At Papale and Bouvier Eye Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, each member of our staff has undergone rigorous training in their respective field. In fact, two of the eye surgeons at our practice, Drs. John Papale & Peter Bouvier, have helped to introduce many of the latest advances in ophthalmology to the Western Massachusetts area, including no-​stitch cataract surgery. Dr. John Papale alone has more than 20 years of experience performing eye surgery, & together with Dr. Peter Bouvier & Dr. Sarah Hanson the Papale & Bouvier Eye Center team has more experience with cataract & laser eye surgery than any other LASIK surgeons in the area. Dr. Papale has earned significant recognition from his peers (eye surgeons) voting him as «One of the Best Doctors in America» & recognition as «One of America’s Top Ophthalmologists» from the Consumers Research Council. He has performed more than 10,000 eye surgeries, emerging as one of the LASIK eye surgeons of choice in the Springfield community & throughout Massachusetts.

Dr. Papale is Nationally Board Certified & licensed in both Massachusetts & Connecticut. He is specially trained in the operation of the excimer laser, which is used during LASIK eye surgery, & has completed FDA training for the Summit Autonomous excimer laser, earning full LASIK certification.

In addition, he is a certified lens implant surgeon working with the Visian ICL implant specializing in the treatment of cataracts & glaucoma. He was among the first eye surgeons to perform no-​stitch cataract surgery in Springfield, MA & he leads the way in implantable lens technology — offering ReSTOR® lens implants.
