Happen to be there for happy hour… when ordering our beers LONG time before receiving them… drinks and appetizers where suppose to be reduced at happy hour prices… when receiving the bill… Full price on the beers and Full price on the appetizer. Waitress in being slow service, missed the happy hour prices. received Minimal tip. This is income to you. don’t you think they would give you better service??? Apparently not here.

This is a decent pub! It’s spacious, has a few free and easy parking options, food is good, and it doesn’t feel too divey, snooty, or chain-​y.
I’ve come here for a few drinks and apps. They have a late-​night happy hour and damn good potato skins, so I was totally content. I’ve also been here to get their buffalo chicken finger dinner to-​go, which I really liked. The «fingers» (when can we stop calling it that, though?) were huge, more like whole filets than skimpy tenders. The buffalo sauce was perfectly tangy too. I got a side of «cider slaw» but was surprised/​disappointed that it was creamy instead of vinegary.
Service has been pretty good and prices are just slightly over average. A fun night = painting at Pinot’s Palette then eating/​drinking at McCoy’s, or vise versa!

My local hangout the menu has definitely gone downhill after New Management has taken over not as much variety but still I’m there at least 3 times a week good company Good Times

This is a good neighborhood place for me. The food is good, they have a nice patio where you can bring your dog and a good beer selection. Not as cheap as some other neighborhood bars but not too expensive and I think the food is higher quality.

One of the staples of the area. Great beer list and get here early for happy hour, patio seating is perfect in the evening. Burgers is my recommendation for food, but they have something for everyone’s taste.

Classy St. Louis Park joint. It’s definitely a rich, White suburban place but the food is really good. The menu is pretty diverse. It’s got everything you want from sandwiches to soup to burgers and even some really interesting desserts! It’s also a great place to drink and they have a really cool bar! If you’re in the St. Louis Park area, this is a great place for a first date or hanging with friends!

They have a great happy hour menu, but unfortunately I was not here during those hours. I don’t like Bloody Mary’s but my boyfriend tried one and for being a drink connoisseur, he was not too impressed and said it tasted pretty watery. His blue cheese burger had great flavor and I had the Eggs Benedict for brunch and it was good, nothing over the top fantastic though. We also split an order of the pretzels and those were quite tasty ($ 6 on their happy hour menu or $ 9 on the regular menu. maybe a little pricey) The grilled cheese and tomato soup looked and smelled incredible at the booth next to us, so I will probably have to try that mmmm. I like the long high top table in front of the bar, you can see all the TVs if there is a big game on. They have a separate bar area from the dining room, but I’d opt for the bar tables or booths, it seemed much more lively, and bright with the windows, at least at the time that we went!

Since I live right by here we order at least once if not three times a week from here but DAMN! People need to get their shit straight. Last I checked a BLT salad should contain Bacon Lettuce and Tomato and I got Lettuce and Tomato. How many times do I have to drop $ 50 on food and order the same thing before they get it right? Make sure to check your order before leaving this place has a BAD habit of not completely giving you what you pay for.
Let’s not forget the completely oblivious hostesses who upon giving them my name for pick up asked if I was Scott. How many people have mistaken the name Mandy for Scott? Please girls pay more attention to your job and less on your hair.

I really enjoy McCoy’s. To be honest, I haven’t eaten here yet but I have had my fair share of beers and I must say, this place is doing a great job. The Sculpin IPA from Ballast Point Brewing Company is on tap and one of the better IPA’s around. They also have the grapefruit version on tap as well. They get 4 stars from me for that alone.

I had lunch here with coworkers. Everyone liked their food. I had a salmon burger (really a fillet on a bun), very good. The service prompt and attentive.
Their lemonade was weak, very watered down. That was the only bad comment we had for McCoys.
I will go back…

This is a great neighborhood Irish Gastropub. It is located far enough out of uptown to be non-​hipster, nontrendy, with a relaxed atmosphere
They have an absolutely excellent Moscow Mule, probably the best one in town!
The wait staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable about their large beer list. They have an absolutely great happy hour with pizzas and pretzels and burgers!
The value is very good at happy hour for both food and drinks.
They do have a very large menu with appetizers entrées and desserts which are all very good.
I would say the downfalls to this establishment our poor outside parking, the lack of healthy food, and The lack of any food item on the menu that is excellent. All food and drinks are very good, try it!

I live across the street from McCoys and have been many times. I love this place. They succeed by doing a lot of things pretty well. The beer list is solid and rotates frequently with a good variety of local favorites and international brands. The food is reasonably priced and some of it is quite tasty. I recommend the cheese curds, beef tips, and the macaroni and cheese. There are lots of TVs in the bar area and while it’s not quiet, you won’t have any trouble hearing those around you.
It’s a casual place, good for getting together with friends, with simple and tasty food, and delicious beers. You’re not going to rave about it to your friends and family, but you’ll definitely enjoy yourself. And they will too.

In the 15+ years I’ve had 100’s of their cheese burgers and almost every time they were amazing!

