Exceptional customer service, attentive to detail, incredibly accommodating to special circumstances — not only was Global Moving Systems the most reasonably priced moving company in DC when I researched, they went above and beyond to assist me on short notice. I recommend them without hesitation, and will gladly use them for any future moves!

We had Global Moving Systems move us this summer and we couldn’t have been happier. I found a deal on Angie’s list and called them before purchasing it. The man I spoke to was extremely friendly and helpful and I was able to schedule a time that worked best for me. On the day of the move they arrived on time and got to work. They were very careful when packing up our furniture and took extreme caution in moving some of our more fragile items. After doing an efficient job loading up the truck it was onto the biggest challenge. We were moving into an apartment on the 4^th story of a building with no elevator in the middle of summer. These guys were amazing! I didn’t hear one complaint even though I could tell that they were busting their butts. They gladly accepted the water bottles I was handing out but didn’t stop moving for a minute. I was very impressed and would absolutely recommend them to anyone I knew that was moving.

I used them to move out of my townhouse and into a temporary house while we looked for another house to buy. They were excellent! We liked them so much that we booked them again when found found another house to move into a couple months later. Hopefully we won’t be moving anytime soon, but if we were, I’d definitely book them again. They were very friendly, beyond helpful, and zero complaints. They moved an extremely heavy piano with a smile on their face (literally). Highly recommend!

Excellent, timely and very carefully done. They are very friendly and make you feel like moving is very easy. They pay attention to your needs and help you on every detail of the moving process. Very impressed with the care they handled our furniture! Great prices, everything at the end was according to estimate; if there is additional cost they will tell you up front before doing it, and would explore options at lower costs if needed. The guys are very respectful and professional, definitely recommend to use.

These movers were awesome! I wasn’t all the way prepared when they showed up to help me move out of my apartment and into storage but they assisted me the whole way through and were so nice about it while I was stressing. They made the move really smooth and were so great to work with. We’ll definitely be recommending them to all of our friends and we’ll definitely be calling them to help us move into our new home! I’ve dealt with a number of moving companies over the years, and this one was the best. I had to move some furniture after my dad’s death and had to do it remotely. (Which could be a scary proposition.) Everything went like clockwork. I received a timely and fair quote. When it came to the move, they were on time and professional. The handled the furniture with care and to top it all off… the cost came below the quoted price. It was a true pleasure dealing with them. I would use these guys again in a heart beat and would highly recommend these guys to anyone making a move!

We did a move across town in November 2015. These guys were amazing. Scheduling was easy. They showed up a bit early and immediately got to work. Somehow they moved our entire house across town in about 8 hours. The price was more than reasonable, the workers were all extremely polite and respectful, and they hardly stopped moving. I had to beg them to take breaks and eat something.
I highly, highly recommend this service. I am not a bot. They didn’t pay me to write this. I don’t work for them. I was just very impressed.

Eric and his crew moved my family and I from Arlington to Sterling. Along the way to Sterling we stopped by my parents house to pick up 2 couches and a TV and proceeded to out new home. After the first wave of moving, we then went to our storage unit for round two. After 9 hrs of moving, the guys set up my daughter’s crib and moved all our stuff to the desired locations in our house. They wanted us to double check all items were in the desired spot before leaving. Not one item was broken or damaged, loved this crew if guys. A+ professionals, very courteous and friendly. Highly recommend!!!

Used this guys last week to ship some furniture from VA to CA, I received a great estimate over the phone, Eugene locked the rate and sent me by email binding quote based on my inventory list, I added up 2 boxes and my estimate never changed, guys kept my items in secure warehouse for a week and shipped it out to west coast, 2 strong uniformed movers showed up, unloaded furniture within 2 hours, no damages or scratches, all items were wrapped up with pads, I will definitely recommend them in future to all my friends !

We did a local moving (alexandria to springfield) and i got a quote with my guys moving, interstate, olympia, brown moving and i felt very comfortable booking with global moving because they got the best rate but also the owner even helped me by doing a 2 move instead one big one which helped me a lot because i have 2 kids and needed to do a partial move to get things settled in the house and than the final move with beds and etc.
We had a very heavy and long couch that we thought was going to be hard to move and they did very easy and fast no issues. To make it less expensive we did pack all our boxes but was not problem and once we moved to our new house they put things were they belong (meaning ½/​3 floor and nothing got broken!)
I got the same main person doing the move which was great and they were super nice!
I highly recommend them and hope you have a happy move! For me i hope this is our last move of many years!

We used them for our moving needs earlier this year. Overall, they provided an excellent service. We had an issue with one of the movers but the Company was quick to respond and address the situation. The price was good but they do charge a lot for supplies. However, I think that’s normal for moving companies. I would consider hiring them again for a future move.

We used this company for two moves this year — the first when we moved furniture and boxes in preparation for putting the house on the market, then again to move the rest of our belongings after the house was sold. We were very satisfied with every detail of both experiences, from the initial scheduling to unloading at our new residence. They are true professionals.

