The entire mission, philosophy, and practices of New Horizon Academy are devoted to the development of a healthy sense of self in every child enrolled in our programs.

Since it’s opening in 1971, New Horizon Academy has flourished to become one of the nation’s most successful and respected child care providers. The commitment to excellence Sue strived for in New Horizon’s early beginning is the foundation that our company is built on and is the cornerstone of all our New Horizon Academy centers.

Today, New Horizon is operated by many dedicated people. Although we are growing and serving more families each year, we will always have family roots, a warm atmosphere, an open door, and a commitment to excellence.

Our founder, Sue Dunkley, opened the first New Horizon Academy child care program in Brooklyn Center, MN in 1971. New Horizon Academy is a Minnesota based, family owned and operated company that has been serving families for 45 years.

It is not an average mission to provide the best child development on the planet, but then again New Horizon Academy is not an average company. New Horizon Academy provides exceptional child care and early education to children ages 6 weeks through 4^th grade. We pride ourselves on having high quality teachers who have an appreciation for children, positive attitude, and love of teaching.

At New Horizon Academy we are always challenging ourselves to incorporate the latest research, implement the most current curriculum and materials, stay abreast of the newest trends in employee and child development, and enhance our facilities with the most innovative facility design elements.
