Elkhorn Trail Rifles is a federally license dealer in both standard and NFA related firearms. We can get you the rifles, handguns, shotguns, silencers, short barreled rifles, and all other weapons you need to exercise your Second Amendment Rights, whether on the range, in the home, or afield.

History

Established in 2015.

Matt Thomsen is the primary owner and operator of Elkhorn Trail Rifles. He is also our head armorer who completes and tests every custom build that heads out our doors.

Matt has over twenty years of service as a municipal law enforcement officer. While he is primarily a patrol grunt, Matt also serves his agency as a SWAT Team Leader and member, firearms instructor, agency expert in use of force, and armorer on AR-​platform weapon systems. He is also a former sniper.

Matt also spent a year away from civilian law enforcement protecting our Nation’s dignitaries overseas on a high threat protection contract with the Department of State.

Matt holds both Basic and Advanced Armorer certifications for AR-​platform weapon systems. He has extensive experience diagnosing and repairing issues with these rifles, as well as building complete weapon systems from the ground up.
