History

Established in 2013.

Menagerie Models, LLC was established in 2006 and had been successfully providing models for a wide array of advertising projects. Menagerie Models, LLC was founded by Camille Adams, herself a former model and fashion stylist. Camille saw an opportunity to provide local advertisers with an alternative to high cost casting agents by offering real people as talent at affordable rates.

In the Spring of 2013, Camille approached Charles Barnes with the idea of buying the agency. Barnes, a photographer and who had worked with Adams as the agency’s new faces photographer, saw a great opportunity to expand into a new business that had great synergies with his own work in photography as well as with his former work in advertising.

In September 2013, Barnes bought the assets of Menagerie Models, LLC and started Menagerie Models.

Meet the Business Owner

Charles B.

Business Owner

Charles Barnes is a local businessman who started his career in advertising. Joining the New York agency, Saatchi & Saatchi Compton, as an Assistant Media Planner on Procter & Gamble business in 1983. Over time, Barnes became a Senior Media Planner and then moved into the account side of the business. As an Account Executive, Barnes’ clients included Pan American Airlines, Upjohn, MCI and Xerox.

After moving to St. Louis in the late 1980’s, Barnes worked for several companies before picking up a camera and starting up his own business, cbarnesphotography in 2007. Working with both commercial clients and individuals, Barnes saw an opportunity in 2013 to purchase the assets of an established St. Louis modeling agency.
