Mr Kennedy is very knowledgeable about stamps and the owner of the business. He’s no nonsense and has been in the stamp business quite some time. If you are a collector and don’t mind a bit of eccentricity this store is a must.

Kennedy’s is a mangy, dusty little shop with a rude curmudgeon of an owner. My 8-year-old son is very interested in coin collecting and has amassed a nice little collection. He had saved up his allowance for a few weeks and was very excited to go to the coin shop to make a purchase. Being an excited child, my son asked lots of questions. The owner and his wife responded but with an attitude that suggested my son was inconveniencing them. After the last question(my son, a Cub Scout, noticed a photo on the wall of Scouts at the shop and asked if they’d visited), the owner snarled at me and said, «I’m sorry, but I don’t feel well and this isn’t a toy store.» Perhaps times have changed, but when I worked in retail, answering customer questions was a key part of my job. What’s more, as difficult as it is today for small businesses to succeed, I find it mind-boggling that an owner would deliberately drive away customers. As I reminded Mr. Surly, all coin and stamp collectors(AKA future clients) start out as children! Finally, the store is a fire marshall’s worst nightmare – so jam packed with boxes and merchandise that it is difficult to maneuver. Suffice it to say, we will not return to Kennedy’s. Ever.

I absolutly love this shop. Mr. Kennedy is wonderful; he always remembers me and is very helpful and knowledgable about coins. He takes his time to throughly answer my questions, while usually providing a laugh as well. His prices are very fair, the best I’ve seen in this area.

Great store for both stamp and coin collectors. Mr Kennedy and his wife are always in the shop and happy to answer any questions. He has been a stamp collector for 50 years and knows his stuff!

After multiple visits to Mr. Kennedy’s shop, I have found my favorite place to pick up supplies for my coin collection. Mr Kennedy is always there and willing to offer advice and experienced knowledge about items of interest. And he always answers questions or concerns pertaining to my personal collection from how best to organize sets, to upkeep and cleaning. The shop itself is small but is filled to the brim with supplies for both coin and stamp collecting, as well as books. It is very clean, and smells of old books and coins. He always has a selection of older coins on display to be sold or traded, and is happy to help evaluate items that are brought in. His prices are incredibly fair as he is in the business as a hobbyist and not as a profiteer. I love going into his shop and seeing what he has to offer, as well as to listen to some of his stories. Unfortunately his hours limit my ability to get to his shop. I work 9 to 5 in Manassas, and often arrive back in town by the time he is closing or shortly there after as he closes down at 6. My only other option is to go on Saturdays because he is closed on Sundays. Overall a great shop with a wonderful owner. I am glad that I stumbled across this place and am always happy to go back and suggest it to other collectors.
