Big Daddy’s has charm, awesome chili cheese dogs, soft-serve, and a whole-lotta Americana going on. Just not sure how consistent anything is here. I’ve driven past Big Daddy’s a dozen times and always told myself I’d stop in. One weekend afternoon, we did just that. They have an awesome special, Date for $ 8, which includes two hot dogs, two bags of chips, and two drinks. I decided to upgrade and add chili and cheese to my hot dog(for an extra $ 1.50 or so), then we went ahead and got two more hot dogs, just to be safe. The girl at the register didn’t seem to sure about what she was doing, and ended up OVERCHARGING us by a couple of bucks. We paid $ 16.50 for what should have been ~$ 11.50, and I didn’t catch it ’til my card was already swiped. I was a little miffed, to be honest. We took our food and walked back behind the stand, where they have a whole bunch of picnic tables, and some outdoor toys for kids. There was no one back there! Most people order their food and eat in their cars, or take it home with them. The seating area is really quite nice! Lots of space, and you get to enjoy a nice, summery day! All my anger about being overcharged was washed away the moment I bit into my chili cheese dog. Oh. My. Goodness. Their rolls are buttered and grilled, and their chili cheese is to die for. Hot dogs are snappy and taste terrific. I DIE. The first hot dog(chili cheese) was inhaled. I ate the other one with the same gusto. The chips were your standard Lays/Doritos snack pak. I really didn’t need more food, but… Jamie offered to get ice cream. When he went up and ordered us two cones, they ended up UNDERCHARGING him! So, I guess we made our money back in one form or another. The soft serve cone was absolutely MASSIVE. I should have ordered a smaller one, because it was honestly a task to finish it. I’ll be back to Big Daddy’s, and often. And I’ll get fat on chili cheese hot dogs and not even care. I WILLCARE however, the next time I get overcharged, and I’ll be sure to mention it. Not gonna placate me with your promises of delicious hot-doggedness.

Ice cream cones bigger than you’d get at Friendly’s and for half the price. The ice cream is just Hood’s, but it’s still great to have a cheap ice cream place in the neighborhood. I wasn’t that impressed by the burgers and fries, but at least they’re quick and cheap. Good place to take your kids whether you live in the area or are just passing through on Boston Rd.

It is terrific to have a soft serve place in this neighborhood. I’ve taken the kids a few times(brought the neighborhood kids once too.) The ice cream is creamy and sweet just like it’s supposed to be. Portion sizes are borderline too big(not a complaint, just an observation). Support the little(Big) guy!

Hot Dogs come in 2 sizes, a 7inch all beef jumbo, or a 12 inch skinny dog. Both are excellent. The burgers come on grilled buns, and the ice cream is fantastic! I love the heath BD flurry, ask them to mix in some hot frudge! mmm a traditional walk-up drive in style place, with the type of food you’d expect. Served hot, fresh, and the ice cream is delicious! Cheap also.
