Hope you’re ready to read! This will also include info on two other HVAC companies! We bought our FIRSTHOME this past June(2015) and spent roughly one month doing some floor remodeling, repairs and painting. When we moved into the home in July, we noticed the A/C wasn’t quite able to keep up. On a 90 degree day, it would be 80. We thought maybe getting curtains in would help alleviate the issue but unfortunately, it wasn’t that simple. So we started down the road of getting quotes for repairs and a replacement unit… yay. One Hour/Benjamin Franklin — fairly unprofessional, overpriced and it took three men in my house to try to sell me crap. In the beginning, there was a tech who checked all of our outdated equipment and it basically boiled down to either updating or spending a ton to replace in hopes that our compressor would hold out. After determining the cost of fixing would not be worth it, we requested a quote which required not only someone to evaluate the efficiency of our home, but for his supervisor to come out as well. One of the first things he stated was how crooked and terrible of a person our neighbor(who happens to own a plumbing business) is. Unprofessional. Oh! And because they HAD to touch certain objects within the home, they were obligated to bring it to code and wanted an additional $ 500. All Services — professional, respectful, explained everything to me, best equipment, best warranties, enjoyable and it only took one person in my home. Prices were in the same range as One Hour but did not charge for updating the home to code(who I personally wanted to go with but marriage is about negotiation :*) Larson — Meeting 1) This company was referred to us by my father-in-law who had a geothermal unit installed a couple years ago. He said their prices, service and installation were excellent and worth it. Our initial experience with Mark was great. He told us he wasn’t there for commission and he just wanted us to have the best unit for the least. Anyway, he told us my father-in-law would get $ 50 for referring us and we would also get the $ 50 for using them… that’s how their referral program works according to Mark. He educated us Larson’s financing which was the route we eventually took and also explained some other services. The final price for a 2.5 ton unit for our home was roughly $ 1,000 less than ANYONE else. Meeting 2) We set up a meeting with a repair guy from Larson just to make sure that the furnace was, in fact, in good condition and didn’t need to be replaced. Everything checked out the same so we set up an appointment for installation and ended up buying a water heater as well due to their cheap prices and, at the time, great service. When I brought up the referral program, the gentleman had NOCLUE what I was talking about and simple took $ 50 off the total price to humor me. He did not tell me ANYTHING about the financing expect to have me apply for a line of credit that would be through Wells Fargo. Ok??? Who am I paying? When will I get a statement? None of that was told to me… and the referral thing? Nadda. Meeting 3) Install day — the guys show up and I IMMEDIATELY asked that they not leave doors open because I have three cats, one of which is an escape artist. Well, the doors spent the whole day open. The second thing I stressed to them was that my floor(laminate«hardwood») is NEW and cannot get wet and I’d like for them to protect it. Granted, they did put down towels, they never ONCE used booties. When you check off their list and approve their work, one thing they’re required to do is wear the booties. Fail. Thanks guys… issue 3? I told one of the gentleman that the guest toilet is sketchy and that it doesn’t flush well. He used it. And clogged it. And carried a used plunger through the house dripping s*** water on my floor. «You floor is getting wet,» was all he told me. After the thrilling 6+ hours of hanging out listening to 60s music, we went through the check list where, once again, no one could tell me anything about payments or the referral program. It’s been almost a month now and the only thing I’ve received regarding the«financing» was a credit card that I didn’t apply for from Wells Fargo? Yeah. Cut that up. And the foreign, outsourced call center employee couldn’t tell me s*** or understand the problem. I look forward to that notch on my great credit.

Can’t say it enough… when you find good, honest repairmen you tell the world. We love Larson! Crew are always professional, neat and courteous. They arrive on time and get the job done. Love that they also tag the appliance they are working on so that all that come after that know what has been done and when. Just had a new heating and air system installed and are very pleased with the whole project from bid all the way to completion.
