Kmart

It was a pretty decent Kmart store but I was very oddly organized. There were lot of dead end corners.
Stock was pretty available and organized in shelf. Cashier was uninterested in her job but I just needed someone to check out my items and out of there.

western union system is down forever. Can’t find playing cards that some supervisor showed me where to go. Clothes everywhere on the floor, Disorganized. This is one messed up Kmart I’ve ever gone to… I’m from out of state. Being in springfield, Virginia. This Kmart has to do some homework «ASAP».

Waited for like 30 minutes for someone in jewelry… no one ever came.
Sales people were NOT friendly and were irritated that I even asked for someone… TWICE.
A shame… I wanted to purchase some jewelry and now their loss.

The sales prices were wrong, the customers service was poor, the store was outdated and disorganized, and the lines were slow. I greeted the manager with a smile and he walked away from the register without even a smile. He was just avoiding me to get off the register. I went to the next line and waited and waited until I was called over to a different register. Then the price on the only item I was purchasing was wrong. It was less than $ 3 off but still, you gotta honor the sale price. I informed the cashier and walked her over to show her. The tags clearly stated the sale price. She said well, «I’ll change it for you anyway». I thought that was rude because we confirmed that the product matched the sale tag item and the date of the sales tag was current. When we got back to the register she wouldn’t just change the price for me (to the price it was advertised for) without becoming a member. I shop at Kmart once every other year or less. I do not want to become a member and I told her that. She insisted it would only take two minutes. After I gave her a bunch of personal information I did not care to give her, she told me to swipe my card again. I wasn’t paying with a card. I was standing there with the cash in my hand. She didn’t even both to tell me the total and we were just standing there letting the line behind me grow. I thought the computer was processing my membership but instead she was just there silent. It was one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve had. All over a box of ziploc freezer bags. Ridiculous!

This Kmart gives me claustrophobia because there is no sales floor aesthetic — get as much merchandise as possible out of the stock room.
Some of the pricing is questionable. I have never seen so many over priced grocery items.
Regarding phone calls to this retailer, save some time and don’t bother. You will be kept on hold indefinitely.
Sears owns Kmart and is having cash flow problems these days. Maybe Sears can recoup some green by closing all of their Kmarts, this one in particular.

I ordered something online and received email saying it was ready to pickup. But when I went there they literally made me wait more than 1 hr. The employees were talking about their social life whole time. I can understand some Hindi so I could hear them discussing about their lunch the whole time. They kept saying it would be ready in 5 min but took 1 hr. Never going back to any kmart ever. That will be my first and last Kmart shopping.

My cashier, Parminder was very polite and exuded professionalism. The store was very clean and well organized.

God. Lines to checkout are ridiculous. Never enough cashiers. Old crappy merchandise.

The. Worst.
I hate going here but every so often I make it in because it is really convenient. When I went tonight, not only was I unable to find what I needed or someone to help me, not only was the checkout painfully slow, not only was the story dirty and disorganized… tonight me and my 4 year old daughter witnessed a fight break out in the checkout line. There was cursing and name calling and pushing and not a single employee stepped in or called security. Another bystander convinced the older man with the problem to stop pushing a woman and restraining her. I know it’s not KMart’s problem that there was a fight, but if I ever thought this place was trashy, I am now convinced to NEVER return no matter how convenient it may be. Target is close by… I will go there.

Except for the people, this is the worst. Ugh! They advertise, then don’t have the product. Check out is PAINFUL. Western Union line on a Sunday morning is 10 people long. Why is it even part of this store?

This place sucks. Rude staff, dirty and under stocked store. Avoid it like the plague.

The «sale» prices are always wrong! By the time I go and pay, the sale prices never ring up right and the store manager ends up comming with the rudest attitude ever!!! He’s so ignorant! I hate comming to this location and I will no longer come again!

Bought an air mattress there and it was missing major piece of the bed… The plug. I returned it and the cashier looked at me like I was crazy! I had to drag my 2 kids back to the store the next day to return it so I wasn’t to happy at that point anyway. She didn’t seem concerned or offer to help me find another mattress. So frustrating! The store is super messy too!

