Zerorez – Minnesota

We will not use again. We asked for a call 1 hour prior to them coming because I work 1 hour away from home. I asked that they call on my work phone because I cannot have my cell phone at work. They called my cell phone to say they would be out in 15 minutes. The technician sat at our house and waited until we got there. The special was $ 159 for 2 rooms and a set of stairs. We did not need the second room done and would have preferred to put more attention to the first room rather than have the second room done. But we did not have a choice. Our carpet is light and about 20 years old, but we do not wear shoes in the house and the carpets were not heavily soiled. We had one high traffic area and one spot where coffee was recently spilled. We were told that they could spot treat areas on the carpet or treat the whole room for $ 60 additional for their level 1 treatment and then could «go from there.» We did not pay for more than the level 1 treatment. We also had them do an area rug, that had no stains but did have a smell to it. so in the end, the bill was just over $ 300. They also tried to sell us some over priced carpet cleaner when they left. We did not purchase it. When the carpets dried, our area rug still smelled and the coffee stain and other stains were still there. Waste of $ 300. My sister in law works with carpet cleaning companies because she manages apartment complexes. Their carpets are far more soiled than ours and the companies get them much cleaner. In addition, she said she has never had a company tell them they needed to pay more and charge according to levels of clean that they will provide. A few days after the carpets were cleaned, my husband took a rag and some carpet cleaner that we had and was able to get a lot of the stain out. I am not sure why a professional carpet cleaning company could not do the same. I completed their survey and received a call stating that they have a 30 guarantee and are willing to come back. I tried to reach the staff person back and we have played phone tag. They are supposed to come out Friday. We will see how this goes.

Horrible. Charged us a ton for their top of the line package, all spots are again visible on our carpets. Also had them clean our furniture. Very messy, got cleaner all over the wood on the base of our couches and all over our wood floors. To make matters worse, they walked all over our wood floors with their wet shoes. What a mess! Don’t bother with this overpriced place!

Had a coupon and had heard great things. When they say high areas they only do the bare minimum, would not have done behind bedroom door until I asked. Cost was outrageous so I thought maybe you get what you pay for. Guy said they will look so much better when dry, I can’t even tell they have been cleaned, almost worse now then before they were done. When anyone says anything about using them I tell them save their money and go with another company. One and done for us, we will not use them again.

I have used Zerorez a couple times over the last couple years. I always listen for specials and promos on the radio etc. I think they may tell you the specials if you call. They asked what we wanted to do and since we wanted to do steps, they changed our special to another that would help us out a bit more. Zerorez has also done a great job every time we have used them. We have also used competitors and done it ourselves. If you have pet stains and other pre-​treating needs, it can add up quickly with the extra add-​ons. Try to talk them into giving you a better deal on the add-​on prices too. They can be a bit flexible. I am always happy with the job they do. I also asked that they used a fan on my lower level to help it dry while they did the upstairs. They were happy to do that. Very friendly guys. They got dirty areas clean that I didn’t think were going to recover. I will call them next time too.

Very difficult to schedule with Zerorez, They say they clean carpets on Sundays but they do not. There was no phone call prior to their visit to let us know what time they would arrive. The price was expensive and the two people who showed up were creepy; they wanted me to make coffee for them! They were not cat-​friendly. The carpet was probably cleaner after they left but I will choose my local carpet cleaner in the future.
As a previous reviewer stated, they are salespeople, not service providers.

This company used rubber bands to post advertisements on every door and gate in my neighborhood.
I actually need to get some carpets cleaned but I would NEVER use the services of a company that litters all over my neighborhood, no matter how low the price.

Like everyone I heard the commercials. No chemicals, all green, sounds great! Customer service was horrible. Costed $ 600 More than quoted. Charged my card twice. They’re salesman first, cleaners second. Only concerned about up sale.

These guys crushed it. They made our carpet look new again (had feared we would need to replace it in preparation for a home sale) and resurrected our kitchen grout (note to self, never use white grout for a kitchen floor). They stayed true to their quote, were on time, friendly, and professional. We will definitely use them again at our new home.

Not worth the money. I was shocked that they charge so much for a small space and I didn’t see any difference then when I have done it myself.

Creapy and bait and switch… also didn’t do a great job, they spent more time trying to upsell me than cleaning.

