I love this little place. We always go for soft tacos and hot chocolate. Reasonable prices, good food.

This family run restaurant goes above and beyond any Mexican restaurant in the area as far as their service, quality of food, cleanliness, and passion for their business. The mole sauce is deliciously complex, the burritos are amazing, and all at such a reasonable price. This is an unexpected gem in the Springfield area!

This is now our go to place for authentic Mexican food. If you want Americanized greasy/over salted/sour creamed Mexican food then go to On the Boarder. (They do provide a side of sour cream). My all time favorite is their«Traditional Chicken enchilada». I always order the«Asada Tostada» and«Tacos» which are very fresh and inexpensive. The Burritos are Huge. Like my 6’5 brother in law couldn’t finish it huge. My new favorite is their«Tortas» which are filling, toasty, flavorful goodness. Family run and friendly. We usually order for pickup and it’s always ready in 10 – 15 minutes.

What ever you do avoid this place please. It is not a replacement for Estilitas taqueria. This is not even traditional Mexican food. Taco bell is a better choice than here. Go to Salsas on Dickinson or even Beuno on Sumner for quick mexican/tex mex. All these 5 star reviews just seem like individuals being nice and hopefully not sincerity because the food was that bad. I will not waste my time on a huge review of my take out experience. But small portions, absolutely under seasoned tasteless chorizo/chicken/ground beef/and steak. I tried a little of all. Nachos 9 $ with almost no toppings. Chips are deep fried, burnt, and greasy. Tacos were wet and fell apart. Tostadas tasteless and boring. 10 $ steak Quesadilla was pretty much cooked in a pan for 1 minute and microwaved off with some kraft cheese and precooked Carne Asada from a bag… The Salsa Verde and Roja both had zero heat or distinctive deep chili flavors. Spent about 40 bucks for bad bad food. Won’t be back. Don’t go either.

I just wanted to post a quick note to everyone craving some decent local Mexican food. The taco’s here are fantastic! If you’re in the mood, skip taco hell and support LOCAL! I will definitely be back for more in the future and look forward to trying more items from the menu. I will say the portions are a little light for the price but the flavor is right on the money. Recommended.

For me, three stars means the food was good. Everything tasted pretty good with some alteration but nothing was spectacular. I tried the empadilla, which has virtually no filling but the pastry was flaky and yummy as most fried pastry dough is. My husband and I both got the traditional carne asada tacos. We found that they were lacking salt(probably in the tortilla), but overall the flavors were a nice combination and very satisfying. The guacamole was also very good and chips fresh(but again needed a bit of salt). Maybe we’ll give them another shot, it could have just been an off seasoning day, but it is a great local place.

I want to love this place the staff is so friendly and the prices are great. Ive been 3 times and all three times I didn’t enjoy my food. Im hoping that its just me and that others will enjoy their and the owners are so nice. If you get ground beef tacos its probably best to order one first and see if you like it before getting carried away and ordering a bunch just because they are .99 same with the churros. Eat the whole thing not just one bite before ordering more.

I would give this place ten stars if I could! This is a little piece of paradise. Small, quaint family-run business with authentic Mexican food that is out of this world delicious!!! The prices are phenomenal too! Had a three course meal with my girlfriend for only 32 dollars! I ordered the steak tacos… The steak was seasoned to perfection! My girlfriend got a burrito that was the size of a small infant. We split an order of flautas which were deliciously crunchy. The guacamole was so smooth and creamy, the best I’ve ever had! And the salsa had quite a zing to it! We topped everything off with the homemade churros… They were heavenly! I posted pictures of everything to make your mouths water ;) I will definitely be back as a religious customer. Extremely friendly service, fresh delicious food, and low prices… Couldn’t ask for anything better!

Great food, love the traditional Mexican dishes, and fast service. The only down side to this restaurant is the size of the restaurant definitely need a bigger location. But I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

I’m always looking for a good Mexican restaurants since I miss the food from Cali and today I found it here. We tried the tacos and they were delicious. We also tried the tortas and boy were they good with the Oaxaca cheese and avocado was icing on the cake, and last was the chicken tamal omg! It took me back home to my mom making tamales for Xmas! I will definitely will be coming back!

As a traveling sales rep, I have had tacos from all over. These are up there with some of the best tacos I have had yet. Awesome homemade corn tortillas. Great service and fair prices as well. 5 stars.

Best Mexican food I’ve had outside of Texas. The salsa is amazing and spicy, and the guacamole is delicious and fresh. Everything is homemade and obviously fresh. The owners are very nice, and the service is quick. The menu(already pretty large) will be expanding soon. And everything is very inexpensive! I’ll be back for sure.

Put aside any unfortunate associations that the name may raise, because Moctezuma’s is another fine addition to Springfield’s list of awesome, affordable, authentic taquerias! The place first caught my eye months ago when the word«taco» flashed from its storefront while driving down Belmont one night. Shortly after that a co-worker talked them up, explaining that they not only had tacos, they had DOLLAR tacos! I resolved myself then that I’d have to give them a try despite my dedication to Estelita’s, Salsa’s, and sometimes the Ixtapa Taco truck in the Food Zone parking lot. That was Wintertime. Summer is now close to over and I’ve only just had the opportunity to enjoy Moctezuma’s cuisine! Despite my apparent lack of motivation I’ve got to say that the food cooked up by this cute little restaurant was worth the wait. When I finally stepped through the door at 684 Belmont I was surprised to find a spotlessly clean, immaculately organized, and well furnished eat-in dining room. Yes, it’s small. But it’s comfortable and inviting as well. Out of all the local taco spots Moctezuma might be the one with the friendliest ambience to outsider eyes making it a possible go-to for date nights, lunch meetings, and any non-take-out situation. And only Salsa’s recent expansion bests it for sheer table space. That space was well needed too, as I filled my table with a few of the much touted dollar beef tacos, a couple of their«traditional» steak tacos, a pair of «traditional» chicken tacos, and a chicken enchilada plate served with mole, rice, and beans! I found everything to be delicious. The dollar tacos are plenty tasty, especially for the price. The traditional tacos packed flavorful, smoky meats and plenty of cilantro. And the enchilada rivaled those of nearby Estelita’s for cheesy, mole-drenched flavor. The only standard item I didn’t try was a burrito, but I was just too full! It’s okay though because I’ll definitely be visiting Moctezuma’s again soon. You should stop in too!

Limited but interesting authentic menu and they make their own tortilla’s and tortilla chips in house. I ordered a tamale with rice, beans and a salad. The tamale while good was slightly lacking in overall flavor but it was more than just acceptable. The rice I found to be well above average in taste and flavor as were the beans. The only knock on the beans was that they were very very soupy with very little bean integrity but I was willing to overlook that because of their outstanding flavor. The salad was iceberg lettuce tomato and avocado slices with a squeeze of lime. My overall impression was a good one and I will return to sample other menu items.
