Established in 2014.
We started Sterling Silver Canine Coaching, LLC to provide northern Virginia’s canine community with the finest, friendliest, and most individualized training options available. Founded by long time dog trainer Cecilia Schmitt, this company reflects her passion for not just dogs but also for teaching people how to better relate to their pets.

Cecilia S.
Business Owner
Cecilia has been training dogs for over 20 years since she was 10 years old. She started competing in Obedience Trials with her golden retrievers Penny and Tarquin when she was 14. She has trained extensively in obedience, agility, canine musical freestyle, rally, and other dog sports. Cecilia started her career as an instructor in 2011 and assisted and apprenticed to several different dog trainers until she decided to start her own business in August 2014. Cecilia has taught or assisted all levels of dog obedience, agility, and rally classes.
Cecilia is a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, she is a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, she holds a Dog Trainer/Instructor Career Diploma from PennFoster Career School, is a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Foundations Course, and is currently enrolled in the KPA Dog Trainer Professional course.
