Dr. Prem Kumar G.

Business Owner

Dr. Kumar, one of the two paramount faces of Twin Cities Dental, was born and raised in Pakistan. In 1999, he obtained his D.D.S from Jamshoro University and has been practicing dentistry for over 13 years till date. He started practicing in Minnesota, MN since 2005 and has been one of the famous dentists in Twin Cities with a patient base of more than 15 000 as of year 2012.

He comes from a close knit family of 3 brothers and 2 sisters with rich family and traditional values. He is married and has 3 wonderful kids, Leesha, Gourav and Madhav. He likes to spend time travelling with family.

Dr. Kumar is amazing ! I had a broken tooth down to the gum line that had to be taken out.
I really felt no pain when given the Novocaine shots in my mouth.
It was hard to remove since the root broke into three parts in my mouth, but the experience I was dreading was not bad at all thanks to Dr. Kumar, I even started the implant procedure the same day.
I have had several other implants placed in my mouth by Dr. Kumar when teeth have broken but they all had some tooth yet to grab on to pull out, so this was a different experience having no tooth available to grab onto.
I strongly recommend Dr. Kumar’s office for your dental needs.
I see one bad review written here at this site, the writer states they have an F with the BBB and to check it out yourself. I did look at the BBB report about them and what I saw was a C+ rating and not an F as the writer stated. This rating C+ was based on only 2 complaints shown on their history of complaints at the BBB report. They only have 2 listed complaints ! In my life when I have looked at BBB ratings of businesses, I have seen many businesses with lots more of complaints then this, so this seems ridiculous to me to blame them for an apparent insurance payment problem. They try to estimate what insurance pays and what the patient has to pay, and some times dental insurance companies are terrible in denying paying for things as I have personally found out myself from various insurances I have had in the past.

I drive across town to see Dr. Kumar now that my place of employment has changed. I don’t generally recommend many people or places of business, but every time I have been to the office my expectations have been exceeded. The staff is friendly and professional. Cost of services is very reasonable. And generally I am able to get in for appointments when I need them. Great dentist.

A plus plus. My children and I go to Dr Kumar and he is AMAZING with both chicken adults like myself and kids young and teenagers. He is so patient and kind and has the best bedside manner of any dentist I’ve been to! He is honest and trustworthy! His work is quality and painfree! Even knows how to give painfree novocaine! Vickie the assistant is wonderful and Chirag and Melissa the hygenists are as well! This is top dental office and would recommend anyone here! Especially those who want gentle care who have dentist anxiety. Dr. Kumar!!! Also they have a discount plan that is a lot more affordable than typical prices if you don’t have insurance! Highly recommend!

I was actually surprised to see the first low rating for twin cities dental. So considering my positive experience with Dr. Kumar, I thought it only fair to provide my own review. I procrastinated for the last two years to implement two crowns towards the back of my mouth. But when I initially had a predetermined estimate with Park dental, my insurance said they would only cover it if I had metal crowns instead of white ones. This was not acceptable as the two crowns are very visible still when I smiled. park dental said my bill would mount to well over 1000 dollars. Fast forward to twin cities dental, same story from my insurance. But this time, the reps at twin cities dental called on my behalf and cleared up the misunderstanding. Looks like it was a simple coding issue and they were able to cut my total bill by over half! Additionally, I also got a custom mouth guard that I have been putting off because Park dental wanted to refer me to another clinic. In summary, I was able to address my two crowns and obtain a much needed mouth guard in about 3 visits. This was the best experience I’ve ever had with a dental clinic and will definitely consider this my family neighborhood clinic from now on. Thanks Dr. Kumar and staff! You guys rock!

Be careful when you are given an estimate of your treatment costs from Twin Cities Dental. They supposedly checked with my insurance company prior to giving me an estimate for my fillings, and gave me a quote of less than $ 200. A few months later, I was sent a bill for an additional balance of nearly $ 800. This was an expensive lesson to learn: check with your own insurance company before agreeing to a treatment, and DO NOT trust this office with anything. After a few weeks of arguing with them, they eventually agreed to reduce the balance, but only if I did not report them to the state board of dentistry. Needless to say, I reported them anyway, as this was a completely unethical request and known as blackmail. Stay away from this dentist. I should have checked Unilocal and BBB first (they have an «F» grade on BBB, check it out yourself).
