Dr. Cross utilizes the surgical microscope on all procedures. There are tremendous advantages gained by utilizing the surgical microscope along with the principles of microsurgery. The surgical microscope has a magnification range of two to twenty-​six times that of the naked eye. This increase in magnification allows for greater precision and hand control.

Scientific studies demonstrate surgeons utilizing the surgical microscope coupled with the principles of microsurgery provide the patient with the following benefits: decreased inflammatory response, faster healing time, increased patient comfort, increased esthetic results.

As a lifelong resident of Springfield, Illinois and a periodontist with a family legacy of dentists and surgeons. J. David Cross D.D.S. embraces the highest health care values and continually strives to provide the highest quality experiences to his community.

Dr. Cross and his wife Susan have three children, Graham, Isabel and Agnes. They are members of Springfield’s Blessed Sacrament Parish.
