Comparable menu to Culver’s but I think this burger beats theirs. On price alone Steak N Shake comes out ahead but again this burger is nice. To me the Diet Dr. Pepper has an aftertaste but so did the one in the Arby’s that was here before(you would never know there was an Arby’s here before but the place may be haunted after hours by the ghosts of diarrhea past).

Sub par mediocre steak and shake wannabe. Service was a joke. Burger was so burnt, got my order mixed up and brought it out in sections. Over staffed and really inefficient service and the food tasted really bad. Avoid it.

I thought I loved Culvers custard until I tried Freddy’s. This is great! Great service. Clean restaurant.

Good service, great burger and clean dining area. Did not wait long for our meal. All good and will definitely eat here again. The California Burger was a hit.

Hamburgers are great! We especially loved the crispy edges on the hamburger meat! It was a unique and delicious touch to your typical burger. Fries are super thin and we didn’t care for them much. The brownie frozen sundae with vanilla custard was delicious!

We went through the drive-thru for a quick meal on the drive from STL to Chicago. The burgers were good and the malt was delicious. I’m not a huge fan of really skinny fries, but they are decent. Staff was friendly.

Fries and custard were the best part of the meal. The burgers were greasy and not anything to write home about. They serve Vienna beef hot dogs but need to make a trip to portillos for lessons in proper hot dog preparation.

Omg their California burger and the Chicago style hot dog were to die for. Also their frozen custard is a must have dessert:). Can’t wait to go back

Stopped during my drive from Chicago to Saint Louis. It’s is Fast Food which is not a great thing for me and I usually go out of my way to avoid. But this place was okay. French Fries were thin and crispy and very good; not greasy. Hamburgers were good as was the custard. I would not seek this place out for a meal but in a place of Fast Food choices I would go to Freddy’s.

It’s no secret I love Freddy’s. This one is just as good as the ones I’ve been to in Kansas, Texas and Missouri. Great patty melt with sautéed sweet onions and Swiss cheese on rye. Shoe string fries are always hot, fresh and plentiful. The special sauce is like bloomin onion sauce.

I agree with another reviewer, this place is steak-n-shake meets culvers. The burgers are good and so is the custard. The place is always packed And the service is good. Overall it is a nice greasy spoon with an average selection of fried foods.

Stopped in off 55. Husband got a double with cheese and«everything» said it was very good. I had the double with bacon. I loved it! Very low on saltyness. Very flavorful. Burgers are as good as steak n shake. The frys are BETTER than any where I’ve been. This was our first time at a freddys, wr were very pleased. Two meals $ 15.00

I like this place! My girlfriend and I stopped here to try it out and its pretty awesome! We ordered a couple of concretes and they were loaded! Not like DQ where they go skimpy on the toppings:(I got the Hawaiian and every bite there were huge chunks of strawberries and pineapple! Give this place a shot! You wont be disappointed.

Not good! I couldn’t even finish my burger because it was just not appetizing. I ordered a burger and onion rings, which tasted like grease. I feel like it was not seasoned. Then the lady asked if I wanted their special fry sauce for dipping. Of course I’d like to try their special sauce. I think it was trying to be like McDonald’s special sauce like on their Big Macs, but it was a fail. I certainly won’t go back there.

This is one of the worst burgers i’ve had in a long time. It was comparable to Steak N Shake, except cooked to a char. I could only manage three bites before I threw the thing in the garbage. It was like trying to eat cardboard.

Really good Vienna Beef brand(from Chicago) hot dogs, burgers, super skinny fries and milkshakes. When the place is crowded it’s really loud, but the food is good! Apparently some might feel the menu is lacking in healthy choices, but we were after a good ol’ American junk food fix!

Think Steak n’ Shake meets Culvers. According to their website, the only locations in Illinois so far are in Springfield & Matoon, IL. Menu options are limited to custard, hotdogs, steakburgers, grilled chicken and fries. Yes, middle America! This is where your obese people must be coming from! We opted for the«healthiest» offering: grilled chicken breast sandwich and fries.(Ok, fine… fries aren’t healthy but darn it! We could not resist that sweet smell of fried potatoes! Yes, their fries are yummy! Cue Homer Simpson’s voice: Hmm… fries.) While we were eating, we were subjected to the super annoying voice going: «Order 155, your order is ready. Number 1−5−5. Your order is ready.» After 10 minutes of this, we could not wait to get the hell out of there. At least Culver’s gives you a number and delivers the food to your table rather than subject you to this nasally voice torture. Perhaps this is their way of making sure patrons don’t linger longer than 15 mins in their restaurant. Talk about FAST food! All in all, not bad if you want a quick bite to satisfy the fat person in you. However, I’m still partial to Culver’s. There are more choices in the Culver’s menu and at least you can get some salad if you want to shut up that health nazi in your head who’s screaming at you for giving in to your fast food joint cravings. I’m hoping Freddy’s will have healthier offerings at some point.
