Wife and Daughter purchased several items here over the weekend. The place is very open and has a friendly, helpful staff. All the items look fresh and smell incredible. Usually these types of places are little overwhelming with the smells but not this one.
They are both very happy with the items that they purchased and said that they cannot wait to go back.

I so wanted to love this place but unfortunately, the deodarant turned out soggy and when applying it melted so quickly that I had a big glob of mess on my armpits! ugh! I’m not sure if this batch produced was defective or what but I don’t live in St. Augustine so I can’t return it or complain. They gave me so many samples to try and I haven’t gotten through the soaps but the Unilocal reviews were so positive on the deodarant that I didn’t think I could go wrong there. I’m still a Duross and Langel person. I order their stuff online from Philly.

I was over the moon about this place. The woman who owns it was so sweet and the soap products are to die for. I bought a chocolate shower butter and I love it! It smells fantastic and so did everything else. It was almost hard to choose. It’s fairly priced for the quality and she gave me 4 soap samples for buying just one thing. Great service and quality of product.

Hickory Ridge has amazing products! My mother and I were just strolling along shops and stumbled upon this hidden gem. We are from Chicago and love effective natural healing/​symptom easing products. There is a nice shop Near my home that I’ve purchased from and it was just decent. Hickory Ridge… blew my expectations. I am expecting and have severe sinus issues. The Sinus Rub is extremely effective and inexpensive… a little goes a long way. The soaps are very reasonable and luxurious. The spearmint eucalyptus is invigorating and really picks me up and eases sinuses. My daughter (17months old) has extreme eczema and I would run lavender oil mixed with coconut oil on her. It eased the symptoms, but the Pure Shea run with French Lavender was very affective. It not only relaxed her, but left her skin soft and moist for almost 12straight hours! Her skin was was as soft as the day she was born. Linda Jo was so kind and generous she gave me a sample of the Oatmeal soap to try on her. Again, not disappointed. I WILL be ordering more items and have them shipped to Chicago. Jo if you see this… thank you so much for your advice and assistance. You are such a warm and kind woman with an amazing talent!!!

Awesome products! Bought the pure Cocoa butter moisturizing bar and got free samples of the oatmeal soap and coffee soap! Love it all!

I simply cannot believe that I have not reviewed Hickory ridge Organics yet!
For the past 3 years Natasha A. and I have been making it a point, every time we come up to Dad C.‘s to stop in and stock up here for the next few months. Okay maybe we stock up to supply a small army for a year. Maybe. We both have an insane amount of soap year round and it’s all thanks to these lovely ladies at HRO. This past year, I have moved on to purchasing the wide range of skin products here and can already see a huge difference in the health and feel of my skin. My only regret is not switching off the commercial facial products sooner. Pretty much every single item I’ve purchased from HRO is the greatest ever. Soaps, lip balm, deodorant, facial moisturizer, Shea bars, and I mention soaps?!? Yes, I’m gushing, but the quality of everything sold here it worth every dime. Speaking of which, the prices are quite reasonable for such great stuff. The best soaps ever!
Check out this little shop tucked away in one of the many shopping nooks and crannies in St Augustine. They will not disappoint.

What is that divine smell? Did I just walk in to a secret garden filled with flowers and fruit trees? Nope! You just walked in to Hickory Ridge Organics! The products from here are so amazing, you will never be able to go back to any other skin care/​soaps again!
My love affair with HRO started 2 and a half years ago, as Lena C. and I stumbled upon the divine scents coming down the corridor in one of the gallery shops of downtown St. Augustine. At that time, we didn’t know what a gold mine we had just discovered, and decided to split the 5 for $ 30 deal. And so, the addiction began…
Now my bathroom is stocked with soaps galore, the most AMAZING face cream my skin has ever encountered, (pure shea not only healed a lot of my acne scars, it has also made some of the fine lines disappear!) the Rhassoul clay exfoliating clay, the cocoa butter solid moisture bar, the shower moisturizing bar, (first coffee, now chocolate and I swear you will want to eat it off your own skin!) the deodorant, the solid perfume AND the skin detox mask. Yea, I am HOOKED!
Honestly, the lady who makes these soaps must be some sort of magical wood nymph, a fairy of fabulous all natural skin care. I love love LOVE HRO. Love!

