut, cashews)… so amazing! I usually get a baked treat to-go so I can enjoy it on the plane or the next day for breakfast. The sandwiches come with a small salad on the side. They are all so good, I wish they had them available in full portions. Gourmet food and over 100 types of wine available for purchase. Small bottles of wine and plastic glasses also available for you to enjoy on your flight.

Solid place to grab a bite in the Minneapolis airport. Portions aren’t large, but quality is decent. For example the piled high pastrami panini is a bit of a misnomer — it ought to be called a sufficient panini. Service was decent as well… Fast and polite. Definitely not the cheapest option in the airport. I had the pastrami panini, caprese salad and a mineral water… $ 30 with a tip. This said, as above, I found the quality to be pretty good.

Love this find… of course with the help of Unilocal! This place has different wines, cheeses, freshly prepared salads, cheese curds, freshly baked breads, great paninis, cold sandwhiches and you can even order of their menu to take to your flight. For a 4 hour flight back to SF, I got their freshly prepared mixed green salad with lemon truffle oil, 3 brioche breads(plain, ham and cheese and chocolate for the hunny), and roasted turkey Panini. It was all so good. People on the plane were smelling my food and asking where I got them. I didn’t have to get stuck in ordering plane food! I will definitely come back here and try their other sandwhiches and maybe get a glass of wine!

This is for sure my new place to eat at MSP! The food was fresh, had a great variety of sandwiches and salads and is nominally more expensive than eating at McDonalds! Eat here, you wont regret it!

Cool, fun little restaurant /store on the main concourse @ Minneapolis /St. Paul airport. They have a small worthy selection of wines, cheeses and meats as well as to-go snacks and sandwiches, drinks, etc. Meat and cheese plates looked tasty as well as their salads. If you have some time to spend while at MSP Airport stop in and check it out. It’s tiny but the offerings aren’t!

When a problem comes along(You must sip it!). My problem was that I had to walk away from security before I was detained because the TSAsshats took my brand new labeled and sealed bottle of lavender yoga mat spray I forgot in my personal item(but basically said it would have been OK to be 8 oz if it were lens cleaner or if I’d divided it up into unlabeled bottles of 3 oz or less. Pfttt!) and then they wanted me to acknowledge that I was«relinquishing», or whatever mumbo jumbo BS wordage they use, my ownership of it. To which I replied with«No, I’m not GIVING it to you! Call it what it is. You’re TAKING it from me!» And I’m sure I mumbled some other extremely eloquent things before I realized I needed a drink. Lucky for me, Surdyk’s Flights is right past the point of pointless acquisitions. My friend and I were able to grab a seat at the bar and I settled into my airport happy place with a Roast Turkey-Manchego sandwich, a glass of Nicolas Potel Pouilly Fuissé, and a small plate of prosciutto. Whether you’re in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, you can count on Surdyk’s to be a slice of cheese or a cut of meat above the rest of the food court competition. Flights is fast, friendly and affordable, too! The bonus is that they are after all the X-ray machines, so you don’t have to worry about their bottles being confiscated.

I rarely fly out after 9AM, so I’ve never stopped here. Usually I’m kitty corner in French Meadow, chowing down on a pastry and coffee, already looking forward to my nap on the plane. This time it was 5PM on a Friyay, so to the place with the wine I went! I got a wine flight because why not, and I was pleasantly surprised at how large the pours were. I got a pretzel with mustard to soak up some of the wine before making my way to my short flight with screaming babies.(There’s always at least one, amirite? Weekend traveling, gross.) The pretzel was surprisingly good – warm, soft, and just the right size for one person. Good service, unobtrusive TVs, and a surprisingly calm space in the middle of the airport. Or maybe that last one is just the wine talking.

