Springdale 18: Cinema de Lux

My son and I always go to this theater. I haven’t had a bad experience yet and look forward to the next visit.

This is unfortunately the closest theater to me, and the worst around. Dirty, crawling with entirely too many people who think it’s cool to hangout at the movies rather than go to watch the movie. The only place I have ever gone to watch a movie and left before it was over because the people were out of control in the theater. They refunded me my money, needless to say, I still left unhappy. Making the drive to West Chester and paying more for a ticket is absolutely worth not coming here.

Me and my guest were the only two in the theater and it realy smells like we were watching the movie in the toilet ugh.

I went to this theater tonight to see Dragon Ball Z resurrection F. The movie was very good and it is sad that not many Americans other than fans of the franchise can appreciate this animation. Voice acting was amazing, the comedy was good, and the action scenes were epic. More animé movies need to come to American theaters.

Meh, this place is just ok. Nothing special about their seating. They do have a bar which i suppose is nice, but it is so expensive. the food is also very expensive and not that great.
As far as the movie experience its really not bad. They also have good parking — be sure to check out the back lot if the front is really busy.

Service is terrible. They serve Pepsi products. On the weekend it’s an urban zoo… Shut this place down already !!!

This is the closet movie theater to my house so I go there all the time. It’s nothing special though. We went and saw Selma and the time we wanted it was only showing in the Director’s Hall which is $ 2-​$ 3 more expensive for nothing! It looks exactly the same and I think the chairs in the other theaters are better.

This is one of my favorite theaters! They have your typical stadium style seating and decent quality of sound. But what I love about this theater are all the different options available for the movie goer!
They have the Directors Theater — in seat service — food and drinks! What What! They also have multiple options for food… regular snack bar, Nathans Hot Dogs, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and a restaurant… that serves Beer and mixed drinks! Get in mah belly!
Anytime I can watch a good movie and have a beer, well that’s a win for me!
They also have special showings of old movies and special event showings… UFC, Holiday specials, etc. They have cheap movie days, so if you want to grab a movie for less than $ 10 bucks you can do that!
Restrooms are always clean.
I just wish they were closer to me!

A friend of mine was recently physically assaulted in the parking lot on Christmas Day. He is unable to defend himself because of a disability but that did not stop someone from harming him. Not that it matters, but it does make the matter seem irredeemable. The management team was highly unkind and apathetic to his situation. Think twice before you would give such a reprehensible page your money.

Not only has the business created an environment where this is allowed to happen, they were unsympathetic and non-​cooperative in addressing the situation. I would not recommend this cinema due to their unsavory environment and their basic lack of compassion.

This is our favorite theater. It has imax, 3d, big comfortable seating, and good customer service. Also theres a reward program. Its also nice, always clean, and big inside. I have been to other theatres in the tri state and have not had the same experience. Also glad its close by us. :)

This is my regular go-​to theater, and I even live like 3 minutes away from one. Choosing to make the slightly longer drive to this theater usually provides a better experience. This place pretty much has it all: roomy theaters, plenty of concession, including a Famiglia pizza counter, ticket kiosks, arcade games, a self-​playing piano, and even a sit-​down restaurant with a full bar. Pretty awesome when you can do dinner and a movie AND a drink all in one location. They’ve also got a directors hall where they premier movies with super cozy chairs and people who take food orders and bring it to you. All around great theater. It will always be my movie spot.

If you live in a university theme park plucked-​down in the middle of a cornfield, a.k.a. Oxford, OH, then the Springdale 18 is your closest «megaplex» cinema. Yes, Oxford has the Princess and Hamilton has the AMC, but neither markets itself to much beyond family fare and teen trash, IMHO. So if you need to see a non-​artsy Hollywood flick, or a major indie, then the Springdale 18 is your place. A bit closer than the Esquire, my choice #1, which doesn’t always play the classy trash I like (lol etc *inserts snark here).
NOTE: While I’ve never had GREAT popcorn here, I’ve never had BAD corn either. It’s always a «go» on the popcorn here for me.