I first went to Hickory Ridge Organics a little over two weeks ago. I purchased more soaps off of their website. I chose all soaps. I selected Pomegranate Orange, Spearmint Eucalyptus, and Pure Olive. The two samples I received are Spirulina & Kelp and Frankincense & Myrrh.
The pomegranate orange bar smells like something I’d want to receive as one of those cute toiletries in hotels and resorts. It has a yummy fruity scent. After a sniff, my brother even just commented it smells like one of those things you get in fancy places.
The spearmint eucalyptus smells amazing. I already knew what it smelled like. I can’t wait to take a long bath and use this one.
I absolutely love the Pure Olive. I bought this one when I went to the actual store. My bar is almost gone so I ordered another one. Keep in mind I sometimes take two showers a day and also use this as my facial cleanser. I tried using the Clay Healing bar sample on my face but I ended switching back to the pure olive bar. My face prefers it. My skin has become so balanced — body and face — since I began using this bar of soap. I have so much trouble with store bought body and face soaps drying out my skin. Not with this one. I am quite pleased.
I’m a bit excited to try out the two new samples I received. The frankincense and myrrh smells like it walked out of a spice store. I’m not sure what to expect from the spirulina & kelp bar. It’s a surprise.
I can’t say enough good things about these soaps. Maybe next time I’ll purchase some non-​soap products to give a more rounded review of the store.

What is happening? We have for years now either taken a trip over or ordered online these once great products in in the 2 last recent orders it seems as if the soaps seemed «watered down»? Very little scent in the bars that we have grown so used to using on a daily basis. I would normally be handing out 5 stars for this stuff but the last 2 shipments have left me with the feeling that its time to go search for a similar product elsewhere. We are huge fans of the Star Anise, Almond, Cocnut Milk, Dark Chocolate, and Papaya soap bars, My personal favorite in the Spearmint Eucalyptus scrub that I use on my back and it really relaxes me and my back pain.
C’mon gang, get back to the amazing products that you have always presented to us in the past. I hate that I have the perception that you may be cutting corners or bending to using inferior products to save a nickel or 2.

What a cute little place! The smells just invite you in and you can’t help not to purchase something for you and your loved ones.
I purchased the coconut milk body soap and the fresh pumkin face wash. Omg! I cannot stop touching my skin after my shower. You will feel the difference and throw out all your other soaps and body wash!
You will also get 2 free samples with your purchase and can order online if you don’t live in the area.

This review is primarily for the skeptical men that keep away from organic soaps and products. If your a dude, or woman, you need to absolutely visit this place while site seeing the historic area of Old St. Augustine; no excuses. The aroma of pure organic fruits, spices and vegetables is quite overwhelming, it just sucks-​you right into the quaint shop.
I highly recommend to purchase the organic Florida Beach Line products. I’d lie if I can tell you which soap i prefer from the line-​up, but the coconut milk is great.
If you need any help, just ask the friendly owner; she will be more than glad to assist you.
So please do yourself a favor and purchase some high quality great soap. Plus, you can purchase online when you need to re-​stock. As a side note, the burst of earthy aroma when the postal package is unpacked, well, is one of my favorite reasons for being a online hickory ridge client; don’t miss out.

Love their stuff. The deodorant is fabulous and I work out for a living, and never smell. I can never say that about tom’s of maine, for example. I also love their shea butter with shea oil for my face and I buy it all the way from California after being introduced to it by my friend. The owner was awesome and gave me a ton of free stuff the first time I went in, but now I’ve been ordering online for many years because it is obviously amazing! Body butter in shower is great but will leave your tub slippery, so watch out. Also if You leave the soaps in the shower sometimes it melts in less than a week! :(All delicous smelling though.

This place and the staff here are amazing. Do NOT be put off by the location in the little alley strip mall (like I almost was)!! Thanks to conscientious Unilocalers, I sought out this jewel, spent the better part of an hour here today and will be back tomorrow for things I forgot! Jayne is lovely, great promoter of product and fun to talk with! Cannot wait to try the products, but don’t imagine I’ll be any less thrilled than I am now — fantastic line of organic, pure products without all the standard mystery ingredients. Very excited about their clay products, which already top others I’ve tried by virtue of the fact that they are in powder form, reconstitutable with filtered water, and therefore won’t dry out and become unusable like so many commercial clay products. Wide variety of Shea moisturizers, which I will examine closely on my second visit tomorrow, though I did snag a body butter bar with shimmer today and as excited as a 4 year old to use it after my shower tomorrow — who knew moisturizing could be so much fun?!! Really beautiful line of products that I’m thrilled to have discovered and know I’ll go back to again and again, and though I’m sad I don’t live nearby, the best news of the day is: they ship! Do NOT miss visiting this shop, even if you think you don’t need a thing in the way of skin care products — this place is guaranteed to knock your socks off!

