Planet Fitness – St. George

After getting a rather rude email from the clubs owner I went through with canceling my membership. When I signed up I was told that I could cancel after the October and have no penalty which they called a «buy out fee.» That turned out to be false. Planet fitness in ST. George took another $ 61 dollars out of my account. On their advertisement it said no commitment well that is a lie. I urge people not to join this gym. Unless you want rude emails from the owner after they read your honest Unilocal review, and to be lied to when you sign up.

I signed up for a black card membership while living in St. George. The gym was decent, kinda small and would occasionally get crowded but not terrible. However, I moved out of town after about 4 months into the year long contract I had to sign to get the black card membership. There isn’t a location that is close enough to be convenient to where I moved, but I signed the contract so I continued to pay until after the year I agreed to — which is fine. I then called to cancel my membership and was told that I’d have to mail in a letter requesting the cancellation via certified mail, which is a little ridiculous, but I did it anyways. This is where things got bad.
I called a few days after mailing in the cancellation request and the employee I spoke with informed me they received my letter and my membership would be cancelled so I made the mistake of believing them and didn’t hold onto the receipt for the certified mail delivery. I was then charged my monthly membership fee a few weeks later, I was frustrated but didn’t take the time to call yet, I was then charged the annual membership fee and decided it was time to call. I spoke with an employee who told me they had two guests with the same name which probably explains why I was still getting charged, he said he couldn’t do anything but would have the owner call me.
A day or so later I received a call from the owner named Josh Moran who told me he had no proof of my cancellation notice and would be out of business if he believed everyone. I explained that I spoke with an employee who confirmed it was delivered, he said he had no proof I was being honest, and would need documentation to refund me the $ 60 I had been charged since sending in the cancellation notice. We went back and forth and I explained to him that I did what I was instructed and would be writing a review of my experience with him and his business, he got very upset and accused me of threatening him and trying to extort money from him, this is where I hung up. I then checked my computer and found the original word draft of the cancellation notice that shows the creation date was in August, I emailed that in, I received a follow up email that my membership was cancelled now, but I wouldn’t be receiving a refund of the money that was wrongfully taken from my account. Terrible way to run a business, I won’t be giving any planet fitness my money again.

Everybody in St. George have to go to this gym! It’s amazing! Super affordable and tons of great equipment and you’ll never have to wait! The Hydromasage bed is worth it alone!!! Totally worth every budget friendly penny you’ll spend!

I’ll have to go with unsavory business practices what they don’t tell you when you sign up for the black card is if you decide to cancel you have to pay a 60 dollar cancellation fee plus your monthly membership fee for that month.
Then when you try to explain to him that that was not explain to you they basically call you a liar and say that is explained every time.
Yes staff are friendly when you sign up but after the initial sign up a pretty much become nonexistent.
And if you’re looking for any type of professional advice as far as nutrition weightlifting losing weight or anything along those lines there are no certified staff that I’m aware of that can actually give you proper advice.
In short I will never do business with Planet Fitness establishments again just on their business practices alone.

The showers are nice if you can get the one with the dressing room connected. But staff is not very friendly compared to other locations.

If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. About a year ago I cancelled my subscription and they still took money from my account. After a long process I finally got everything resolved with the owner or so I thought. Today I received an email stating that my account went to collections! I couldn’t believe my eyes! I have had the worst customer service of my life and I am reaching out to there corporate office! Screw you planet fitness.

Best qym in Southern Utah! Clean, friendly staff, ten bucks a month with NO commitment, open 24 hours a day M-​F and 7am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday, always have a staff member on duty, free group fitness training and the cleanest locker rooms and showers you could possibly imagine! The entire facility and equipment is new and clean! There is another membership for twenty bucks a month and that includes Hydro Massage beds, tanning beds, massage chairs, you can bring a friend with you for free everyday and free use of all the other Planet Fitness locations (over 800) around the country! I love my Planet!

Really clean facilities. Friendly, helpful staff. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a gym that only charges $ 10 a month with no commitment but it was really quite nice. Glad I made the switch from my more expensive gym to Planet Fitness.

Super clean! Cheap monthly rates with no commitment. $ 10 monthly right now. Always go here for the weeks that I visit my folks. Most other places would charge $ 10 day for visitors. There must be 20 each bikes and treads and elliptical machines. All in great working order… so different from my home gyms in Houston. People all super friendly. Did not encounter one douchey, weight dropping, no weight put backing, sweat dropper, no towel guy or girl.
Only thing wrong. Dumbells only go to 75. Need more weight!
