The Watering Bowl

My puppy and I have used the watering bowl twice now, once for day care and once for boarding for one night. I’m not sure I can say enough good things about this place and my girl just loves it! This last time when we arrived, she basically dragged me in she was so excited. Every time she comes back completely exhausted which is saying a lot considering she is a big bundle of 7 month old puppy energy. She comes out looking super happy and then passes out for hours once we are home.
The drop off and pick up are incredibly easy and they notice little things about your dog and show genuine concern. My girl has a little tumor on her left paw that is getting better every day but they call me every time and ask about it, and I adore that. I think it shows they genuinely care about these dogs. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the price of a night of boarding includes a day of daycare.
They weigh the dogs when you board so that if you are boarding for a few days and your dogs don’t eat, they can keep track of it. I kind of love that, although, I’m not sure that would ever be a concern for my girl since she is quite the eater.
I also got her nails ground down here and it was cheap (I think it’s $ 15 for grind and $ 10 for a trim) and they did a great job. I know you can pay a low price for a bath and they will do it right before you get there so they go home smelling great!

I really can’t say enough good things about The Watering Bowl. I frequently boarded my dog there when I was away for work and he absolutely loved it. He would come home and sleep for days! All of the people are great there and truly care about giving your dog the best experience possible… whether it is one day of daycare or a week of boarding. Unfortunately, we just had to move away and there are not any places that come close to comparing to TWB! Some of the things I liked best were their long range of hours for pick up and flexibility, the pictures and video updates they post, and of course their reasonable prices. This is definitely the best home away from home for your STL pup!

Not a great experience unfortunately. They did make some effort to call and apologize but the experience was enough to keep us from going back or recommending.

Im so pleased and satisfied as to how they treated my bfs dog Bentley. We boarded him overnight over the weekend during our stay in st louis and as we picked him up the next day he smelled so good and looked tired (as we expected him to be).I would highly recommend this place and def we will come back nxt year on our yearly visit here in st louis. Did i forget to mention the staffs are awesome!!!

I scheduled a sniff around for my dog. The person that helped me over the phone told me she would contact our vet and let me know if there was anything missing. I didn’t hear back from them over the course of the week and when they called me the day before my dog’s appointment to confirm, they didn’t tell me the dog was missing any shots. I showed up for our scheduled appointment and was told my dog was missing one vaccine. I explained to the person working all of this and she simply asked if I remembered who I talked to… I could have easily have handled this, but they told me they would. What a huge disappointment! What a lousy experience and POOR customer service.

My 7 month old Rat Terrier, Reagan loves going to her «school» at the Watering Bowl. When she knows that she is going, she can’t even take time to eat her breakfast and can’t wait to get in the car. When we pull into the parking lot she jumps into my arms to go. She is always so happy to see the staff and her canine friends. Being a first time dog mom, (Reagan was an impulse buy at an adoption event) I had never even thought about daycare. I am a retired teacher, but work part time. I very quickly realized that she couldn’t be home by herself while I went to work. I toured several facilities, and was so disappointed by the options until I came to The Watering Bowl. I knew after her «siff around» that they would be her home away from home. I love looking at the pictures and video to see her enjoying her day. She is one tired canine when I pick her up, but her snoring on the way home tells me that she has had a wonderful day at her «school!»

I LOVE The watering Bowl! The staff is amazing and they take wonderful care of my pup, he’s there almost once a week when I’m working both jobs. He’s been there for boarding when I’m out of town and he always has fun. The pictures and videos they post to Facebook let me see him playing all day. I can’t praise this place enough

Johnny (my lab/​shephard mix 85 lb high energy puppy) looooves this place! He gets so excited when he see’s us pull in, and he is so well taken care of. He’s a big boy with puppy energy, and boy does he love to play with his pals, but the staff are patient and consistent with him when he needs help playing nicely with less energetic dogs. Plenty of staff are constantly moving amongst the pack, supervising, playing with and redirecting the dogs. Prices are very reasonable, and he gets lots of exercise and awesome socialization. Who could ask for more?!