I had a ridiculously long layover at MSP. I’d seen Surdyk’s Flights many, many times, but never realized it was a restaurant. Looks like since the last time I walked by they added seating out in the main Mall walkway. I was intrigued! For the first time I walked into Surdyk’s and realized there were tables inside. I was lucky to find an empty booth. Power outlets to recharge my electronics were greatly appreciated. I started with a flight of Pinot Noir. They were all very good and it was nice to be able to compare them side by side. I ended up choosing a favorite and having a full glass to finished up. I also ordered the Smoked Salmon Salad. It was so delicious! Maybe it was because I was starving, but I don’t think that was the only reason. The smoked salmon, peppered with capers, was soft and flavorful. Taking a bite of salmon with the greens and dill potato salad was a taste combination that really hit the spot. The greens were served without dressing, which I appreciated. And dressing wasn’t needed when they were combined with the salmon. I love dill on salmon, so I started adding bites of potato salad with the salmon and greens and… well, I really enjoyed the salad. I absolutely would order it again when I have time to stop in and relax between flights. I’ve been to MSP more times than I’d like. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great airport. It’s just that I wish I wasn’t traveling for work, but it’s what I signed on for so for the time being this is where I literally land twice a week. I’ve eaten at most of the restaurants. Surdyk’s tops them all. If you’re here and you have time to eat, give Surdyk’s a try!

Saw this place on Unilocal on my layover at the Minneapolis airport during a business trip. I got a quick bite after seeing another patron grab 3 of the sandwiches I got. It was great and I got a cookie as well. Food: 3/5, delicious with great bread Service: 3/5, a more of a take out joint Ambience: 3/5, small place(nothing to note here) Price: 3/5, about $ 10-ish for a sandwich

I couldn’t believe I was in an airport. While flying 18 hours and 2 layovers from DCA to HNL I was pretty grouchy about my pit stop in MSP. It was the highlight light of my travel day! Well, actually snagging an entire empty 3 seat row to myself on the leg from SEA to HNL was, but this was a close second! Thank you Yeeps for steering me here bc I probably would have passed it up. It’s small, but really nice. I didn’t snag a booth there was only 5 and they were full. I sat at the bar and it was kinda nice to watch the chefs in action with the open kitchen plan. I had a spicy Bloody Mary($ 10) the salmon and lox bagel plate($ 13) and they happily served it to me at 1pm, which was awesome since I skipped breakfast. Portions and flavor were great. They play old timey music and the severs has an old school cafeteria uniform. It was truly relaxing. I had a ham and cheese brioche to go and it was a bit dry and disappointing but everything else was great. This will be my «go-to» spot anytime I’m in MSP!

Oh now, this spot. Thissssss spot. It’s no secret that I’m head over heels for the MPLS airport. I mean, who in their right mind wouldn’t be? Great eating, shopping, free wi-fi, awesome fancy vending machines, nice folks, it’s navigable… shut the front door. MPLS is easily my favorite airport in the continental US and then some. And one of the main reasons for my undying adoration of the MPLS airport is Surdyk’s Flights. It’s great food, awesome wine/booze, delightful snacks, and a place to chill between flights. Food is fresh, inventive, and the price points are reasonable. Menu items are expertly paired with lovely, boutique-y wines apropos of nature of the dish. It’s chill. You can do some work at the counter, or vedge(?) out with a glass of Cab in a booth with your traveling companion. There’s also this rad cold case full of awesome sandwiches, salads, etc., if you’re in a hurry. Hey Surdyk’s! Maybe come open a location at the General Mitchell? Please? I love you.

Who knew airport food could be so memorable? Business trip = expense it! We didn’t want to eat at your plain olé TGIF or Chick-fil-a, so we decided to grab a table at Surdyk’s. The overall feel is very modern and chic-feeling, although I felt the TVs at every table were distracting. We went for a meat and cheese platter, and I ordered the salmon salad as my entrée. The appetizer was beautifully arranged, and the journey of flavors and textures was well-curated. Whether you wanted salty, sweet, creamy, crunchy, stinky, juicy, it had it all. It was a tasty and reasonably priced platter to share. My salmon salad was also very generous in terms of portions. The greens were a little overdressed, but I couldn’t get enough of the salmon! It was smoky, had just the right amount of salt, and wasn’t dry at all. It paired very well with the various cheese and breads from our platter. Lucky MN, your airport food could probably survive as a restaurant in any major city! It’s also a great place to wait out a few hours; just order a flight of wine, pull out a book, and you’re set!
