Clean room, great price and super friendly management!

Awesome little place if you’re on a budget. Clean, friendly staff, under new management. Parking is a lil cramped but that’s to be expected. Restaurants nearby. I’ll definitely stay here again if I’m in the area :-)

Talk about ambiance… we got a nonsmoking room, which was clearly taped to the door. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the overwhelming smell of smoke mixed with what smelled like urine. Next we noticed the cigarette burns in the chairs and the sheets. A further tour of the room revealed spacious and creative shower plumbing. Bring your own electrical tape if theirs starts leaking. If you need a good back scratching head for the luxury bath towels, but don’t bank on any freebie soaps… you should probably bring your own. The ac did provide cold air if you didn’t mind a constant rattling throughout the night… but it was only $ 60. We would have given 2 stars to account for the price and the value of the experience, but the previous 5 star rating seemed a little inflated.

Four stars for super friendly service, price, location, amenities, and Yay! I’m a fan(not based on traditional hotel ratings) all for the price of $ 38 a night! That’s for one room and one bed with my 11 year old daughter and we shared a bed. Update: Added 5th star for 2nd night of super-amenities like hot chocolate :) Location: Coming from NY, Off the I70, about ½ hour past Columbus, 100+ miles before Dayton.(Note the«0» was missing on the Springfield 30 miles sign on the expressway.) I was going west on I-70, took a right when I exited at Exit 62, and it was maybe ½ mile down the street on the left. 62 is the Springfield exit, although the town is Harmony, hence the name of the motel. Google has it under Springfield. Just exit 62, take a right, it’s on your left hand side. Small town motel, but near civilization. Tim Horton’s five miles down the road! The road was pretty clear when I got in at 3:30am, but sounds pretty busy now. Cars woke me up. Small motel, but clearly lit and easy to turn into. When you look for stuff nearby, they’ll probably show up in searches for Springfield instead of Harmony. Stores and restaurants are about 5 miles further west in Springfield, OH. Personally I wanted to check out a nearby coffee shop that operates as a non-profit for charity and a rock garden with a rock castle sculpture — BUT it’s pouring and I can barely see cars out my right side when driving and parking, so going to have to pass. When I called ahead to reserve a room, the woman on the phone was extremely nice, gave me directions, and said a midnight arrival was fine. Turned out I left(coming from NY) an hour and a half late, had to make a few stops, came across snow flurries in NY and RAINRAINRAIN all the way there, winds my truck didn’t like, and I didn’t arrive until 3:30 am. She cheerfully welcomed me despite the fact I’m sure I woke her up, as did one of her cats(behind the window — the other cat was sleeping), and said I could check out at 1pm instead of the listed 11am so I could get some sleep before hitting the road. You will need a password to access the wifi, so ask for it at the desk(or just call 0 on the room phone, even at 4am). You do have a choice of smoking and non-smoking. I had a non-smoking room, and it didn’t smell like smoke at all. There were about five pickups and 2 cars in the parking lot when I arrived, couple from different states. It was quiet. No questionables. Felt safe. The room is small, but we’re just sleeping so that’s fine for us. No table and chairs, no room for them in the room I’m in, no idea if other rooms are bigger. No consequence to me, but might be for you. There is a roomy industrial-ish shower, no bath in my room. Getting in to test the waters after I get off Unilocal :) What it includes: fridge, microwave, cable(cartoon network verifiable), good wifi. Toothpaste(bonus points even though I brought some!), shampoo, soap. Instant coffee and cups, which is nice, but no coffee maker. Good sized pillows, with an extra one on a shelf. Standard amount of towels. Bed was clean and comfortable. Didn’t have to ask for anything. Room was toasty comfortable warm when I walked in which is in extra extra extra bonus points! I was all wet and sore and tired and walked into a nice comfy warm room.(I hate cold.) I was so afraid of having to crank the heat for an hour before I warmed up to sleep! Update: I decided to stay here another night on the way home rather than potentially battle snow after driving ten hours. I was again warmly welcomed, this time with hot coca, bottled water and kid drink mix in the room! True Mom&Pop hospitality! This motel is what customer service should be. Room is older(as you’d expect from a local motel). There’s exposed pipes, top right corner of mirror broke in bathroom(looks rather artistic actually), some loosening caulk, but it is clean and I feel comfortable bringing my daughter here. Sheets and bed were pristine clean, and appliances & furniture was clean. I have a mixed plus/minus feeling with an awkward electrical outlet over the bed(no headboard). It’s rather low, dangerous for toddlers, but was convenient for us with laptop, heating pad(back), cell phone, tablet… etc.etc. Probably different in each room. But you and your plugins should be fine.(I’ve been in places where I have to unplug something behind heavy furniture just to charge my phone. I appreciate plugs!) Off to test the shower. Don’t know if I’ll be coming down this route again, but if I do, this will definitely be on our list of the first place to stay if we need to sleep! Update: I came this route again and stayed, even moreso pleased. By the way, shower has good pressure. If you like those wide-light-prickly showers you won’t like it — but great for those who equate showers with body massages. If I go to Indianapolis from NY again, I’ll be sure to stay
