Our favorite thing to do at St. Joe (except for the beach, of course!) the workers here were all so wonderfully sweet and you could tell they really love being there! The carousel was a great value, the music that played during the ride was awesome, and the treats available were yummy and affordable too! There were lots of free activities located around the carousel too– hula hoops, coloring, and cornhole to name a few. So much fun– we came back again and again! Thank you!

If you stop in St. Joseph/​Silver Beach area, you have to see this historical carousel! The facility is a nice place to just relax, sit in a rocker and watch people enjoy the ride!

An attraction that is largely run by volunteers, the Silver Beach Carousel is a lovely throwback to the heyday of the Silver Beach boardwalk. I thoroughly enjoyed my ride on a hand-​painted horse during the Christmas in July event. With board games, corn hole, and other attractions available, this is a fantastic reminder of both childhood and better days gone by.

What a wonderful place for entertainment and education, visited while on vacation, it would have been so much more enjoyable if staff were engaging and polite instead of so pushy and rude. I will definetely recommend to friends and family but with a heads up

This place is so cool. Not only is the carousel full of the most beautiful and unique animals (did a praying mantis really just go by?), but seeing the historical photos and artifacts from the full amusement park that was here back in the day is fascinating.
My recent visit here was made especially interesting because I was with my mom. She attended her prom in the original Shadowland Ballroom. I’m so jealous. Seeing it through her eyes really made the history of the place come that much more alive. What a treat it was visiting this place!

A wonderful place to take your grandkids on a cold or rainy day. The music is so much fun the kids just love it. The price is right so kids can ride more than once and it won’t break the bank. Lots of parking so no worries there either. In warm weather the water park next door is so much fun for the little ones to enjoy and the beach is so close by too so lots to do and worth the trip

What a cute little carousel right along Silver Beach. Beautiful animals that you can ride with fun little automated bands. Really gives this little center an old-​timey feel. I felt like I was a kid in the olden days! Bring the kids. They love it!

Really quaint area, fun ride and an adult going on with a child doesn’t have to pay! Fun other little things to look at like carnival mirrors, trains, and fun props to wear while riding your animal make for great photo opps! Popcorn for $ 1.25 is a steal too!

This is a beautiful carousel! The kids loved it and didn’t want to get off. Kudos for the awesome restoration. The pictures and nostalgic pieces are wonderful! Our son stood on the same hardwood floor that his grandparents danced on. Priceless!

Great pit stop for the kids. As this carousel is placed between the beach and most of the public parking, it serves as an excellent bargaining tool to get the kids away from the beach and closer to the car.
It’s a very nice, clean indoor carousel. Well maintained and worth visiting. Rocking chairs line the outer perimeter of the carousel so it’s also a good place for the parents to sit for a few minutes.
Would I go back? Absolutely. Kids loved it.

very charming place for kids. its a shame that we never got to see the real amusement park but certainly charming.
for 2 bucks a ride tho, it needs to be a little more economical. Thats my only knock but its a very charming place and i wish there were a few more indoor things to do there for kids but its very charming and nice place for the kids.

Awesome! So nostalgic and amazing.
But they DEFINITELY need to get rid of the Laughing Sal and the creepy clown that slides around and comes towards you. I jumped so hard my daughter screamed. It is supposed to be friendly, not scary… it reminds me of «It.»
But in other news, so cute how the carousel characters sometimes change out. Fun for the family.

I didn’t have my kids with me this last visit to St. Joes but popped in here to check this place out. I guess the carassoals been around awhile but the building around it looks brand new. Impeccably clean with hotel like bathrooms.

A brand-​new, clean, friendly, well-​run carousel which manages to honor the strange throwback carnival tradition and introduce a new generation to the family fun of a carousel at the same time.
Staff seems confident and competent. It’s engaging without overwhelming the little ones. Our 10-​month old was fascinated; not scared at all.

Have been collecting Silver beach Amusement park items for several years now. I can picture in my mind what a site it must have been when the park was running in the 30’s and 40’s. took the grand kids to see and ride the new carousel the week it opened and have been back several times in the last 5 months. Its wonderful. no words can describe the feeling I get when the music starts and the ride begins. All I can say is I’m a child again. if your with in a 100 miles of this place you have got to see the craftmenship it is outstanding. And all made by hand by Americans. True Art!!!

First of all, it’s a carousel. Second of all, it’s only $ 2. Finally, you can ride a Grasshopper or a Chicken or an Ostrich.
I just don’t see any way that you can go wrong with this experience. Seriously. The only thing that would make it better is if the Silver Beach Amusement Park (as a whole) still existed.
