Deuxmensions Dance Theatre & School offers classical Ballet, Pre Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Tap & Musical Theatre training to dancers ages 3-​Adult. We are a non-​competition dance school that focuses on teaching proper technique and an appreciation of dance as an art form. We are dedicated in giving our students a solid dance education. Our teachers have many years of teaching and performance experience, and all have earned a degree in dance. We pride ourselves in selecting music, movement and costumes that are age-​appropriate and family friendly. The highlight of our year is the all-​school ballet (s) we produce each spring.

History

Established in 2000.

In 2000, artistic directors Kirstin Doyle & Michelle Doyle founded Deuxmensions Dance Theatre & School in the Edina/​SW Minneapolis area. Both directors hold B.F.A degrees in dance and require that all teachers employed at the school possess dance degrees as well. Deuxmensions was founded on the idea that dance is an art form, rather than a sport, and we strive to unleash the artistry and creativity of dance in our classes and performance. Deuxmensions has produced full-​length ballets every year, including «Sleeping Beauty,» «Cinderella,» «The Seasons,» «The Seal Maiden,» «Snow White,» «The Fairy Flower,» «Les Sylphide,» «Jewels,» and many others. We produce one major performance each year and offer other, smaller performance opportunities throughout the year.
