Lots of visual appeal and good food going on at the Fountain on Main. The burger is the main attraction for me. No deep fryer so they serve it with potato chips. Retro flavors on the menu with recreations of famous recipes from Springfield’s past. Olive nut salad? Sounds like the Paleo crowd would be into that. The ice cream is from Young’s so no problem there. The views of downtown from the front room are pretty great. It was a bright, sunny day. The trees were rustling in the breeze, puffy clouds floating by, the fountain was founting, framed in by the pleasing(to me) modern design of the square. Get down here for lunch if you can. It’s cool to see business moving downtown and it’s cool to support people who are willing to take the risk these days. Good burger, nice people, great views, four stars.

This place gets an A for atmosphere, good food, homemade desserts and plenty of menu choices. The owner and staff are so friendly. I love the egg salad and the chocolate malts are to die for! Great specials that change each day.

My wife has been to the Fountain on Main many, many times. She says they have a olive sandwich that is to die for. I’m not really an olive fan but my wife craves this sandwich so much that she even said it’s better than sex! I hope they stop serving this so I don’t have so much competition. ;-)
