Specialties
George’s Corner Restaurant is a Gastropub environment that offers Great American Food. Open Lunch & Dinner; the menu features everything from delicious appetizers to share with a group to burgers, sandwiches, salads and dinner entrée plates such as Steak & frittes, Pork Chops, Pasta and more.
George’s Corner is in the heart of Historic Downtown St. George on the main corner in town. It celebrates the history of St. George and the original restaurant that stood on this same location, The Big Hand Café. The Big Hand was founded by George Pace in 1932 and became an iconic stopping place for locals and tourists until the 1970’s.
The new restaurant features old photos from that era in a modern tavern atmosphere; it combines old and new to make a very inviting place.
Sure to be the new «hot spot» in town.
History
Established in 2012.
George’s Corner Restaurant celebrates the history of St. George, Utah and brings back the memories of the old Big Hand Café which stood on this same corner from 1932 — 1972. The walls are covered with historical photos of the area. The architecture and décor feature wood beams, wood floors and give the feel of an old English pub.
We are open ALL DAY from 7 a.m. to midnight serving BREAKFAST, Lunch and Dinner. Everything is made from scratch and we feature local farm fresh eggs and fresh squeezed juices for breakfast. All natural burgers, sandwiches, salads, BBQ ribs and great appetizers for lunch and dinner.
We offer Live Music every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. Be sure to check the calendar on www.GeorgesCornerRestaurant.com.
George’s is where the locals gather and the tourists seek out.

Business Owner
Randall and Nicki, chef and general manager, husband and wife, opened George’s Corner Restaurant in hopes of making a place where people want to gather, a place where everyone feels at home, and a place where great food meets a casual, fun environment.
Their first restaurant is also located in Historic Downtown only a few hundred yards away; the Painted Pony. While it is more fine dining, they find the two compliment each other and the Downtown area.
They both feel strongly about supporting the Historic Downtown and all of the Local businesses. «It is a place that should be celebrated; it has history and charm.»