Although, I sadly only get to come here in person once or twice a year, I LOVE the option of ordering their wonderful soaps online. I will absolutely not use any other soap other than Hickory Ridge Organics. I’ve been spoiled by their line and my favorites include their newest Florida Beach Line’s Coconut Milk, Finnish Sauana, Lavender and their wonderful pumpkin (which I am using this month to celebrate fall.)
Shipping is fast and the soaps arrive in perfect condition.

I LOVE these organic, vegan products. I can feel the difference with the silky lather. After use, my skin is smooth & well hydrated vs dry, stretched-​feeling, itchy & parched!
I eat organic food. It makes NO sense to put anything but the same on my face, knowing that products are absorbed through our skin.
Owner Lisa, was there on my last visit (yesterday). She is an amazing being, full of knowledge, dedicated to her craft & educating the consumer. We are fortunate to have such quality products available. The online purchasing appears so easy. I will shop no where else!

As a Flagler College Alumni, when I returned to St. Augustine for a visit 2 or 3 years earlier, I discovered this little shop near St. George Street. I was surprised but thrilled to see that there was a natural, organic shop on the East Coast. I’m from the Northwest and see natural stuff everywhere, but it’s not so common in Florida (according to my experience). I truly hope that they will continue to stay open because we need more stores like this one!
I LOVE many of their scents, they’re so good smelling. Some of them are actually very delicious, I almost feel like I want to take a bite out of some scents like the mango soap! On my last visit, I recently bought their 100% shea butter to use on my face after the lady told me that there was some SPF in it. I was having issues with finding a natural SPF face lotion that agreed with my skin, so I was happy to learn about shea butter having some SPF in it. Thank you for that information!
I wanted to buy the cocoa butter that had tiny glitter in it, but I was afraid that it would melt before I got home (no tin for it), so I didn’t get it. However, I do plan to buy it sometime because it looks fun & shouldn’t bother my skin since it’s just cocoa butter with glitter in it. I don’t think I saw their solid ying-​yang (smells like vanilla) perfume tin from my last visit, think they no longer are made. I’m bummed because that is one of my favorite things, ying-​yang is a lovely scent. If you’re ever in town, GO and visit this shop! If not, check out their things from the website. Amazing scents!

I’m an alley-​meanderer in towns where I feel safe and I really enjoyed browsing through here. I didn’t end up buying anything, but I loved the atmosphere.

We love these soaps! My husband has eczema so we use the healing clay soap, specially formulated with eczema & sensitive skin in mind. I love the specials they have… last year we bought 2 bars of soap for $ 12 but this year, 5 bars for $ 25. This time I am also going to try the Zen Olive soap and the Tusli & Neem… they also give you free samples with every purchase. Totally worth venturing to.

I stopped in last summer during a trip to St. Augustine. I was interested in the deodorant as I have been on the search for a GOOD organic, non anti-​perspirant that really works (and I have used most of the ones on the market). They didnt have any of the lavender in stock so the shop keeper gave me the full-​sized tester as a sample. It was THE BEST. I just ordered 6 for xmas.

Yep, I’m rating a beauty & cosmetic place as 5 stars. This small store space amounts to what is essentially a large kiosk, filled with locally made organic soaps, deodorants, skin creams, etc.
A husband & wife team own & operate this business, manufacturing their products at a facility in Palatka, and selling them online, and here, in their only storefront. This may not sound amazing, but please, please, please take a moment to speak to Lisa, the owner and sole employee in the store.
She is literally the most enjoyable person I have ever met. She loves her products, and has such a passion for describing them and giving out TONS of free samples. She gave us 4 – 5 samples, and we bought NOTHING, and there was no pressure.
We used the organic soap and it smelled amazing, and left my wife’s skin feeling silky smooth. I wanted to give this woman all of the business in the world.
We returned the next day and spent around $ 35. I hope this business soars through the roof as I have never met such a passionate owner. Two free samples with every order, isn’t that crazy?