What can I say— I love my dog… and I love the Watering Bowl–
Despite being the only place that makes your dog have a negative fecal test (Which I understand, but so dang inconvienent) —
Lucy seemed to like her first time here.
I took my dog to Kennelwood last month (review to come later) and after a bad experience there, I decided I would look into the watering bowl, and its even closer.
WIN WIN!
It was mandatory for us to take Lucy for a 30 minute «sniff around» prior to her boarding, and I was unaware that you need the negative fecal test BEFORE that test, but since we had already drove there, they were nice enough to let her stay and go ahead and do the sniff around — -
We dropped her off on a Sunday morning and picked her up Monday morning—
the staff is SO wonderful, and all trained to handle dog situations.
I love the idea, concept and atmosphere at this place– and that the dogs dont have to stay couped up all the time.
Lucy was WORE out when we she came– and loved playing with all the other dogs.
I think its good they make dogs come in before hand to make sure they get along with all the other dogs.
Lucy will forever be a watering bowl dog from here on out, and I think she’s glad!
Thank you Watering Bowl for playing with our dogs, and keeping them safe and happy.
and I forgot to mention they keep them there at that facility and rarely transport them to the other one– and they have someone there 24 hours to make sure the dogs are safe!
and they even post pictures and videos of the dogs on their facebook page and i enjoyed seeing my Lucy with other dogs through pictures! how sweet!

This place is a class act. Otto loves to visit and plays all day long with his friends. Flexible and reasonable hours and rates are affordable.

We absolutely love this place! We have tried several doggie daycare facilities in the STL area. The Watering Bowl is BY FAR the best! We started bringing our pup to the Brentwood location when we lived in Richmond Heights. We have since moved to Chesterfield, but dont hesitate to make the 20 minute drive to drop off our pup. The staff is so caring and absolutely amazing. Our dog LOVES it there!

I love this place… My pup loves it more. She gets excited in the intersection and when I go to let her out she darts to the door. They are great and the staff is friendly. Plus after a long day at work on a Saturday I pick up my dog and she is tired so if I want to go out I don’t feel the least bit bad about leaving her! She would rather sleep than hang with her mom anyways!

The point is my dog was hurt at Watering Bowl
I was not told
I had to initiate a call to even find out
Now not only do i find out the owner didnt tell me but
There were other witnessess to accident
This injury was one where time is of essence
My dog is 8 months old injury caused groth plate to close off
My dog has crooked leg and will have problems
For rest of his life
Whether or not he needed to go to vet was not your call to make
Im his parent and had i known of injury and being a nurse
Louie would have gone to vet sooner
By the way i have not received any financial help from the
Watering bowl nor a response to my BBB

I don’t think I can say anything bad about this place.
The owners and staff all have a strong love for the animals. It is evident the moment you walk in the door. They know who you are and which dog is yours. My favorite part is the video and pictures that get posted every day! How fun! You get to look at your pup while you’re gone. My dog stayed there for a week last month. She came home and slept for like 3 days. I know I am getting my money’s worth of play time at TWB!
The pricing is very reasonable, especially considering that your dog is NOT in a cage all day. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to redo the old Fire Station.

i have never had a problem here and my dog loves to come here. he has been coming here since he was 4 months old. so, 8 months now. he gets excited the minute we cross the JB. the minute i put me shoes on he thinks he is going to go to TWB. They work with stray rescue to find animals homes.

I just love this place! This has to be one of the best Dog Daycares in South County for sure.
The place used to be an old Firehouse, which makes it perfect since the firehouse doors are huge and can be opened up for all the dogs to get a nice breeze of fresh air from the front and then go out to the dog-​friendly Astroturf backyard.
My dogs and I were there is past Saturday for their Yappy Hour — which is a free playhour for all :) Ryan informed me that they are planning on doing more of these — so join their Facebook page and keep up to date on their events!
As far as pricing goes they are pretty perfect for the amount of time and attention they get. So A++++ for the Watering Bowl!
