Chi Town Finest

I used to love this place and their gyros especially but the place has unfortunately gone way down hill. The food is still really good but the new staff is really S-​L-​O-​W! Due to the nature of the food they serve, service here has never been as fast as, say, McDonald’s but the quality of the food made up for it. Now though, it just isn’t worth the long, long wait you have to endure to get your food.

Just turned around and took my entire family from out of town with me. (8 people). A black Cadillac SUV was parked in the handi-​cap parking spot. I noticed that the vehicle was parked half way in the spot and half way over the lines marked for vehicles that need to unload wheel chairs. I particularly noticed that the vehicle did not have a handi-​cap license plate or sticker. We shook our heads because my 88 year old handi-​cap grandfather parked next door. With only one spot available, it happens often where you have to park further. I understand this. But it does very much bother me when vehicles park illegally in spots created to accommodate the disabled. A nicely dressed man walks out of the building and gets in the Cadillac. I asked him if he was the owner and he said yes. I pointed out the situation and he said it was fine because he was the owner. I work with handi-​cap people so I am sensitive to their needs, but for an owner of an establishment to brush it off when I point it out and have attitude like he is better than the law really was disappointing. The best way he could have handled that was simply to apologize and agree that it is wrong to illegally park in a spot that is intended for his customers with disabilities. I was a customer. I no longer will be. Food can be very good, but if the owner’s attitude towards his customers places him above respecting others, than I wish him the best of luck and hope he finds perspective.

Had the Italian beef meal (dipped). It was delicious. The fries were standard. The building is a bit antiquated and could use some updating. The TV playing in the dining area is an old tube TV and it is going out. Offers a couple outdoor tables for dining as well. I will definitely come back again for the food.