The cleaning was average but the pricing was deceptive (KS95s 3 room special doesn’t exist). We received a bill for 50% more than was quoted. They attempted to upsell us at the time they arrived with adding a «protective coating.» Let’s be real if your company name is zerorez and a customer expects zero residue why would they pay to put on a chemical protective coating? They wouldn’t. Basically, I would not recommend because I don’t appreciate being mislead on KS95’s so called special (can’t trust them either), being upcharged well beyond the initial quote, and being upsold. I’d look to find a much more honest and straight forward company. It appears they spend most of their money on advertising but that doesn’t mean they will generate business in the near term with these tactics. Any company that is deceptive won’t be in business for very long, regardless of marketing… just look at politicians.

Heard about them on the radio and decided to give them a call for carpet shampoo for the entire house before we moved in. Before they shampooed, the carpet was slightly dusty, with very few spots, and very soft. After the shampooed, the carpet was hard, I mean really hard. As if they forgot to pick up the «water». They use soap and not any special water. Not only that, not even one stain was removed. The explanation I got from the guy was, the carpet is slightly old and hence it will not go away. He had the audacity to tell me «if we cant remove the stains, no one can» — What BS advertising is this? I was able to remove the stain with just baking soda. Needless to say, I cancelled their duct and Furnace cleaning appointments which was due next day. I will never use your services again, nor will I ever recommend you to anyone. They provide «Gotta Love IT» Guarantee, but besides a facebook comment from them (since I wrote same review on their facebook), I havent received anything. They also called after I responded to their survey. They wanted to come day time during a week day. Very convenient since I work 8 – 5 M-​F.
In a nutshell, poor results and bad customer service

I had zerorez out to my house to clean all the upstairs carpet this week. They did a good job and then technician was knowledgeable but I was very disappointed in the pricing. I was quoted one price over the phone but then the technician came and that price increased almost double. I feel like this is a little bit of bait and switch and that the customer service individual on the phone should do a better job giving realistic pricing but they probably do this just to get to your house. I really don’t think it was worth the pricing and the company should change there policy about disclosing cleaning option right away over the phone. For that reason, i DONT believe I would recommend them to anyone.

I’ve used zerorez in the past with excellent results. My complaint is in their scheduling. I called in advance and was given days with wide open schedules. I asked for a Friday as I had help available to move furniture. Told them I was flexible with times. NEVER do that. They took advantage and scheduled me for 3:00 on Friday! It’s a big job and I am going to have them here for hours as they do not rush through a job. That’s what you get for being nice.

I made an appointment one month in advance to ensure I would have an early cleaning. I called the day before and talked two 2 service reps who put me on hold for 4 – 5 minutes. They wanted to come from 3 – 6 pm. The third call I got, they put me on hold and then I was disconnected. I cancelled my services with this company. They are unreliable and the customer service is terrible!

Ahh the one star review.
I actually never ended up using Zerorez, but I did research them and others extensively before hiring a service providor.
Lets start off with the bait in switch sales process. I was looking for two services that need to be performed, air duct and carpet cleaning. I called for a quote on both, was quoted $ 550 for the carpet (~1600 square feet worth), and $ 250 for the ducts. Right of the gate I was concerned about pricing. I called back the next day to confirm and possible schedule and the duct cleaning quote went to $ 500-​$ 600. Now suddenly the $ 800 tab is now potentially $ 1150, with a very high potential to be more. Doing additional research I look at ZeroRez BBB rating. There were three common themes with customer compaints… 1) Actual service cost much more than quoted, 2) If the customer wasn’t satisfied, it was the customers fault, 3) Browning of the carpet after cleaning.
My chemistry background had me intrigued by the carpet browning. In their cleaning process they simply use, essentially, weak caustic, pH adjusted water. One of the things that makes soap work so well is the elevated pH reducing the surface tension of the water, basically making water more slippery. However, Zerorez does not use surfactants (soap). There are two things that make soap work so well, the higher pH making it slippery, and the micelles. Micelles trap dirt, oir, grease, ect allowing the contaminate to be more easily suspended in solution making it it easier to extract the dirt /​contaminate.
More on the browning. Many carpet cleaners will actually neutralize the carpet after cleaning, Zerorez relies on air, or rather the CO2 in the air to do the job. If two much liquid is left behind of or the carpet drives to quickly, this leave a high pH carpet. Next time something spills on the carpet, this high pH can cause a reaction, browning the carpet.
But really the whole sales process of hiring ZeroRez made me feel like I was buying a used car, that was way over priced. ZeroRez was going to cost me at least $ 950. I had both services performed to my satisfaction using small local vendors for $ 400.
With that said we have family that would highly recommend them based on quality. Based on cost there are better options. I highly recommend shopping around.