McCoy’s was a pleasant surprise in an area of the Twin Cities that we don’t honestly often frequent. We visited at the request of a friend, and I have to say, we had a pretty good time. The restaurant is pretty traditional, with a nice long bar, dark wood fixtures, etc. It doesn’t scream Irish pub, but there’s just a hint of that (besides the name).
The beer list is good. I was pleased to find a lot of good solid tap beer options (about two dozen) plus additional bottles and non-​beer options. It seems they had a decent number of wines listed, but everyone knows I’m a beer snob, so I can’t say much more than hey, they have wine, too.
Food-​wise, things were good but not perfect. Not excellent but a good tasty bite.
We ordered the zucchini fries, which are battered zucchini fingers deep fried and served with some sort of creamy, mayo sauce. It was pretty good. The fries came from the kitchen piping hot and the zucchini was still a bit firm in the middle, not mushy. The one complaint was that they were extremely oily. I am pretty sure that the kitchen just dumped the lot into the basket without draining.
For dinner, I ordered the Beef on Weck, which is a roast beef sandwich with onions, a horseradish aoli sauce and au jus. The sandwich was pretty good. The bun was nice and buttery and soaked up the au jus. The beef itself was tender and flavorful. The onions were properly caramelized. My only complaint was food temperature. I would say it was warm being generous. But I was hungry and it tasted good, so I ate it. I can only imagine how good it would have been if it had actually been hot.
My husband got a big buttermilk chicken cobb salad which was very impressive and he reported to be very good. Our friend got the veggie burger, which he said was among the best veggie burgers he’s had. The fries were an upcharge (Seriously?) but pretty yummy fries. There are happy hour specials as well that make the whole thing a bit more affordable.
Dessert options were cool and fun, including Sabastian Joe’s ice cream, crème brûlée and cookies and milk. I tried to order the crème brûlée, but our waitress told me that a large table had basically just bought them out of crème brûlée. I switched to the cookies and milk then. The cookies were gooey but again, part of the cookie was warm and part was not. Seems like the kitchen may have temperature issues. They weren’t really very busy… but the parts that were warm were very good. They reminded me very much of Nestle Tollhouse store cookies… they were very flat like Tollhouse cookies. And the milk for some reason really sealed the deal. It was absolutely frosty cold and washed down the cookies in a really satisfying way.
We would definitely come back. We found the food to generally be better than most pub/​bars, and the beer list was pretty good. Wish the service had been better and also that the temperature on the food had been consistent. But we didn’t have any issues we felt were enough to keep us from returning someday if we are in the area.

To say I was disappointed in McCoy’s would be a gross understatement. To say I was thoroughly pissed and regretted ever deciding to go here would be far closer to the truth. I bookmarked the place after seeing some fellow Unilocalers talk it up, and seeing it’s relatively close to my house. Looked things over, looked over the menu — good stuff, to the bookmarks it goes. Then… it was time to actually go there.
You should be able to grab some parking around the shopping center complex, but if not, there is a ramp around there too. It’s a rather big place with bar and dining clearly segregated, so I can’t see it getting too crazy busy where a reservation would be critical. But, that’s up to you.
Get seated in the dining area, and then we sat there. And sat there. And sat there some more. Apparently we were in the black hole of servers because the group at a table front of us had their server. The group behind us a few tables had theirs… ours? Your guess is as good as mine. At the 10 minute mark (we’re in a table staring at the giant clock in their dining room, trust me, it was 10 minutes), I start to get up and the server finally arrives.
We throw in the orders right away considering we just had a layover’s worth of time to go over the menu. Curds as the app, I go choose the short rib burger with sweet tater fries and Ashley goes with the chicken strip entrée.
Curds come out rather quickly. I honestly had no idea what a 12hr sauce was. But, for those wondering it’s a marinara. These may go down as some of the worst curds I’ve ever had. Incredibly salty. I mean, picture those days when you used to stuff a handful of sunflower seeds in cake hole and your mouth started to burn from the salt. These things are that salty. And the sauce was just awful. All it did was add a watery acidic flavor that did nothing to cut the salt. My better half stopped eating them after a few because they were just too salty. Yeah, you read that right. Cheese curds were declined due to how shitty they were. I choked down the rest of them and my entire glass of water.
Dinner arrives a little later. Burger is looking good, fries are looking better. Here’s the run down from the menu: braised beef short rib mix, white cheddar, garlic aioli
caramelized onion. Take a look at my pic of this. Seem to be missing my cheddar aren’t I? How in the nut busting hell do you forget to put cheese on a burger? Now that I look at the menu it’s labeled under «burgers» so apparently «cheese burgers» is a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ thing on whether you’ll get it or not? Anyway. First bite, I say not too bad, but not too good either. Something else appears to be missing as ALL I’m tasting is onion and faint beef. So, closer inspection reveals I have no ailoi. Well fuck me running uphill do these people even read their own descriptions on what comes on the burger? So I order the side of ailoi get told it’s going to be a 35 cent charge until I show the naked patty and say I think not (out of principle, I mean I’m eating a $ 15 burger after all). It helps, but, the burger is essentially a dud. Sweet tater fries were decent. I’ll give them that.
Chicken strips were ok, but the stomach ache from a belly full of salt bricks, I mean cheese curds, kind of ruined things. Upon my inspection the breading was just a crumbling mess 2 seconds from peeling right off the strips. At least they were white meat though, hurray! They used a quality chicken boob product for the strips!
Get the bill and get out as quick as we can. I really hope the manager reads this. I should have talked to you on site, but, considering the paltry service and food I didn’t want to wait around for another 15 minutes only to get an apology, maybe a gift card to come back to a place I have no ambition to visit again (or refer anyone to), or have a pity comp for the meal. It’s the risk I take and accept in trying new places. Now you’ll have the stigma of being a place I regret going to and have no desires to ever return to. Congrats McCoy’s.

