Functional Homes is a full service home accessibility construction company. Builders and occupational therapists work together to design, build/​remodel homes to be barrier free, functional and handicap accessible. Our builders and occupational therapists are experts in barrier free design and construction.

CAPS certified, stair lifts, wheelchair ramps, bathroom and kitchen redesign and remodel, additions and new builds.

Service area is the state of Michigan. Functional Homes, Inc.‘s headquarters are in Saint Joseph, MI with satellite offices throughout Michigan.

History

Established in 2006.

Functional Homes, Inc. was built based on making homes accessible for people who have been catastrophically injured in the most cost effective way possible. We found while working with people to make their homes barrier free so they would be able to live the life they choose that the aesthetics of the home are just as important as the function of the home.

Over the years we have been working with principals of universal design to build homes that are beautiful and functional.

Our hope is that anyone who is remodeling or thinking of building will build with principals of universal design so their home will be beautiful, easy-​to-​use, and any sort of permanent or temporary disability will not hinder lifestyle.
