JWB Tree and Landscape

JWB Tree, price was right, but company is poorly run and communication is terrible. After signing the proposal, I had to consistently call Mr. Brown weekly for a month to ask him when he was coming. He gave me every excuse in the book why he couldn’t make it, and finally told me he would show up the next week, but would call the day before. He never called and showed up on a random Friday night at 7pm to start the work. His guys got about ½ the tree down before dark, and left a massive pile of limbs/​branches/​brush on the ground. He said they’d be back the next morning and didn’t show because of rain. He said they’d be back Monday morning first thing and it’d be all done by time I got home from work. Nothing was done. Called again and said it’d be done by Tuesday when i got home from work. Again, nothing was done. Promised first thing Wednesday morning, and again failed to show. Finally on Wednesday evening he showed up and dropped the rest of the tree and left behind a giant mess and enormous chunks of wood 4 feet thick and wide. Not what we’d agreed to. The only thing he was good at was sending the invoice for payment the day after finishing the tree. Avoid at all costs.

Be careful with JWB Tree and Landscape. The main issue we had with Jerry and JWB Trees was his lack of follow up. Jerry planted quite a number of trees for us. We were told the trees had a 6 month guarantee and that he would be by to check on them from time to time to make sure everything was ok. A few of the trees did not take. To me, this is understandable considering how many trees we had planted and we were not upset. However, we were upset when Jerry was very slow to respond. It took multiple phone calls, texts and emails to get him to respond. He then emailed me saying that he drove by the house and saw we were not watering enough. I followed his watering directions for two weeks. After several attempts to contact him, he emailed saying we were watering too much. I again followed his directions. Finally, we were able to get him to come and replace three of the trees. He said that we will be keeping an eye on these new trees as well as two other trees. The two other trees did not pull through and I emailed Jerry. He was out of town and said he would come by in two weeks. I waited two weeks and called him. He did not respond so I texted and emailed him without a response. I finally emailed him and stated to him for the first time that I was upset. He emailed back saying that he would tend to the trees as soon as he could and «to do myself a favor and not threaten him». He stated if I was not happy then he would refund the money I spent for one of the trees. I emailed him apologizing if he took my email as a threat but I was only expressing my frustration with him. I also stated that I would respect his work and wait for him to tend to the trees. All that I asked was that he keep me updated via email as to his timeline. I let three weeks past and he still has not emailed me. I sent one final email asking for a refund of the dead trees and he has yet to respond.
I would not recommend Jerry. He does not stand by his work and will not be there once the job is done.