I recently called Zerorez to clean 3 area rugs. When I set up my rug cleaning appointment, I told customer service that I have hardwood floors (no rug washing on my hardwood). The representative said that the technicians would clean the area rugs out in my garage, outside, or otherwise «figure it out». I was given a quote of $ 1 – 2 a sq. ft. for in-​home rug cleaning. Though, they have a bath-​like facility that would deep clean for $ 3 a sq. ft. I opted for in-​home service.
Mario and Robert (maybe it was Bobby?) arrived and were not clear what service was supposed to be provided. I clarified that I had a number of area rugs to be cleaned. The guys walked around my house for a bit, looking from rug to rug, tisk-​ing and thinking deeply. After some time, they suggested the deep ‘bath’ cleaning that is provided offsite. When I said that I’m not interested in paying more, they said it would only be $ 2 a sq. ft, which was not the same quote I received on the phone. After a moment of silence they agreed that it was $ 3/​sq. ft. for this ‘bath’ cleaning. I asked why not proceed with in-​home service and they began heavily suggesting to consider the bath. They then said that the in-​home cleaning is not very thorough, they of course wanted me to get the most out of my money. The guys were gone in less than 10 minutes, showing no interest in cleaning my rugs, nor helping me rectify the situation.
With the Zerorez service technicians doubting the effectiveness of the in-​home area rug cleaning, I too had to doubt it. I passed on the «bath» option too, as I don’t appreciate upselling. Nor do I appreciate being in the middle of headquarter and field miscommunication. I may spend my money on a superb vacuum, turn my rugs over and clean the undersides myself. Thanks for reminding me that I’m a DIY kind of gal.
Zerorez, figure out a way to improve communications and keep the customer out of the crossfire. Also, get a better in-​home area rug service, your own guys aren’t convinced that it is worth the investment.

I’m a little confused by all the glowing reviews. Zero rez was really expensive and I did not think the cleaning was exceptional.
But the worst part. I paid with a Visa card. For months, I kept getting calls that I hand’t paid. Finally, I got the bank involved (the time, transaction number, approval code), and the advice to tell Zerorez that they were asking me to do their accounting for them.
I was wholly unimpressed with their accounting staff. I emailed all the details over and over. And they kept saying «Our manager says to get payment over the phone.»
I would never use them again obviously, and I suspect all these reviews are stacked. They sound like ads to me.

After continually hearing their adds on the radio, I finally decided to give Zerorez a shot at cleaning the carpet in my condo. From start to finish Zerorez and their employees maintained a high level of communication and professionalism. The tech that did the cleaning let himself/​herself in and out of the space without my presence. Upon inspection the next day, the carpets looked wonderful! A job well done indeed. Probably the best thing about Zerorez is the lack of any left over residue other cleaners leave behind that typically leave my carpets with a crusty/​crunchy feel to them. And the dry time is incredibly fast. Other cleaners completely soak your carpet resulting in dry times up to 48 hours. My carpet was dry in less than 24 hours.
The only thing you need to be aware of about Zerorez are the extra fees and charges that can add up. For example, I utilized their 3-​room/​$ 149.99 deal. However, since the square footage I needed cleaned exceeded that of their 3-​room limit, I was charged for the extra space. There is also a water disposal fee and additional fees if you have any pet stains or spots that require any extra attention. I was not blindsided by these charges as the Zerorez customer service rep was very up-​front about them. I knew exactly what I would be paying. But, if you think you’re only going to pay $ 149.99, chances are your balance will be higher than that.
I will use Zeroez again!

I am getting ready for a baby and wanted to be sure that I did everything to ensure that my house was clean and ready for our new arrival.
Zerorez maintained a professionalism from the start of the process. They were quick and responsive. The outcome made our 8 year old carpet look brand new. I was incredibly happy with the quality of service and love to know that it’s eco-​friendly. I highly recommend Zerorez to anybody looking to get their carpets cleaned.
