Description

Specialties

In 2009, deep in the heart of Brazil, we discovered a new vein producing a very unusual gemstone 1,200 feet under the surface. This gemstone is called «Emeryl Jewelstone» as it is very unique in quality and color. It is from the beryl family of gemstones. Beryl is most commonly known for green emeralds. Although our gemstones have identical composition to green emeralds, our color is from iron deposits which are predominant in our mountain making the gemstone yellow or gold in color. Green emeralds get their color from trace elements of chromium. Originally called Yellow Emeralds, we have branded this gemstone with a registered trademark of Emeryl. The yellow to gold color also has flashes of green and when seen in the sun light, natural color shifting occurs giving these gemstones incredible burst of vivid colors appear. Lighter yellow colored gemstones appear to be yellow diamonds while dark brown ones to appear to be citrine or topaz, but are premium golden beryl.

Wholesale Manufacturer to Kay’s Fine Jewelry, Gem Palace in Jamaica, Milano Diamond Gallery, Majesty jewelers in St Maarten, Blue Diamond in San Juan Puerto Rico.

Business Owner

Patrick Coughlin is the Founder of the Yellow Emerald Mining Company and President of American Diamond Importers. He and his wife Marga also operate Coughlin Jewelers an independent jewelry store in St. Clair, Michigan.

For 25 years, Patrick has traveled the world extensively searching for gemstones and diamonds for his clients and in 2009 his world changed. In a trip to Brazil, Patrick was offered the opportunity to be lowered 1200′ below the earth crust in a hand dug hole. Once the dust settled from the blast, hardly able to breathe or see, a pocket of high quality beryl gemstones were opened and the colors of yellow to gold started to breathe. After some test marketing with the new gemstones in Michigan, the Yellow Emerald Mining Company was formed and sales exploded once the public saw the colors and quality.

A 33 year journey began as a part-time salesman in a jewelry store on weekends to eventually owning his own store. Patrick is now a jewelry manufacturer, wholesaler and part
