Awesome sushi! The fried philly roll is one of my favorites there. And the fried rice is to die for! The wait staff is(mostly) friendly and I’ve never had a bad experience there.

I’m usually extremely picky about my Chinese food, but this place by far exceeded my standards. Their sesame seed chicken was one of the best I’ve ever had. The portions are huge, and every meal comes with a bucket of white rice. Can’t rave about this place enough, absolutely pleased with it!

Poor service food quality has gone down hill. Ordered all you can eat sushi, was able to get one plate in 45 mins. The dishwashe/busboy on us and was also making sushi. He was also walking around with disposable gloves on never changed them after clearing table. Then the cashier/waitress finally came for drink refills, it was more than 25 mins we waited to try and order another set of rolls. I refused to pay the full price for both meals, we we’re disgusted by the quality of the rolls and there was brown dried up lettuce in them. Never again this place is horrible now. This is the second time we had a bad experience here. I refrained from writing a bad review last time, hoping it was a fluke, guess it’s reality now.

The food here is your typical Asian cuisine. Average. The sushi is good but don’t do the all you can eat! We were told forcefully by our waiter NOT to share our sushi. I understand that some may abuse the«all you can eat» by only have one person order, but we were sharing all of our food in general. The waiter was very short with us and barely came back to refill our waters. They also charge you $ 1 for every piece of sushi you don’t eat if you do the all you can eat special. I find this a bit ridiculous. You can’t take it home either. If you’re in the mood for sushi, there are multiple other places nearby that offer better quality food and better customer service.

I got sesame chicken and my bf got general tzo’s. The sauces on them were fine but the pieces of chicken were gross. Mostly fat, not cooked the way most chinese chicken entrees are. The egg rolls that came with the meals were disgusting and they don’t give an option to get something else instead. I had fried rice, which was edible but nothing spectacular. It had a lot of large onions. He also got lo mein and again, edible but nothing special.

The sushi I’ve bought from the grocery store looked/tasted as good. It just didn’t taste fresh and looked mediocre. Nothing pulling me back. Perhaps there other food is good, but not the sushi.

We have a hard time finding good Chinese food, but this place is pretty good. The quality of the chicken meat is good. We usually get chick egg foo young, broccoli & chic, and orange or sesame chic. The crab Rangoon is the sweet kind– and delicious. They have PORK& shrimp egg rolls which are hard to find in a lot of Chinese restaurants when traveling around the country. They are good too-not tiny and not spring roll like. The steamed dumplings are pretty good too. It’s a little pricier compared to the cheaper places but it is good– we keep coming back. If anyone has suggestions for other good Chinese restaurants in Springfield please let me know! Want to try others.

My husband and I are regulars here. You can’t get better sushi for the price anywhere else. All you can eat sushi provides you with an elaborate menu for a great price. The owners are friendly people. We love coming here.

All I really wanted was hot tea and chicken soup, because I have a cold. We checked on Unilocal and found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The staff was friendly, but I felt they had language problems that prevented complete understanding of our needs. I suggested to my husband that we order a dish of stir fried broccoli. My husband said we didn’t need to, as the orange chicken was described as having broccoli in it. The waitress said they only put in broccoli if the customer wanted it. We wanted it. The soup, pot stickers, and chicken came all at the same time. The food was good, but the hot Chinese mustard I requested never came. When the bill came, we were charged $ 1 for broccoli in our chicken dish. It wasn’t the dollar; it was the principle. They removed the charge, saying the new menus don’t have broccoli listed in the orange chicken, and agreeing that we were given old menus. The cashier also muttered something about everything coming at once was her fault. If we lived here, perhaps we’d give them another try. But, we don’t.

Great sushi however it can get pricey. $ 18.99 for dinner, if you have a big appetite then this is a great place for you. It’s all you can eat but what you don’t eat you have to pay them back $ 1, nice gimmic to keep from over ordering. Start with a couple rolls then go from there. I liked the bubba gump & spicy tuna rolls.

I’ve been eating here for years and I never get tired of the food. The sushi at Hunan is the best in all of Springfield and even comes at a reasonable price. The Bubba Gump and Black Dragon rolls are absolutely delicious! If stoping by definitely try them.

Tried the all you can eat sushi dinner. I did like the variety of sushi that have available. Since it was crowded, took a while for my orders to be delivered. I did enjoy all the selections I made and will be returning for more in the future.

Just very very average Chinese food. Nothing that great or anything to go back for.