Awesome movers! We downsized to a smaller residence. We were really worried about the cost of using movers so we had already done a lot of the moving ourselves (clothes, dishes, small household items, etc). We mainly had big furniture items left to move. We still had a ton of stuff to move though. I didn’t think we had a lot of stuff but we have lived in our house for over 10+ years so it was still a LOT of stuff and ended up filling up the crew’s truck completely.
We contacted a lot of moving companies for quotes and we were unable to do any in-​person estimates. We ended up choosing Global Moving Systems since they were the company that communicated the best with us. Their hourly rate was one of the most expensive ($ 110/​hour as of this review), but we felt the most comfortable giving them our business. The office contact did try to be as clear as possible regarding the estimate. «Estimate» might be a misnomer. It was a local move and for local moves they have a 3 hour minimum cost ($ 110×4 = $ 440). A 10% deposit from this minimum cost is required when you schedule your move ($ 440*.10 = $ 44). This minimum cost includes 1 hour of travel time and they don’t charge for fuel or mileage for local moves. For local moves, they also don’t go by an itemized list of things to move but simply the hourly rate so no matter how many things you need to move, they will move everything you want moved and just invoice you for the labor time. Regarding packing materials, blankets for packing are free but any other packing materials (including tape used to secure the blankets) are extra. You can request a packing material price list to examine the prices more closely when you ask for an estimate online. Their prices didn’t seem terribly marked up to me. I was worried that they would nickel and dime us for packing, as some companies do, but even with all our stuff, the packing just ended up being about $ 240. Not terribly unreasonable since we saw how much packing material they used. They also didn’t charge for stairs.
On the day of the move, a crew of 3 movers with their truck did arrive on time within the 4 hour window as described. We went through an initial walkthrough of the house so the crew could get an idea of what we wanted them to move (or not move). We went over paperwork and they got right down to work without wasting any time. They did a pretty great job packing everything. They didn’t wrap everything in packing material, but they did a pretty good job securing items in the truck so they didn’t shift around and get scratched or broken, so overall we were satisfied. They did wrap the majority of items and the things they did wrap, they did an excellent job on. Loading the truck took about 6 hours and the crew didn’t take a break until the end of loading for lunch.
There was an unforeseen transportation snafu after the break, but they didn’t count that against our time. We would have liked a bit more direct communication since we lost touch briefly when they took a different route to reach the next destination. The main number only reaches the main office. I think you can only get voicemail on the weekends so you wouldn’t be able to reach your moving crew directly if something happens, as things tend to do during moving. It was only a local move so we weren’t terribly worried our stuff would get lost, but we would still have liked a phone number to get in touch with the crew directly since there are a lot of things that can go wrong when you are attempting such a stressful event like moving. Everything worked out though so we were happy with the overall outcome.
Once we were able to meet up at the new location, they unloaded very efficiently and did check that all the items were placed where we wanted them to be placed. They also made sure items that they had dismantled for transport were reassembled (beds, TV stands, bookcases, etc.). We’ve heard horror stories about some moving companies that hold your stuff hostage until you pay an exorbitant amount for unloading, but this crew seemed to take great pride in their work and making sure everything was to our satisfaction before discussing the final payment. It took another 5 – 6 hours to get everything unloaded and reassembled. A long day for everyone but the crew made sure to stay until the job was completely finished. Moving is always expensive and stressful, but Global Moving Systems made it as painless as it could have possibly been. We would hire them again if we ever had to move again! Keep up the good work!

Best moving experience! Eric and team were efficient. We had a lot of items and it took two truck loads to get our stuff moved. Despite the long hours, heat and numerous stairs, Eric and team were courteous the entire time. They carefully wrapped items and placed them where we asked. Highly recommend!

We found them on Angie’s list and decided to use them for our recent move because they got very good review — and they very well deserve it. We couldn’t be happier with the service. The movers arrived right on time and start immediately. They are very professional and efficient. They took very good care of our furniture and padded them very carefully — even those ikea dressers. They were careful with all our stuffs. I have almost four boxes of dishes and they didn’t break a piece (I have used other movers in the area who also have high Unilocal reviews but who threw my dish boxes and broke a lot!). Highly recommend. Will definitely use them, well, if I ever move again.

I was tremendously pleased with this company’s service. I was really just keeping my fingers crossed to get all of my belongings to my new place without damage, and not only did they deliver on that, but they did it with a smile! My new apartment is a walk up, and they had to carry everything up 3 flights of stairs, but there was not a grumble out of them. Every time they made it up with something, they smiled and asked me politely where I would like it. They worked so hard, and were so fast! I would recommend this hard-​working, professional and downright fun bunch to anyone.

My husband and I used this service twice during our move. Once to move out of our condo and into a storage unit, and then from the storage unit to a town house. Both times we were very happy and satisfied with the service.
The first crew did take a little longer than we expected, but mostly because they had to deal with an oversized couch that didn’t fit through our narrow stairwell. Eventually they lowered it over a third floor balcony, and safely got it to the ground without any damage. The crew was wonderful and helpful and always willing to help pack and take more stuff.
Our second crew (led my Ason) was amazing! They were very quick, with each mover handling more boxes and furniture than we expected on each trip. They moved everything into our home faster than expected and did not mess up our walls! The crew was very courteous and asked where each item should go, and were willing to take the items to every room of the house.
We would highly recommend this company. Their price was better than other companies we received quotes from, and we would definitely ask for Ason’s crew if we were to use them again.

If I could give this company a zero I would. It was the worse experience, movers were unprofessional. Moving is stressful and dealing with these types of movers made it so much more stressful. The issues I had they didn’t take accountability or work to resolve. They lost boxes and they acted like it was my fault, they want to shift blame on clients and not themselves. The moving guys were unprofessional and borderline harassing my sister and sister-​in-​law.
What ever you do from my experience do not go with this company!!! Don’t believe what they sell you.
It’s not about the quote or cost, it was that 2 boxes were missing and the 2 movers were 2 rude men who sexually harassed my sister-​in-​law and sister. We have 3 ppl there who witnessed it. Taking accountability would be a good step to rectify.
