Ecobuilding Bargains

Visited Ecobuilding Bargains with my boyfriend to look for remodel materials for our new house. This place is a WAREHOUSE of recycled home wares for the kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, and beyond.
We were looking for an external solid wood door with a glass window (they have about 100 of them) and a double hung window (they have about 50 of them). Along the way, we looked a light fixtures, old tubs (to convert into an outdoor «hot tub»), wood paneling, vintage stoves/​ranges, and antique furniture.
They have so much more: entire cabinet systems (very nice quality) for a couple of grand, which included a stove and dishwasher in some cases; sink basins, stands and faucets; recycled paint (didn’t know there was such a thing); lumber and wood trim, and on and on.
This place appears to be the most affordable way to do renovations on your home and I can’t wait ’til we come back to make our purchases. The Viking range/​oven was still there when I stopped in– I wish I had room for it!

This place is great if you’re trying to redo a room on the cheap or find some antique lighting, plumbing, etc that someone ripped out of their home because they’re idiots and replaced with all builder grade Home Depot level quality crap. They have tons of old double hung windows, doors, wood trim, bathroom fixtures, sinks, tile, and even kitchen cabinets.
We picked up a console sink for $ 40 (at most antique stores this would go for $ 500+) an entry way dutch door, and some various wooden pieces for a house project.
When we were there they were in the process of getting an entire kitchen renovation old appliances and cabintry from a house in Boston. They had 2 meile dishwashers, viking range/​oven and a subzero refrigerator. I’m not sure what the price was because they were taking bids on the entire kitchen, but I’m sure it was way way way below retail. I’m sure this isn’t a normal occurance but it just goes to show that if you go to places like this often enough you could get some rock bottom prices on top of the line products. Check this place out and bring some cash/​check. I don’t believe they accept cards.
