Knight’s Action Park

Overpriced for a small waterpark. I wouldnt return unless its free, highly discounted or Im going just for the driving range.

This course is well maintained and imaginative. The staff is friendly refreshments are readily available. I would have given it five stars but the ladies bathroom is a little gross. Chris & Anne

The plus side to Knight’s Action Park is that it is a full sized water park in the middle of central Illinois. The down side is that it is a little run down and expensive. The water park has a large lazy river, a large wave pool, a toddler area, and several water slides. The action park is really just a few carnival rides. There are also go carts, a driving range, and mini-​golf (For extra).
Everything in the park looks old. Even pulling in to the parking lot, the majority is gravel or grass. I would recommend changing before arriving at the park, because there are no privacy stalls to change in, and the changing room itself is very small. Almost everything in the park looks old.
Also, the cost is over $ 30 per person, which when you think about what you can get at larger parks, seems very high for the little they have here. We would go again, but only with a generous coupon.

The staff was abundant & friendly!
The lifeguards seem to be great with the children & looking out for them which is great because they’re all young teens!
BEWARE on the red white & blue American flag water slide, it will hurt everyone who goes down it, it’s not safe, it’s the highest & drops you straight down in 5 seconds both kids I took were hurt on it.
The food was ok & not to expensive! No long lines for rides on an overcast day but it never rained: D
3 stars only due to the flag slide… For real thou!!!

Very expensive for what you get. The place is run down (although it did look like they were trying to spruce it up a bit) and the bathrooms were grungy. They have one ride operator for 3 rides so only one ride is open at a time! For limited options in the area I guess it was ok but I’m not overly excited to be back anytime soon.

For being the only activity park in a smallish town it is fun.
You only need about 3 hours to do everything at the water park. It is expensive for what you get.
There is also a put put golf, driving range, an arcade and some carnival type rides. The mini golf is fun but a very small course. The kids will have a good time.

A distinct reminder of a movie The Way Way Back… It is an old route 66 fun park with go carts, 36 holes of mini golf, game room, and several fun but outdated rides. Okay so yes I said out dated rides but hey at 29 years old I still like to get down with the go carts and mini gold. You really can’t beat the prices either. The reason why I gave it a 3 star rating is because the mini golf course is definitely outdated and in need of repair, but overall it was a good time and I definitely would go back. This would be a great place to take your small kids when you need something to do in Springfield. Great family environment.
Iforgot to mention the water park which I did not go to. They might recieve a higher rating if I would have gone to the waterpark but I did see alot of people enjoying there day.

This was terrible they had one operator for three rides. They would not give me a refund and no manager on site.

My family has been here twice, both times had a nice time.
Pros– not busy during the week. We came on Weds when they were running the ticket promos. Great place for tots. 3 dedicated areas for toddlers– just terrific! The wave pool is super fun, as is the wave pool, water slides, & go-​karts!
Cons– the women’s bathroom is really gross. And the place is a bit run down, but I’ve heard it been around for a long time.
We will be back!

The go-​karts and the lazor tag are the best things about Knights Action Park.
I used to go there every year for birthdays and school functions. It’s great for kids if you can’t afford or take the time to drive down to St. Louis for Six Flags.

This is hard to review after going to Holiday World. The two are by no means comparable. That being said, I am reviewing KAP independently. It is much smaller with fewer slides and such but it was still a fun place to go none the less. The one draw back for me is only one of the slides uses tubes. Towards the end of certain slides I could feel it on my backside and back bones. The wave pool was OK and over crowded. Not as bad as the one on You Tube of Tokyo but still crowded. I went on a very hot Saturday afternoon so that is understandable.
Now to the new blue slide. What is up with that crazy slide? Someone is going to get hurt. My husband and I stood at the end of this slide watching people land for a good half an hour. It was so entertaining. Kids and smaller people do fine on it but you get someone with a little height or weight and it’s hilarious. Seriously, people are slammed in to a small landing area that shoots water up the butt and rips suits off. Only the brave should try that slide. It takes less then 4 seconds to come down this slide. Think about it.
All in all they do not try to rip you off with the food prices and it was an enjoyable afternoon. I would go back since it’s so close to home.

Overall I do like KAP. The mini golf courses are fun, although a little worn, but we always have a good time. Plus they give the best and worst scorer’s a prize.
My only real complaint is an experience we had just once, a few years ago, when we were given a warning for alleged foul language that no one in our group used. We were all confused and it put a damper on our evening.

I had a great time here, I hit the batting cages and the go-​kart track. The cages are the same wherever you go, but it’s always fun. You can’t knock that. The mini-​golf course seems a little bland but it’s still a fun enough place to hang out. By far the go-​karts are fun, we were there and did things that were definitely against the rules but it was okay, we didn’t hurt anyone and the guys working there even got a little into it. The water park is the best draw, if you’re ever there when it’s open in season it’s worth a visit for sure. My favorite is the slide that’s basically just a huge swoop, makes me think that I’ll end up flying over somehow.