Fantastic venue! Great food with several different places to buy food including a sitdown restaurant. Easy to buy tickets online, at the kiosk or with a cashier.

Nice theater with many snack options that I’m not used to. Baskin Robbins, wth?

This theater is your typical place to watch movies as far as the seating and sound quality goes, but it does have some other things as well. There is a restaurant and bar inside, along with a place to order pizza and things you wouldn’t see at a smaller place. Of course it has your typical snack bar and concessions for those bucket o pop and salty popcorn cravings.
I do think they show some interesting things such as the old horror movies and Riff Tracks that I have never seen at other theaters. The director’s hall is kind of odd though. I went recently and they made us all sit in assigned seats? It was more expensive AND they told me where I was allowed to sit. I felt like I was in school again or something. Very odd, and if this were the case again I don’t think I would choose to see a movie in there.
All in all, it’s expensive, which I feel they all are now a days, and it’s nothing special, but it’s still a good time to get out and catch a movie. I know they used to have cheaper tickets on Tuesdays too, so check for that before you go.

We saw Gravity in 3D on the IMAX screen this afternoon and it was amazing! This is the type of movie that really needs to be seen on a screen this large.
The theater is your typical multiplex with all the new bells and whistles. The woman we purchased our tickets from was friendly and professional, as was everyone else we encountered. I even got a good size courtesy cup of water with ice!
Important for me… really clean restrooms, which earned the fifth star!

Came here on a visit from out of town to see the new Star Trek movie in 3D. Its a big, nice theatre with a full bar and huge concession stand, including pizza and other unhealthy dinner type foods.
The screen itself was huge, seating was comfy, and on opening night it wasn’t even busy. Definitely recommend.

In many ways, a movie theater is … a movie theater. If it is clean (yeah I have been in places where the floor was like fly paper), has a first-​run line up of movies, has concessions (wish they were not such a huge profit center), has comfortable seating, what differentiates 3 stars from 5 stars?
Springdale 18 handily meets those criteria for me. It is clean, up to date, has added features of food vendors beyond the usual concessions, a bar on site, 18 screens, a variety of theater sizes and services inside the auditorium, and more. It is excellent in all those regards.
What sets the Springdale 18 theaters as clearly a 5-​star winner is the Starpass card. As a loyalty card it is strong. Benefits from attending include a predictable list of freebies. But in addition Starpass offers the Silver Screen program (classic films on Mondays, 1 PM, $ 2.00 admission including small popcorn and soda), Bargain Tuesdays and Senior Wednesdays. If you have the time, there are features beyond the «norm» for movie theaters.
Clean, comfortable, great schedule of shows, many extras in its screens and services, and the Starpass card. If you are a frequent movie goer, give Springdale 18 a try.

Springdale 18 is … eh. I neither love nor hate going there, which is sad, because I LOVE going to the movies.
This theatre is way out in the middle of nowhere (sorry suburb people, but every time I drive the half an hour out to get to you, I feel like I’m completely lost.) You can’t miss it though once you get close. It’s a giant building lit up with giant lights. If your eyes don’t hurt from looking at it, you’re staring at the wrong theatre.
The inside is fine — basically like any other theatre. Giant room, ticket counter to your right, overpriced snack bar in front of you, the works. The one thing they do have, however, which I love, is a bar! Yes, there’s a bar in the theatre, so if you’re waiting for a friend or for a later movie (if you missed yours), you can get a drink. Win there, my friends.
The theatre itself is what you’d want. The seats are comfortable and the screen and sound big. I’ve never been unhappy with my movie-​watching experience.
The parking situation is horrible. Not so much getting in — there are plenty of spaces throughout and I’ve never had trouble finding a spot. It’s getting out that kills me. There arte so few exits and, when everyone leaves a movie at once, everyone is trying to get out at the same time. It’s organized chaos where there are like five lines forming for one exit. Terrible.
Still, I like it more than the horrible, gut-​wrenching experience that is AMC Newport, and so, you get more stars then them. That’s basically the highest compliment I can give. If you suck less than Newport on the Levee, I will come back to your theatre.