I’ve been here several times now and good lord, this place is a mixed bag. The sushi isn’t my favorite, but it’s decently cheap so I’ve always kept coming back. Don’t get the individual sushi pieces or even the rolls that depend on the FISH to shine — stick with the dressed up rolls, the ones with tempura batter and lots of sauce. And bring a big group. My best experiences here have been with 5+ people, not just for obvious«you get to try more stuff» reasons, but also, most importantly, the SERVICE. When I come here in big groups, the service is usually decent to good. Courteous, helpful servers, fast service, etc. When I DON’T come here with big groups I feel like I’m being treated like an inconvenience. The first time I came without a large group, just with me and two other people, I asked if the check could be split and the server gave me a rather venomous look and stated they«did not do that» there. Which is silly because they certainly have had no problem doing so with large groups. I ended up paying for both of my friends and collecting cash from them later — kind of annoying. The second time I came without a large group, they didn’t give us our own individual plates for all you can eat sushi. I thought this was odd and asked the server, after our first round of rolls came out, if we could please get plates. He responded by giving me an incredulous look and saying nothing at all, just staring at me. I repeated my question, and he snapped back at me «You can just get your own at the buffet.» I mean, yes, of course we could, but that didn’t even cross our minds because we hadn’t ordered anything to do with the buffet. We were all getting all you can eat sushi. Normally they bring out plates and soy sauce containers for everyone so you aren’t dripping and dropping crap all over the table? I don’t know, it was really just bizarre and sort of insulting. What really took the cake, though, was after this happened, we watched the server go back to the bar, duck his head in, say something to the chefs while pointing at our table, and then he disappeared and did not bring our plates until after the next round of sushi was done. From then on, when he brought ANYTHING to us, he acted very sullen, dropped the plates on the table in an obviously careless and dismissive way, did not say a SINGLE word to us, even when we were trying to lessen the awkward atmosphere by thanking him, and I am NOT kidding you — every single time he finished bringing us another plate of food, he would march directly back to the food preparation area, POINTATOURTABLE, and whisper about us. I truly don’t think we were rude. We just wanted plates because we were sort of making a mess without them. We continued to thank him for his service and he continued to act as though we were the world’s biggest burden. This was the final straw, I think. The sushi here isn’t good enough to put up with that kind of nonsense. If you want good sushi in Springfield, try Happy Sushi. It’s more expensive, but much better quality, and the gentleman who runs the place is wonderful, as is all of his staff.

Best Chinese in Springfield! The sushi rolls are really good(try the California roll). I also enjoy the chicken lo mein. Service is just so so but the food is so good that you don’t care!

This place is so difficult to review because it is wildly inconsistent. There was one visit followed by a vow never to return, but who the hell can argue with ALLYOUCANEAT sushi for $ 18? The caveat is that if you don’t eat all you order, it’s $ 2 per piece. Ouch. When it’s one of those visits where there is a competent sushi chef present, no problem. I can easily tuck away 30 pieces of sushi. No joke. But on the off-chance it’s no good, that really adds up. I have actually resorted(on one occasion) to wrapping the ten pieces of inedible dragon roll in napkins, stuffing them in my bag, and discreetly sneaking them off the the toilet where they met their demise. I’ve never eaten anything but the sushi here, so I can’t speak for the Chinese food. Hunan is definitely a gamble. You’re either going to walk away full of sushi and very happy, or angry and disgusted.

Finally tried Hunan after hearing so much about it. I am a sushi fiend so I am surprised it took me this long to get here. I wasnt let down. First, an all-you-can-eat sushi place is both music to my ears and also dangerous for the place that runs it. My dining companion and I went in to do damage and at $ 16… $ 16!!! it is a steal. I dont think anyone expects the most high-quality sushi at this type of place, but I was surprisingly pleased. The fish was probably about a 7 on a 10-scale, though some of the nigiri yellowtail pieces were a bit dry on the edges. There were lots of rolls that were creative and very good. Over all I was really happy with the experience here. The ambiance is nice with a choice of sitting at a table, booth or the sushi bar and the people are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning to satisfy my sushi cravings.

Certainly one of our favorite local haunts. We’ve been going there since they reopened after the tornado in March 2006. The all-you-can-eat sushi is a favorite of mine and the the wife and kids find lots of things they like as well. One kid loves the California rolls and they make them in kid-friendly sizes for us. The other kid loves the shrimp tempura rolls. My wife can’t get near the place without eating an order of gyoza. The food is always great but certainly, one of the very best features of this place is the service. Nea and Jay(owners) are extremely warm and welcoming and every visit feels more like going to someone’s house for dinner than out to a restaurant… without the obligatory offer to help with the dishes.