This store’s customer service is absolutely appalling. After two ridiculously bad incidents I had to sit down and post. I don’t know if there is any form of management at this site and I for one will be choosing other stores as ofen as possible.
Last year I had purchased an item online. After an excessive wait for notification I received word that the item had arrived at the store. When I went in to pick up the paid for item I waited over 40 minutes while they looked for the item. They could not find it and told me they would call. A week later I cancelled the order online and received a refund. A lot of headache and accomplished nothing. In addition there was never even an apology.
Yesterday I went back just because I was in the area and thought it would be a convenient stop for an item I needed. I found the basketball I wanted, but no Elf on the Shelf. So half of what I wanted. I got into line and waited as the cashier finished ringing up the gentleman at the counter. When I moved forward the cashier pointed at her light and said «I am closed». I understood and apologized that I had not seen the light. I moved into the next line and waited as a gentleman was SLOWLY being served. Before I was checked out THE EXACT SAME CASHIER returned to the counter I had been turned away from and called for the next customer to come to her line, looking at the customer behind me! I was furious, but not being a confrontational type I thought I would bring it up privately at customer service.
I fininshed my check out and turned to walk to customer service. I couldn’t believe the SAME CASHIER had quit checking people out (although the lines were long) and had moved over the customer service where she was just standing while two other employees were also working that counter. ARRGH I just left, but here I am two days later still bothered. Thought this review may save someone else the headache.

I go to this store frequently. Sometimes the prices are very good, and sometimes they’re not – for instance when I tried to find a ski jacket for my daughter, and the KMart sale price was more than 2x what I ended up getting at Burlington Coat Factory! But the high rating this time is for customer service. My 13-​year old misplaced her purse while we were in the store. Because we’d been all over the store, we had no idea where she left it. The store manager insisted on looking for it and even tried using the store surveillance tapes to see where we’d been. He finally found it after looking for 20 – 30 minutes. I thought that was way beyond what he was obligated to do. (Also, I love their gas coupons.) Thanks KMart!

I can’t imagine why this place is floundering. Let me guess…
you walk in and the place smells old. Not only does it smell that way, but it’s broken down and looks old. I can’t believe this place hasn’t been shot and put out of its misery. It’s a dump.
There is zero rhyme or reason with this place. Yeah, clothes go with clothes, shoes with shoes, etc., but inside each department is a train wreck. Not only that, but why do they even HAVE departments? They have nothing in each department. I looked around and thought that this must be where outdated crap comes to die.
I had to ask a LOT for the things I needed and each and EVERY time someone would stick their arm out and point and say ‘uh, it’s over there.’ If one more person did that I was going to lay down on the ground and scream. Except if the same stuff that was on the handle of my basket was on the floor I surely would have never gotten unstuck. Gross.
Customer service in this place is non-​existent. They don’t even recognize the humans pushing baskets as customers. I think they see them as obstacles to getting to break or to hide from the reality of their job because being helpful to me was the last thing on their To Do list, right behind cry in the bathroom, quit in a rage and set Kmart on fire.
They also don’t hire quality people at Kmart (because using ‘quality’ and ‘Kmart’ in the same sentence should be punishable by having to work here) because if they did they would understand that I stood in line for 15 minutes and didn’t appreciate them opening a new lane and letting the woman who just showed up go ahead of me. That didn’t happen by the way, because I stopped it. The woman was actually mad. With that kind of reasoning I’m going to assume she worked there.
This place needs to be shut down with all this crap in there and burned. To the ground. Until not even ashes exist. Please, for everyone’s sake.

Long lines :-(, at least on the date I caught them. Was just buying a hot pad
(which was at a great price BTW). 3 people in front of me… must have waited
20 minutes.
I went there a couple days later for dental floss, and was in & out. I think they
ask too many questions when you leave, like for a kmart card, do you want to
donate, and do I want the warranty. I guess all that slows things down.
Anyway, I’d go again because of the great deals.

Far and few inbetween but K-​Mart lives in Springfield, VA !
Upon walking in to return some items I was greeted by a K Mart associate inquiring if I would like to donate money to a worthy cause. She was holding a black bucket with changes and some dollar bills. Although I’m all about supporting worthy causes I was not sure if she really worked there as this associate was not wearing a name tag /​badge. Also there were no signs advertising what cause (s) K-​Mart was supporting today or this month.
As a result I declined nicely and went straight to customer service to return my items. The wait time was about five minutes. K-​Mart had two workers servicing the returns. One worker was actually checking out a fellow employee. Once I presented my receipt and merchandise the associate scanned my items and immediately provide a credit to my card. No issues or engaging questions to validate my return.

Your typical K-​Mart except parking seems to be more of a pain here. They probably get a lot more business since they are located in a high-​traffic shopping plaza.

Shady. Awful. Don’t bother.
I just needed 4 of those recessed kitchen light bulbs. They had a 6-​pack so I chose that… the first one I picked up looked sketch like someone had opened it, returned it, and they taped it back together… so I chose a different one. It was also taped (not as badly) so I figured it was standard.
I get home and there are only 5 bulbs in the 6-​pack. (!!)
I call — I can’t be credited for the price of the missing bulb… I have to go in. Awesome, thanks.
Probably the most disturbing thing is that the manager I talked to didn’t ask pertinent questions such as «oh, which type of light bulb was it? Maybe I should check to ensure other consumers don’t have the same problem.» He didn’t seem to even be phased so it seems like these kind of shenanigans are standard there.
