WHAT IS A CPA?
A CPA is a certified public account with specific educational and licensure requirements. To be licensed in Missouri, a CPA must:
Complete a college/university program in accounting of at least 150 semester hours
Pass the Uniform CPA Examination
Fulfill continuing education requirements. Missouri requires 120 hours of continuing professional education over every three-year period, including two hours of ethics-related education
Complete one year professional work experience in public accounting
Follow a strict code of conduct and ethics
