Holiday Inn Express & Suites Springfield

I had a great stay! Nice workout room, bed was super comfy, water pressure was great, and the complimentary breakfast was so amazing! Definitely a winner in my book!

Pretty straightforward hotel. They are working on a renovation and that’s a good thing because the place is outdated and felt like a hospital. I’m sure it will look ten times better after the improvements are made. The first room we checked into didn’t have air conditioning working but they switched us to another room. Breakfast was good and the cinnamon rolls are always awesome. Good location close to downtown springfield.

It’s definitely not the best place to stay by any means, but it was a place to stay with fresh hot water, hot breakfast, and large parking lot (we had a uhaul).
Rooms were clean enough, like other reviewers said, the bed skirts weren’t cleaned from the pen marks and such. But the sheets were clean, the towels were as others said ancient, but all in all it was a good place to stop and stay. Plus the breakfast was good. There is coffee, a pancake machine, bagels, breads, eggs, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, and gravy.
Not really worth it for the $ 119 for two queen beds, but when you don’t have a choice, this works great!

I read someone that stayed at HIE had a FLAT SCREEN TV!!! I had a TUBE TV!!! Seriously!!! Its true the towels where ancient. The Front Desk Clerk that we had truely checked out!!! He called someone and said he never entered a 3^rd party order before (Hotwire) and the women (me) was getting frustrated and he needed to get me checked into a room. I was getting tired of listening to his crap and felt like saying «don’t get me involved in your crazy world!»
The room wasn’t worth $ 122.08 for 2 Queen beds.
Hotwire, I will never use you again!!!

Ok enough is enough. I’ve stayed in a lot of crummy places but HIE should be consistent. This is the worst in this chain. The room is outdated and not clean. Markings on the wall, rust in the bathroom, no charging station on the nightstand, the room has a wicked stench. Like I said I have stayed in worse but HIE what are you thinking?! A flat screen does not make up for the towels that have clearly been used beyond their expiration date. My last straw was at the end of a shower that feels like showering in an RV, the towels are old and scratchy AND stained! Gross gross gross. Too many places to stay right on this street to ever recommend this location. I’m sufficiently grossed out and a little freaked out that walking down the hallway is eerily similar to a scene out of The Shining.

Not a great place by any stretch. It’s overpriced (unless you can get a discount) and not in very good condition. You have to go to the Crown Plazas pool which can be very crowded.
The room was ok, dusty in spots and just in general in need of an entire rehab (carpeting, walls, bathroom and shower).
The breakfast was surprisingly good –many varieties if food and plenty of seating. I was shocked how good it was and this is why it gets three instead of two stars.
Might stay again next year.

Nice and clean. Friendly guy behind the counter checked us in. I appreciated his small nuances of silliness, «from your room you will have an amazing view of… the parking lot.» Ha! When I was having breakfast with my son the girl helping with breakfast was always present and in tune with the flow of customers. She was on top of everything.

Four-​score and seven years ago, this hotel was built — and hasn’t been touched since.
The HIE are so embarrassed of this place they barely have any branding outside!
$ 99+ tax for a walk-​in (guy behind us) don’t do it, go somewhere else!
The guy at check in had clearly checked out. Uninterested, disconnected and not friendly. When he discovered we had booked through Hotwire, he stuck us in a room with two twin/​small beds.
Seriously? On a MONDAY night, off-​peak season, arriving early in the check-​in window and you couldn’t have gotten my 6ft tall husband and my preggo butt a decent sized bed? SERIOUSLY?
The bedskirt was older than me, frayed, bally and covered in pen.
The heating unit sounded like running water while it was on, so it was swiftly turned off.
Walls were scuffed with black marks, pen, dirt and carpets, curtains, wallpaper etc are all in dire need of upgrading.
The place was noisy, walls were paper thin and sleep quality was poor.
No pool in this complex, you’ve to go to the Crown Plaza next door.
The previous guest in our room had a 6am alarm, which was NOT appreciated whilst we were enjoying our vacation.
Neither was the 8am door-​hammering from maintenance — which, was seemingly only to determine if the rooms had people in them. Which, correct me if i’m wrong, but there’s a much more scientific, and easier way to find out such information!!!
Horrible. Worst HIE i’ve been in, and if I could, I’d subtract the 1 star.
Upside? Plenty of parking and internet was free and decent.

It’s ok. I do stay here often and it is like 30 – 40 cheaper than the Crown Plaza. I will stay here if I continue to save that per night. Nothing special and nothing really awful. So I guess it is worth the savings…

In need of updating and a more conscientious housecleaning staff. Our room was dusty behind the beds, the duvet cover had small stains, dust ruffles were askew, the bathroom was missing toiletries, towels were sloppily folded (and missing, we called for more, which were delivered promptly). The room smelled strongly of an air fresher, as did the elevator lobby. Maybe the HVAC system needs an upgrade? I’m not that fussy, truly. But this HIE obviously isn’t as well maintained as the others we’ve stayed at. I’m sure its location means it’s a busy hotel, and I know hotel staff don’t make a lot — still, disappointed.

stayed here because crown plaza was booked next door for my conference. always stayed at crown and this wasnt much less in price so i expected similar quality. WAY WRONG. pay the extra few bucks and stay at the crown. the hallways smelled mildewy and our room smelled stale. it was a nonsmoking room but smelled like old dirty towels and sheets. just a crappy room. the sheets were nice but didnt go along with our 1987 zenith tube television. elevators at half way down the hall, which is ok but they are tiny and dirty. this place even has a vending machine with chicken wings in it… yeah…classy. not. i heard next door is suppose to be nice, i think its a wyndom or marriot or something. but seriously, stay at the crown, it was a difference of maybe $ 10 and if the rooms werent all booked i probably would have switched. plus you do have to walk outside to get into the expo fair even though they say there is a «walkway” — yeah an uncovered one.