If you like microbrews, you like 23 oz. beers and you like happy hour, this is the place to go. They have a 23 oz. your choice of a microbrew for only $ 5. I had cheese curds as an app, they were pretty good. I’m just not a fan of marinara as a dipping sauce. I also tried their Monday night special which was a turkey burger with a wanton slaw and sweet chili aioli. It was awesome. A very different take on a burger and I usually don’t order turkey burgers. They have really good other aioli’s you can order. I’m a huge fan of the sauces so I tried almost all of them. We got the horseradish aioli, smoked chipotle aioli, and the sweet chili aioli. My two favorites, which surprised me where the horseradish and sweet chili aioli. I recommend trying McCoy’s, especially for their happy hour on microbrews!
P. s. They have a build your own mac and cheese.

We came to McCoys after getting a giftcard from a friend. I had been a couple times for Happy Hour and always had a good time. My wife and I came on a date night, I had forgotten how nice it is to go to dinner with out two rug rats in tow. We had a great dinner.
We started with one of the tater tot apps, covered in braised short rib and an aioli, they were a meal in themselves and super deliscious.
The beer list is awesome, if you are looking for a good craft brew this is a good place to go. It goes beyond the usually suspects of surly, summit and fulton to include some great breweries from out of state. I had the Founders Stout on Nitro which was amazing.
I had a burger, it was fantastic. I would have preffered it a bit more pink in the middle, but that is a hard thing to come by at any Minnesota establishment. The fries were great, loved the housemade chipotle ketchup and cola bbq sauce, they were great additions. We will definetly be back for happy hour and for dinner.

Since it opened, I’ve enjoyed dining at McCoy’s on numerous occasions without until now offering a review. Most recently my daughter and I stopped by for a late dinner. She opted for a small Field Greens salad and the Veggie Burger. She found both were fresh, flavorful and very satisfying.
I went with the Mac Daddy (Mac & Cheese with bacon, caramelized onions and peas topped with a buttered brioche crust) and a side of Brussels Sprouts. I don’t think my Doctor would enthusiastically endorse adding the Mac Daddy to my dietary routine. However, as an occasional indulgence it’s a rich, savory, scrumptious bowl of golden, gooey, goodness. Yikes! I think I may just have used up my annual alliterative allowance.
Previously enjoyed, well prepared selections include above average Fish & Chips, very good Pan Roasted Chicken, the Bacon Blue Burger, the Real McCoy Burger, the huge and fulfilling Smokehouse Sandwich (beef brisket, ham, cheddar, grilled onion, garlic aioli, BBQ sauce on a hoagie bun) and the sweet/​spicy, Thai Chicken Wings. The Bread Pudding and seasonal Warm Fruit Cobblers are great ways to end your meal.
Service was prompt, courteous and professional. Prices quite reasonable considering the overall high quality and ample portions. Noise level comfortable for conversation (in the back dining area). Or, enjoy the hubbub in the bar area. Plenty of nearby parking spots. A winner at Excelsior & Grand.

The next day after my sister’s bachelorette party, the girls were hung-​to-​the-​OVER and I, being the DD and awesome Maid of Honor that I am, decided they could use some good grease to soak up all that alcohol consumed. Despite the fact that I was feeling just fine, we set out for burgers and fries, and landed on McCoy’s. Here’s the breakdown:
Star 1 = The food here was decent. I normally hate blue cheese anything, but was craving it [ i better not be pregnant!], so i ordered the blue burger with house made chips… and mmmm! sissy and Chelsey M, ordered a burger as well, that they ate right up!
Star 2 = Their patio is decently large and was packed to the gills. They offer brunch along with a variety of weekend happy hour deals in the bar and outside ;)
Star 3 = Location is perfect and in a nice area of town! loved it!
Despite the good things this place had to offer, their service lacked alot. our waitress came over to us a total of 2 times, didn’t refill my iced tea, didn’t deliver our food and wasn’t attentive at all. Being a server for years, i understand when a place is hopin that it might be hard to get to every table in ample time, but at the time we went, it was dead. not cool.

Always a great place to go! Whenever we go we have Vegetarians in the group and everyone is happy! They have great Vegetarian options from veggie burgers to pasta and such!
They also have a great beer selection if your a craft beer drinker! It’s always fun to have something different here! :)
I like both the dining room for talking and dinners… The bar area is fun to go to for a few drinks and with friends :). Great place overall!!!
