Provenance Soapworks specializes in hand made bath and beauty products. We offer a variety of soaps, including goat milk based glycerin soaps, sugar scrubs, bath bombs, as well as custom scented bath and body oils.

History

Established in 2010.

Provenance Soapworks was born in 2002 after a foray into soap making turned into a passion. Owner Carolyn H. soon began experimenting with new recipes and blends, then expanded from soap to sugar scrubs, bath oils, body butters and much more. Friends and family soon started requesting products, and from there a business was slowly born. We began selling at farmer’s markets and craft shows, then wholesaling to stores and spas throughout the US. In 2010, we opened a storefront at our flagship location in historic downtown Saint Charles, Missouri where we have continued to hand-​make all of our items.

Business Owner

Carolyn started making soap in 2002, after looking for products that wouldn’t make her skin itchy and red. With little luck, she decided to start crafting her own. In 2010, after testing the waters for several years at craft shows and farmer’s markets, she decided to open a storefront with the help of her husband, Mike. Now, she spends her days making products, blending scents, designing new packaging, shipping out orders, and doing everything else that being a small business owner entails.

If not making soap, Carolyn has entertained the idea of running of to join the circus, living in Volkswagen bus while travelling across Europe, or joining an Irish punk band. So far though, nothing else has panned out.
